JH Nails was only a few blocks from where I lived so I decided to drop by on a Saturday. Thankfully there was NO ONE in there when I walked in (because I came in right when they opened) and so I was serviced pretty fast. I got the basic gel manicure and pedicure and I can say hands down this place is probably one of the most hygienic nail salons I've been too. For the pedicures they wrap the foot tub so it's much cleaner for the client. They also have great massage chairs and they're super comfortable! The technicians take their time when your nails and they're all so sweet and accommodating. I got my nails recently done by someone else, since I came on a weekday and not a weekend. I have to say she is probably the BEST and FASTEST (without suffering quality) technicians I've ever met. I had my gel manicure removed and from start to finish it was about an hour. Please see the pictures yourself because words don't do justice!

When I come here I always get Lilly and she's really sweet. I've been here three times…read more Review is based on 12/23/22 visit. I was welcomed warmly and asked what I would like. I opted to go for their special Spa Pedicure with regular manicure. I am happy with both services. Lilly gives a really good pedi. The spa pedicure was nice. She wrapped my legs in a clay mask and covered with warm towels and Saran Wrap to set while she worked on my feet. She gave a nice 15mins leg massage and showed me the timer she set so I would be sure it's 15mins. She did well in removing those pesky little bits of nail that always dig into the side of the big toe... lol I don't know how else to explain it. But Lilly did really good there! The manicure was as expected. She did well and didn't cut me when removing my cuticles. Downside: they charge $1 for quick dry so I had to pay $2 (one for toes one for hands..) which is not a deal breaker for me but I feel like it should just be standard to apply one coat of quick dry to all polish.. but maybe I'm just spoiled cause my usual place includes it with service. They gave me a gift which I thought was sweet and thoughtful. It was a green tea lotion. Not sure if this was only for Xmas or just something they give with Spa pedi. I saw a flyer for "Forever charmed by V" which is a pop up shop that they have where you can get "forever jewelry" while you wait for your nails to dry. I hope I catch that vendor next time they are there. Overall I would come back here again and I would ask for Lilly again. Thank you Lilly!

The person I've had most frequently since is pretty good and seems she has gotten more comfortable. I came this past weekend and got a different girl, it appeared she was in training mode. There was another much younger girl who sat next to her and watched-- it was a little uncomfortable because she kept staring at me, but obviously I couldn't understand what they were talking about. She kinda moved very quickly and felt she could have spent a little more time. Once I was done, she attempted to charge me $5 more than the usual rate, I objected. The lady next to me tried to justify but the manager who knows I come regularly said something and they corrected the amount. I am contemplating going back to Lina's across the street due to this. Also, I brought my daughter and I was told I was charged too much for what she requested. . .

They are attentive and clean. They keep it pretty dark in there so I've noticed that the regulars would use their phone lights to check the nails and ask for changes if needed. For me, the pedicure tool usage is something I've had to monitor especially since COVID but they've been good about getting me new tools if I am suspicious about any one thing they're using on me.
