I came here for the first time & never tried Indian cuisine in my life so I was pleased to be greeted by the store manager. He was very kind, passionate about his job and super helpful as to what combinations to get. The food ended up being delicious and flavorful. My husband and I ate everything! The mango drink was also my favorite. The establishment itself was very clean with ample amount of seating! I'm overall very happy & pleased with this restaurant. I will definitely come back to try more delicious combinations!

Ever time we are going to be within 5 miles of this restaurant we make a point of ending up here for lunch! Endless combinations keep it interesting. Great flavors and sauces, good staff! Will keep coming back for more! Need to have location in southtowns!

Build your own Bowls, Vegan Naan, Butter Garlic Naan and Stellas for the win!

Haven't been here in a minute cause I had been ordering online but today really hit the spot. I got the sweet sauce and drizzle on a chicken bowl with a few toppings and it was perfect. I'm glad it's a small space and the customer service is always great. The overhead music added to the casual ambiance and it was overall a good night. I'll be back!

KIDS BOWL with swai fish

I had a small bowl with the Swai fish which was cooked perfectly! Very tasty! The Naan itself is delicious dipped in the tomato cream sauce and the fish dipped in the tamarind sauce is soooo good! I wish there were more options for the bowl base as I can't eat rice and the spring mix is just that - not more than a garnish. The person behind the counter was very friendly. The entrees also come with free chai tea. It's just a tad too heavy on the cardamom. The one thing I didn't like was that it could've been a lot cleaner. The floor and tables could use a good scrub. The same for the bathroom. I'm looking forward to trying the new location in Kenmore - I hope they keep it clean.

Basically an "Indian Chipotle" where you get to customize your own bowl with different toppings & proteins. Taste wise is great, but portion size is lackluster. I got my bowl for around $13 (with student discount) which isn't terrible, since it was delicious. But you can most likely get a better deal at two nearby places with Chipotle & Halal Guy.

I love Naan-tastic and have meant to get around to providing a review for them. Yesterday, I got the chance to attend an Yelp Elite only event. This event gave us the opportunity to catch up with yelp friends and make new ones :). This was also their 5-year anniversary so that was exciting. So ideally, this was the perfect time and place. One of my favorite things about this place is their vibe. The dining area is incredible spacious and ALWAYS spotless. I regularly visit and dine-in. I even hold casual work meetings here to grab some good food while discussing business. I ordered veggie samosa with a small side of their vegan Mac and a bowl. I am a vegan and appreciate how many plant based options they have readily available. Since this is one of my favorite spots I pretty much knew exactly what I was looking for. I decided to build my own bowl starting off with quinoa as my base and Chana masala as my protein of choice. These two were also paired with fajita vegetables. For my sauce I get the vegan vindaloo which is incredibly flavorful (side note) they sale bottles of this. They also have vegan naan available upon request. Now I would be remiss if I only talked about their delicious food. One of my favorite parts about Naan-tastic is their incredible customer service. Specifically Bilaal is amazing. I remember bringing my best friend with me to try this place. Honestly, she's very inquisitive ( read picky) about food. The patience and honest candor of Bilaal was very appreciated. In turn, she was able to find something that she absolutely loves and adores.

If you like Channa Masala, and getting out of the rain... I'm not the type to brave this traffic nightmare, but my gal pal is at the wheel, and we're seeking refuge in a relatively empty restaurant. To be fair, it is 3pm, though it is a weekend, so I don't know if everyone has gotten takeout or is sleeping on this place. I too was one of the latter, having wanted to try it without facing the parking lot. Hooray for my gal! We both were obviously new to the game, made evident by the way we were staring at the menu board. The guy behind the counter beckoned us forward, giving us a thorough rundown of the entire counter. It's set up like Subway, with an Indian twist. He had us sample the sauces before making us commit to anything and even took note when I asked for a lighter portion on something, as the serving size is quite generous compared to some place that may rhyme with "rip off -otle." My gal went for a rice bowl, and I decided to follow her lead, though we went for different rice options, her the cumin and me the turmeric. We did have the option to split it as well. The rice had a good consistency, with enough fluff to not be congealed, yet stable enough to hold under the weight of the other toppings. I'd say it was about two cups worth. My gal went with lamb, a double portion. She said it was cooked well and tasted great. She grew up on lamb, so I trust her judgment, as I personally went for the chickpea curry. There is a slight heat to it, and even with a single portion I feel satisfied. He dissuaded us from adding on cheese, which would dilute the glory of the well seasoned meal. My gal actually let him decide what flavors would best suit the bowl, which he complied, verifying that she was okay with his choices and insisting on adding the finishing sauce before adding the cilantro. I went for cucumber, lettuce, onion and a wee bit of jalapeno, no sauce, as I cannot seem to keep my shirt clean when I eat saucy food. She also went for a mango drink that tasted like real mango. He said he drinks one a day himself, and while I didn't get a drink, seeing both of them so blissful over it, I do wonder if I should have. But there's always next time. That's when I'll also get a naan like her, because it's large and delicious and will sop up that shirt spoiling sauce. It's relatively affordable given the quality and quantity, and you're welcome to dine in or takeout. So yes, I like Channa Masala, and getting out of the rain in this little escape.

