I happened to mention to a friend how I wished I could have my head massaged by a professional and…read moreshe turned me onto the concept of "head spa," which I had never heard of before. Well, I went down a rabbit hole and found Poppy and Monroe! A head spa is more than just a massage. At Poppy and Monroe, they give you a scalp analysis, massage, and essential oil treatments, with plenty of warm, rushing water to rinse and finesse. My treatment, which was pretty pricey at around 300 bucks, also included a facial (the esthetician rubbing my face was divine), foot massage, and hand/arm massage. At the beginning of the head treatment, Anna (who was AMAZING, by the way) showed me what was good and bad about my hair and scalp--my scalp was some of the best she'd seen, but was a little pale and needed more blood flow. She then showed me what my scalp looked like after that treatment, and there was indeed more blood flow, and looked more vibrant and less anemic. Anna was professional and kind and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everything felt wonderful. The vibe was calm. I felt relaxed. After the visit, Anna gave me pointers on how to care for my scalp and recommendations for returning for further treatments, but not in a gimmicky-trying-to-sell-me-stuff way. The space is warm and welcoming and also offers pedicures, manicures, and makeup sessions. The pedicure/manicure spaces are a little close together for my taste (I prefer private rooms), but they are stylish and clean. I plan to come back and see Anna again to work on my self care regimen. And there are lots of cute restaurants and shops in the area, so you can park and make an afternoon of it!

I had finally found a black nail tech that did both feet and hands.I don't care how much you charge.I want a one stop shop.I don't want to get my feet done at one place and done at another so I was excited to find her but I also did want to spend a whole days work getting my nails done.I'd keep an eye out on rickole and her art work was getting good but I wasn't sure about the time. Rickole messaged me and asked me to come back and swore she'd gotten faster and better. I excitedly told her yes I'd come back. I made an appt that week. Got my feet and nails done. Still took her 5 hrs but I liked Rickole. She told me how she redid clients nails for free. How she barely charge because of how slow she is. I told her, girl I can easily pay what you're doing at the asians 175 for hands and feet and they weren't even doing designs on my feet. You're doing designs and my feet and still charging me under 130. And I still tip them. I told her to make a policy and stick to it. If a charm come off and it's past a day or two, charge them for a new charm. That's time and inventory. She was doing someone's nails on Sunday when they told her they'd soak their nails off. I said why are you doing nails on a Sunday and you're off? Did you charge her an extra fee? Rickole said no. I said girl you gotta do better! I made an appt for this past sat. Aug 2nd. This appt was important because I was going out of town during the week. I normally take off the day before to run my errands but new job, I couldn't. Plus Rickole take all day and I knew I would need to pack.Rickole message me two days before to cancel. She cancelled on me to go to atl to do walkins there. I'm irritated but this is a new friend and I support her but I told her girl come hell or high water be there Wednesday cuz I'm going out of town the next morning. As I suspected Wednesday, I'm coming all the way from work in franklin past cool springs. I've messaged rickole asking for her addr. She doesn't message back. I'm wanting to get wings which is right down the street from her. So I put in their address. 20 mins out I call the wing place put in my order. I pull up to the wing place they're closed! Like no business closed. I look at the street and I'm like, this isn't the street. Between traffic and me knowing what by I have to do tonight, I'm irritated. I've called rickole no response and she still didn't send the address. So I send all bold caps send the addr! She finally sent it and tried to call back, I answered but couldn't hear her. I'm like eff it. I'm almost there. It's 530pm I get on the street, my food was ready, I'm trying to tell Rickole I'm On my way getting food. I didn't think anything of it. I grab my food and get to the shop. I'm thinking I know she's mad but she knows I can't all the way from franklin. But ima take care of her. She was gone. I called and called she didn't answer. I guess she was mad I got food but it was paid for! She would've been just as mad that I brought it in! I would've left it but she take all day so everything would've been closed anyway. Mind you I'm like she know I wouldn't have been this late for nothing. I've not been late before! Plus she canceled on me to go to atl! This is what I was trying to avoid.I'm calling and