I was immediately impressed by the office and the staff. The office is beautiful, bright, clean, and very welcoming. I especially loved the lighting -- it was so bright and well-lit, which I really appreciated. It has that clean, professional, almost sterile feel that you actually want when visiting an ophthalmologist! It was really special to come back 21 years later and find myself in the care of the next generation of the Salz family. From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable and confident that I was in good hands. One thing to keep in mind when scheduling your appointment: make sure you set aside about 2-2 1/2 hours. There are several parts to the visit, so give yourself plenty of time and don't schedule yourself too tightly afterward. So far, my experience has been wonderful, and I'm very happy to be back with the Salz family. It truly feels like coming full circle!

I called around lunchtime and got someone who sounded like a young teen. All she squeaked out was "the doctor probably wasn't there yet." Never asked my name. Never apologized. Just "well the doctor must has not been in yet." What kind of unprofessional mess is this place? Needless to say, if the office is run so poorly, I'm not dealing with them.

I had a complex situation with my vision, and both their expertise and patience were remarkable. I spent over an hour with the doctors on multiple occasions, and never felt rushed. They were fully focused on helping me to address my vision issue. Both doctors have great "bedside" manners, askign clarifying questions and explaining their procedures. My appointment today with Dr. Bargoud, very late in the afternoon, went well beyond an hour, yet he continually focused on solutions to my challenges. I'm grateful that we have such a fine practice here in New Providence.

This year, I decided to go to Hunterdon Family Eye Care for my optical needs. I parked and entered a building, went up to the 5th floor and was met with a large waiting room. I then had to fill out my new patient intake forms and waited all of 20 minutes before Dr. Abbas was ready to do my eye exam. Everything went by quickly, they checked my eye health, verified that I was currently wearing contact lenses and then began my eye exam. I was remiss in not bringing the prescription I had earlier but Dr. Abbas took care me in no time. After the exam, she discussed my payment options for new lenses; what my insurance covered, any applicable rebates, and how much I would pay in total for this visit. It was extremely helpful and the comfort in knowing what my options were and what I could do was great. I was able to try two different brands of daily lenses to see which ones I liked more and got about a 10 day supply of them to continue using to see how my eye felt. Hunterdon Family Eye Care was an amazing experience and I truly felt part of their family. I will definitely be coming back despite a hour and half drive to this office. Professional, attention to detail, and a high level of customer service and experience is well worth it. The staff of opticians were amazing, they all tried to help because I have a serious problem making choices and they had lots of options. I'm not sure why so many $$$ are on other reviews, I came out of there spending $500 LESS than I did last year with glasses which fit well and I liked much better. I don't recall ever spending so little, the specialty lenses were extremely affordable. They detected a problem with the current progressive lenses I'm wearing which was a relief as I thought my vision was getting worse! My 12 year old is usually very shy but Dr. Nagelberg brought out the chatter bug in her! Thank you all!!

Today I am writing on behalf of Rebecca who works with prescriptions. I have had a problem with my insurance company in getting an eye drop that works great for me. Rebecca has been so helpful in trying to get this special one. I have to give 3 other ones a try before they will consider this one. This was my first visit to this eye doctor since my 2019 appt somewhere else. For those of you…read moreconcerned about how the practice is handling appts, here's the news: Once you make an appt, you get an email with a form to complete and bring with you and a confirmation with instructions for your appt. They are asking you to call once you're in the parking lot. I waited near the door (not hovering over it) and Dr Leggin came out to bring me inside. She took my temp right away, took my form and asked me to use hand sanitizer. I went into the exam room where she explained everything that was disinfected and what was being used. She washed her hands before starting the exam and used hand sanitizer quite frequently. She remained double masked the entire time and took the time to talk through some questions and comments during the appointment. Once done, I checked out with the front desk, which is partially covered with plexiglass except for a small opening to pass through paperwork and payment. The person at the front desk was also masked and there were signs posted about the guidance they're following. My appt was on a Wednesday and my contacts and glasses are expected to arrive the following Monday. Overall, a solid appt. Peace of mind knowing these are the steps being taken for an eye appt. She is not able to see the same volume of patients due to all the extra steps needed. I lucked out getting an appt just a few days from calling. She is dedicating an hour per patient to allow time for those extra steps (disinfecting, taking temp, asking to to use hand sanitizer, etc). Parking is easy as there's a dedicated shared parking lot for the area she's located (behind old man rafferty's).
