This was a pedicure disaster. This place in located in Brownwood. I was greeted by someone who spoke english and then placed with someone who spoke limited english and appeared untrained. I was offered no beverage like everyone speaks of in other reviews. She was rough, said my name at least 50 times, did a horrible massage with scrub instead of lotion and didn't wipe off the product well. She had no clue how to massage and made me feel like she wanted the pedicure over as fast as possible. It was horrible... the most un-relaxing pedicure ever! To top it off she left me at the drying table and it wasn't even on. The manager at the counter never even asked me how my service was. And they only accept cash tips. Interesting. I was so excited to try this quaint place during our Lifestyle visit, and to move here with a salon already chosen. But that definitely is not the case. I am sure the other reviews are true, just a new manager and new tech perhaps who isn't even licensed, appears helped me. The tech was nice but spoke limited English. I couldn't really converse, and the techs next to her would try to help but she didn't seem to understand. The "manage" as she described herself, didn't even seem to know anything about nails or customer service! She brought over another tech who she described as her trainer, bit they didn't seem to speak the techs language to talk to her. Then they walked away to never check back. I called the manager over as she started my gel polish. Nothing had been applied to prep my nail for polish and the first 3 that had the base clear had taken way too long to apply. The manager turned rude and condescending, told me I was causing her to take too long and telling me how long the two procedures I requested took and then said the tech was two minutes to be finished and she would not have someone else finish because she wasn't doing anything wrong. She told me I was making the tech nervous so it was taking longer. It took 12 minutes to finish and i could have done a better job. I actually felt bad for the tech because the manager wasn't nice... she could have saved the day by just finishing the job herself or asking another tech too. My fingers and toes now have polish that is uneven and on my cuticles.. Well what is left because she cut them so much. She used one small washcloth as a towel thru the manicure which included wiping the table from the previous person and shaking the old gel dust onto the floor and onto my freshly polished toes. read more

Got a dip manicure here. I asked why the nail tech wasn't fully taking off my old nail polish or tips... she said nail color was close enough and they would be thick / strong. Seemed like she just wanted to get it done quickly. After taking a little of my old nail color off just shook the towel on the ground and put it back. Had me soak my fingers in acetone told her I didn't want to get it all over my hands. Got my nails done on 10/07 my index finger nail came off on 10/11 then middle finger on 10/12. Didn't sanitize tools between clients. Would never go back here. Terrible job and not sanitary read more

This salon is only even getting 2 stars because they were flexible and able to fit me in for a new full set same day without an appointment and they are reasonably priced. That was the only good part of the experience. The nail tech was rushed and rushed my appointment. The quality and work is horrible. He didn't clean any of the paint up from my cuticles after his application. Majority of the sides of my nails were missed and never painted. A couple of nails were only painted half way, leaving it to appear that I already need a fill! I am thoroughly disappointed. I will have to remove the polish myself and repaint them. I was hoping this salon would show a higher standard of standard considering its is located in Brownwood. It is worth the extra money and travel to use orchid nails in lady lake. 2 stars because I was able to get a pedicure and manicure as a walk in. My manicure actually hurt because the technician was filling away and not even looking at my nails. Services felt rushed. The biggest turn off/gripe...the disgusting aquarium! The spot to sit down and have nails dried is up against a fish tank that was the dirtiest thing I've seen. Looks like it hadn't been touched since the salon opened many many yrs ago. I could see fungus covering the glass and shi* floating around what looked like a sick fish. Salons should be clean. Having customers sitting right in front of this thing is enough for me to not return. read more

Went here for almost 3 years. I loved this saloon. Chi Chi was my gal and great for a long time. After they got really busy, Chi Chi never had time for me. After not getting my nails done to just getting manicures, I discovered Nicole. She was great the first few times. She was so rough and in such a hurry each time thereafter, that she did damage to my nails with the dremel drill as bad as when I had acrylics. She did a terrible job the last time. I would give no stars actually. I had an appt and brought my nephew with me he is 11 years old and told them that Im going to give my Pedicure appt to him and Ill just get my nails. They told me that the person doing the pedicures does not do Men. I said really. The receptionist said to me yes some asians don't do men. I said cancel my appt Ill go somewhere else. I turned around and walked out. I did not know business is so good that they can pick and choose their customers. This is a business and you are a male doing nail and pedicure for women why not men. I walked in this morning for a mani/pedi. They were able to get me right in with Ivy. She did a great job on both. She was very particular with my gel manicure, which I was very happy about. I love that they have their regular polish matched to their gel polish so when you get a mani/pedi you can do the same color on toes and fingernails - even if you don't want gel on your feet. I wish the salon I go to in New York would adopt that practice. Next time I'm here in The Villages I'll be in for another mani/pedi. read more

I had my first appointment at the Nail Saloon today with Danny. He was nothing short of amazing in the work he did. I had a shellac french manicure. He was friendly and extremely pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, I am ready to leave for this winter and will not be able to have Danny do my nails again this trip. But, I sure will be back in December and would not have anyone else again here in TVs. I have been going to another nail salon here in The Villages for my seasonal 3 month visit here for the last five years. This year, my usual manicurist I have had the last two years, who was extremely good, was on vacation in Viet Nam for the 3 months I was here. Unfortunately, the other manicurists that I tried at that salon were nothing short of horrendous in the work they did. I will never go back there again. No offer of a drink to me but the lady that sat beside me and was offered a glass of wine water or soft drink so maybe they just forgot to ask me. The polish and cut was good work just wanted the extras. My feet look dry so maybe lotion or oil would have been nice. After visiting the Villages quite a few times I've been on the constant search for a decent nail place, and I feel like I've finally found it! The customer service wasn't great, but that could be because I'm about 40 years younger than their average customer. Also, they have dip powder for those that are looking for it!
