The pointer nail cracked as there wasn't enough acrylic to coat it.

If I could give zero stars I would. Went in for a fill and cutdown, one lady removed the gel polish while another finished with her client. I told her I wanted a fill and a cut down and she asks if I want them taken off. After I told her "I want them cut down, if I wanted them taken off I would have said that". I told her I needed them shorter. She then proceeds to cut them down using nail clippers, cracking the acrylic in several places. She cut them all the way down to nearly natural nail length. Then she put too many coats of polish making them bubbles up and argued with her when I said I wasn't happy with them and that she needed to redo the polish. They weren't shaped even and the acrylic is thin in places to the point they've broken two days after getting them done. I had to file them myself to make the shape more even. Attached will be before and after photos.

Zoom but still can't see how bad it really is

The team was friendly, welcoming, and very efficient -- they got me in and out right within the time I expected, which I really appreciated. My pedicure was done perfectly and the attention to detail really stood out. They were also thoughtful about the little extras that make the experience more relaxing, like the comfortable chair, the heated neck wrap, and the overall clean, well-run environment. What impressed me most was how attentive and communicative the staff were. They made sure they understood exactly what I wanted and checked in along the way, which made the whole visit feel easy and comfortable. If you're looking for a nail salon that's professional, friendly, and respectful of your time while still delivering great quality, I highly recommend La Vie Nails. Five stars from me!

This place is an upgraded chop shop…read more The services for me & my husband were booked as a Deluxe Pedicure & a Classic Muanicure with a gel polish for me. Typically this should take one hour for each individual service for a total of 2 hours. Total service time for both services at this "spa": 1 hour which includes a brief restroom break for me during my manicure because I had to stop in the middle since I was so frustrated. First off, the place is filthy and unsanitary. What I witnessed was hugely disturbing. * Pedicure chair foot rest was dirty & the small table where tools & lotions were placed throughout our service was filthy & not cleaned between clients. * Tech placed some sort of filter for the pedicure water tub while we were seated & then removed to place on the same table with the tools & lotions that were being on us. * Tools used for my pedi while in an autoclave sleeve were not unsealed in front of me & the sleeve was actually not sealed. I didn't see my husband's tools. I'm hesitant to say if they were actually sanitized for each client. * After the pedi, the cuticle clippers were slipped inside the autoclave sleeve after a brief wipe with some sort of solution & a cotton square. Cuticle pusher & nail clippers were not cleaned but also placed inside the sleeve which had never been sealed and processed. It was more used as a tote for the tools. * Drill was used on natural nail beds-both hands and feet-in an effort to first remove cuticle & across the entire nail bed! No buffer nor cuticle pusher was used and most importantly NO cuticle remover was used to soften the cuticle before removal.. Basically the approach is to remove dry skin via the drill! * The drill itself was filthy covered in nail dust from prior clients. * Both me & my husband experienced cuticle cuts on toes and hands by sloppy work. These were treated with an antiseptic in a dropper which thankfully didn't come in contact with us! No comment made by techs when this occurred. We came home to apply some Neosporin. * Nail files & buffers were not single use and had been used on other clients prior to us. * Some sort of cheese grater device used for callus removal on feet which wasn't sanitized. It was within a plastic tote which was sitting between me and a stranger at the pedi station. Used on my feet & returned to the tote without any sort of cleaning which also had a bunch of tools & other things Inside. My husband experienced the same mysterious grater type device removed from a different tote which also wasn't sanitized. * Towels used throughout servics were threadbare, stained and edges unraveling. Pedicure took less than 30 minutes & I'd estimate our feet were in the water no longer than 10 minutes via dipping in and out vs. a static soak which is impossible to soften cuticles and calluses. By the time we transitioned to the mani station I was ready to walk out. I had existing gel polish which needed to be removed and was lifting. I stated that at the beginning of the services in the pedi area. This was not soaked during the pedi. At the mani station, the first attempt to remove was grinding with the drill. When I objected, the nail tech chose to use his own bare fingernail to attempt to lift the remaining polish & then tried to grind off with the drill what was left. I pulled back several times when this was attempted since I haven't used a drill to ever remove gel polish & know this was damaging my nail beds.I then requested specifically to soak with acetone which typically takes 20 minutes. The tech did accommodate however the acetone was on maybe 5 minutes so it didn't come off as easy as a required 15-20 minute soak which should have been performed during my pedi. All buffing etc. was still performed with the drill. I requested to take a break to go to the restroom during my manicure & returned to request a change to just a file and buff of my natural nails because I was so hugely disappointed in the service & cleanliness. The tech was nice about it since he could tell I was visibly upset. The use of drills on natural nails is a clear indicator the techs are lazy & focused more on speed of service & most importantly this damages your client's nails! Services stated in the menu that weren't received for our pedis: no neck wrap, no warm eye mask, minimal time in the water, & massage was maybe 5 minutes. My manicure took maybe 15-20 minutes since I cut it short to walk out with just bare nails after all this nonsense. My husband & I get mani/pedis every two weeks for the last 20 years & have recently relocated from DC. Yes our bar is high for service; but I won't compromise on cleanliness & sanitation. The prices at this business are outrageous for the service & the cleanliness & sanitation need to be addressed immediately. If I could give this place a zero rating I would. We won't be returning & I'll let everyone know who asks that I don't trust their sanitation practices.

When I arrived, I was greeted at the door, and Leslie was waiting for me at the bowl to start my pedicure. She offered me a glass of wine and began my pedicure. I got a French manicure on my feet and it is beautiful. She really did a nice job. Next she did my manicure. I was originally going to get Joe like I always get but decided to try something different. I ended up getting what is similar to acrylics, but they use gel and a shorter than stiletto almond tip. When she was finished, she suggested adding chrome and said that it would be so pretty. I've never had chrome she added, and it was beautiful. I want to suggest that everyone go see Leslie, but I'm sure that everyone does well too. I will be back. This is my new favorite place.

Prices have gone up so that a basic pedicure is now $60. I questioned my bill yesterday because what they charged me did not match the prices posted on the website. They charge an extra $15 for any polish, not just gel polish. So buyer beware. After an email exchange, they offered me a credit for services next time, but since I live two hours away, that is not of much use to me.

I hardly eve post reviews but I couldn't stay quiet about this one…read more Terrible customer service and poor-quality work. I had been going to this salon Selbyville location because it was close to my house, but unfortunately, my experiences with nail tech Anara were constantly disappointing. My gel nails were often uneven, bumpy and wavy. I gave polite feedback so she could fix them next time, but the quality didn't improve much. After only 3 visits, I booked another appointment with a different nail tech and next day it got cancelled and the salon blocked me from booking and left a voicemail saying I was "not a match" for them. Shockingly Anara also texted me stating that the "quality here is low and they can't meet my expectations". Additionally I just found out that a friand of mine had her nails done by Anara 4 months ago and developed an infection after her cuticles were cut improperly. And now my sister who also went here, has decided to stop. If you care about quality work, safety and respectful service, look elsewhere.
