    1/2 Chopped Salad

I think this is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in the (Spokane/Rathdrum) area! Charming, friendly, and fabulous. We were greeted and seated right away. Water and menus came with a nice basket of chips and a delicious salsa. We ordered the pork belly skewers for an appetizer and I finally understood why it's so popular. Beautifully caramelized pieces of pork belly alternating with cherry tomatoes, it was like a mini BBQ rib. I ordered the pork taquitos and a 1/2 chopped salad based on the size of taquitos you get in most Spokane Mexican restaurants. You know, they make two rolled taquitos, cut them in half and say there are four in an order. At Nadine's there *are* four real taquitos in an order. So good that I didn't touch the salad and brought it home. One of us ordered the pork belly tacos (yum) that were served with a yellow (saffron maybe) flavorful rice and beans. And, lastly, our friend ordered a chicken Chimichanga. It was huge and she loved it. The strawberry Margaritas were delicious and were made with a bit of puréed strawberries. Service was phenomenal. It was such a great experience that I can't wait to go back!

Great food, lovely servers. So attentive to our dogs. Always busy, worth the wait. We try to come here every time we're on our way to Hayden Lake and when we come home... That's how much we love it.

This little neighborhood restaurant is the definition of a mom-and-pop establishment. It is located directly in the middle of a neighborhood on the corner, depending on which way the directions take you it doesn't even look like a restaurant from the side. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the storefront before I left. ( My bad!) First things first, the dining room is not very big and parking is limited so get here early or there might be a wait. You won't go hungry while they are making your delicious food because each table gets complimentary chips and salsa! Our server was super sweet and made great recommendations as we looked over their BIG menu, thus the photos attached to this review. We started with the Pork belly skewers which were next-level delicious! I don't think I have ever had pork belly melt in my mouth like an M&M. The bed of slaw with the vinegar dressing was a perfect pairing. Shortly after our food arrived and it didn't disappoint! The ribeye was tender, exploding with flavor, and super juicy but not sloppy, the tortilla was homemade and held every bit of meat, and the chimichurri until it was able to be eaten. The refried beans were creamy, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned. My date had the fish tacos which were also "Amazing!" ( her words) they came on a bed of mango coleslaw and a chipotle aioli that was not needed because the dish was perfect without it. All that to say, go and eat there! The staff are nice, the servers are attentive, the food is great and you will be supporting a small business.

I've decided to update reviews if it has been awhile I've been to the restaurant and/or if my original rating has gone up or down Today was excellent as always. Great food, great service and a must come back whenever I can. One of my top 5 Mexican restaurants in the NW!

Food is consistently excellent with a southwestern take on some traditional Mexican dishes. One of our favorites.

Ask the Community - Nadine's Mexican Kitchen

    Do they have air conditioning?

Yes they do. They have a ductless split system installed right above the bar. I know because we ate there two nights ago when it was very hot.

Should I call and place a reservation?

I'd call ahead. It's a tiny place so we did make reservations. And there wasn't our normal family of 7. Only hubby and I .

    Do they cook with lard?

I don't know what they cook with, but it tastes like they cook with heaven. Don't worry about it -- the calories don't count when you're in Idaho.

    Glut?en free options?

    Yes

The food was absolutely fantastic. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, with a soft, fresh bun that held everything together beautifully. Every bite was delicious. The sweet potato fries stood out as some of the best I've had--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The ranch was thick, creamy, and so good I ended up dipping everything in it. Portions were generous, the food came out hot, and there wasn't a single thing on the plate I didn't enjoy. It was one of those meals where you're already thinking about what you'll order next time before you've even left. To go with the meal, the beer selection was solid with a nice range of options, from easy-drinking choices to more flavorful craft pours. Everything felt thoughtfully made, and the staff added to the experience by being friendly, attentive, and easygoing without being intrusive. Overall, it's a great local spot with excellent food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again.

I was on the phone with him while he went through the drive thru.. He ordered TWO chicken quesadillas with extra chicken on both and requested the sauce be in cups on the side instead of on them (they're notorious for putting way too much on them).. When he got to the window, our order was almost $19 .. The kid at the window gives him the bag but no little cups of sauce .. when my husband reminded him, he tells my husband "we put the sauce on them unless you request it otherwise" .. my husband DID request it but they're so busy playing around in there like it's a party rather than a business so he apparently did hear that part.. I told my husband it's fine, I'll just eat them that way this time ... Fast forward, my husband just got home and not only is there just ONE quesadilla instead of two but it's almost EMPTY.. there's barely anything in it and what is there is only in the very middle!.. We just paid $19 for a TORTILLA!!!... I've tried calling them several times now and the phone line is keeping a busy signal .. This is what happens when it's just a bunch of kids running a business with no supervision.. They were all laughing and cutting up the entire time my husband was waiting at the window... We won't be ordering from this Taco Bell again.. This was a costly lesson learned!

The food looked beautiful and we got the Box OG (pork), elote cup, mulita and TJ sticks. For the pork tacos, you don't really taste the pickled red onions much. I almost wish they had a stronger flavor because really all you taste is the pork and whatever salsa you put on. The creamy cilantro salsa was very good but we could definitely pass on the spicy roja, the flavor just wasn't for us. The pork itself was okay. As for the elote cup, I think we're a little spoiled after having elote in Arizona which was absolutely life changing. Because of that it's hard to say this one was amazing. It felt more like a watery cup of roasted corn. The cheese on top was good but once you got past that it kind of tasted like canned corn. Our 3 year old liked the mulita which was a win. The TJ sticks didn't seem fresh so they were just okay. Overall it was decent for the area but we've definitely had better. The building is newer looking and nicely kept, just watch out for the big pothole when entering the parking lot. Also their website says they're closed on Saturdays but they were open when we went and we let the drive thru employee know. Service was friendly enough.