messaging.Atp I'm like the friendship is over but baby I need my nails done! I got off at 4 it's 6 now. I can't even go to another nail shop! This girl would not answer the phone yall. Not once. Not even to tell me no! Mind you I've called her multiple times before! I'm in Disbelief like girl, I gave you free game! I tip you good! Don't patronize this place!!! I've patronized this…read moreestablishment for 3 years, and never had a problem until today 11/1/22. I got there about 10:15am and the lady that usually does my nails (Bebe) wasn't there no big deal I'll go get breakfast and come back. However I went got my food ate and she still wasn't there. now it's about 10:45 or so. I have things to do I can't just sit and wait time is money so I let (Cindy) go ahead and do my nails. The biggest mistake like I already knew it was she's absolutely horrible at nails brows is her lane it's like she's practicing or something just bad. So she starts drilling my nails, and her phone is propped up on a table next to her and she's looking at her phone and back at my hands first red flag I had 2 nails that needed repaired one being my pinky which is pictured. so she gets them both glued on and move to drilling my left hand. I look at the nails she just put on ,and the pinky is crooked like extremely crooked!! she looks at it and tries to peel it off with her bare hands instead of soaking it off WTF!!! not once but twice I even offered to take it off myself ,because no bihhh you not about to keep hurting me like that. I told her that hurts she needs to soak it off you can't pull it off like that (once again). she then gets acetone and say "I told you " as if it was my fault that she chose to peel it off. Like how tf was that my fault? So we got past that and Cindy tries to fill my nails yet again . She sees Bebe (bitch ass)pull up. she really thinks she's big bad wolf or somebody. real nasty attitude like always angry or something need a man idk her face is just always stuck on I hate life. But she does a great job always so I guess that got her head big‍ But whatever her sister (Cindy)called and told her she had already had in mind it was me . Didn't even take in accountability that you've been doing my nails for 3 years, know my children, ask about them often ,we've never had a problem not once, and I've never not one single time given you or anyone in that shop a problem ,attitude, any of that but just because "I'm black" she assumed I was the problem. I was having a bad day, I did something wrong. And the little bitch that drives the white beetle car was there the entire time heard everything that happened yet also lied said it was me. (Like whattttt are you serious)? I said how about go look at ya camera? She wouldn't because she knows Cindy is trash at nails. I never raised my voice or anything ,but I was the problem??? So b4 this trashy Bebe got there another customer (Black lady) walked in she came in about 10 minutes after I'd already gotten her to take it off. Clearly in just 10 minutes and I was soooooo rude I would have still been upset, cussing, or anything showing I was mad. That lady had no clue until Bebe came in and Cindy told her lies then the bitch starts to immediately getting upset with me. So the black lady finally chimes in. How are you lying saying she was mean to you and she was still sitting at your table cool calm?? (Because I thought I was just waiting for Bebe to come) had no clue we had had an argument or "I was mean" which I damn sholl should have been for hurting me like that. If I would have been rude the police would've been called so fast. Moral of the story share this all you can!!!! These ppl (because that's all they see is as) don't gaf about our loyalty to their establishment or how they treat our ppl (the black community),yet we are the only ones that patronize their business not their own. Hence they usually have their businesses in our neighborhoods but have zero respect, accountability, or care in the world for us!!! we are only tolerated.. these bihhhhhs will never get another dollar from me. I wanna say so much more ,but they not about that life fr they just come to our homes and pretend they are Bebe Cindy and little puppet lying bihhh the most disrespectful (F) for you!!! Oh and I even explained I was more hurt by the way they treated me , more so of her choice to remove my nail that way, these scum bags still didn't issue an apology or anything. They actually never think they are wrong about anything just trash! If I could put zero or negative 5 I would you don't even deserve 1 star and I'll be sure to share my story every possible place I can. you guys should be ashamed after all this time you treat me this way. so just imagine how they'd treat a new customer that has a crooked nail. Ohhhh and Bebe your lying daughter has a tramp stamp tattoo on her back that she said you wouldn't be happy about snuck and got it a couple years ago!