I ordered the delicious Naan Tacos and everything tasted really good and seasoned well. The restaurant staff is super helpful for guiding you through their menu and the restaurant is really nice inside with lots of decor and very clean.

SAMOSA CHAAT
Netra B.

We tried this for a quick lunch. The service is quick since they have build your own order style. We tried samosa chaat, naan taco with paneer and Paneer combo. The samosa chaat is really good but naan taco and paneer combo can be improvised a bit. They have good vegetarian options. We got enjoy the food with some good weather since they have outdoor seating option as well. Ample parking space.

Tacos, and rice bowl

So me and my wife came here today. It was our first time trying Indian cuisine and so we wanted to try something familiar but different. When we first came here it offered a sense of urban tapestry and cleanliness. Offering a pretty fun atmosphere with of mixture of Indian culture and pop culture. Let's get to the best part. THE FOOD!! So coming up to the counter to order it offered many variations of a rice bowl, burrito, salad bowl, quinoa bowl and tacos. It was very overwhelming since we never had Indian cuisine, the workers here were so informative and understanding and gentle with letting you try out certain dishes before putting them to your own personalized dish. I felt so bad because I was inquisitive about everything. It is a resemblance of Rachel's and chipotle. Great for a quick bite to eat and better than any fast food since Indian cuisine offers a lot of healthy choices and variety. Also, the food was AMAZING!!! It was really good, freshly cooked, not overdone and the best part, it made me feel I would definitely continue to come back because if the atmosphere.

Always awesome!!! Fresh, delicious plenty of options to build a delicious bowl! Any reason we can find to head that way we do , even if i have to shop with the wife, if I'm good in get a bowl !

Jessica R.

Absolutely love coming here to grab lunch takeout for the office. Everything is delicious. It doesn't matter what you choose because every combo somehow tastes amazing. The workers are all very friendly as well

Came here to get dinner (for takeout), and everything was great! The restaurant was clean, the service was quick, and everyone we interacted with was friendly. I ordered the build-your-own bowl with turmeric rice, chana masala, sauce, veggies, and a side of naan ($1) and samosas (2 in an order and come with red and green sauces). Food was delicious!

Fake Indian food. Save your money and go to an authentic Indian restaurant where you can get bigger portions that taste WAY better.

Ask the Community - Naan-Tastic

Does the rice bowl dishes come with a side of naan or it is an upcharge?

Naan is $1 more when I got the bowl. I'm not sure if it is for every dish, but I would ask.

Is there a way Naan-Tastic could publish their nutritional information on the fitness app "My Fitness Pal"? I am very health conscious, counting calories and tracking my nutrition, so I tend to choose places that have provided their menus to MFP.

Hello, We are currently working with a nutritionist to get all that information available. Once we have that, we will integrate it into MFP. We can definitely follow up with…

Is the meat halal?

Hi there! The lamb is halal. We also serve fish and a number of vegetarian/vegan options!

Well, on the positive side, I had a really nice time in good company. The restaurant was clean,…read morerather spacious, and I certainly appreciated the white tablecloths. We sat at a round table that perfectly fit our group of seven. It was a very comfortable setting, so we could talk freely. We came for "Buffet Night Wednesday," served from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. Around 6:30 p.m., I felt like we were late to the party and should have been grateful there was still some food left. We knew a large group of 25 people would be coming for the buffet that day, but I didn't think it would be a problem. The buffet looked kind of sad to me. I managed to sample almost everything, even Goat Curry. Everyone said it was very good. I passed on the Samosas (not too appetizing looking). Also, I didn't want to commit to the whole piece of Tandoori Chicken, so I checked the Chicken 65 instead. It was nothing like I had tried before, but the bite size pieces were good, plus it wasn't really spicy. Everyone's favorite, Butter Chicken, was very tasty. I had only a small piece of chicken. When I went back for another one, it was gone, only the sauce remained. I think just one dish was refilled during our entire stay. I was hoping for fresh Samosas, but it didn't happen. The Tofu dish was one of my favorites. Luckily, there were just a few pieces hanging around, so there was no risk I could overeat at this particular buffet. For dessert, I had a little white pudding. It was a generic dish you'll find in every Asian buffet, nothing special. We learned that the ownership had changed, but it seemed like it was still a family business. The children were supposed to clean up the dirty dishes, but they didn't. We were surrounded with dirty plates, and none of the employees seemed to care. This was my first visit to Shalimar BBQ & Grill, and I can't compare my experience to previous quality. I can't complain about the taste and flavor, really, but the entire buffet was missing something. Maybe the food? :)

There were two dipping sauces. One was green and chunky(like a salsa) and the other looked like soy sauce. It had a nice kick to it. I ate both the samosa and the deep fried leaves. I liked the fried leaves very much, with the dark brown spicy sauce. Not easy to eat, but tasty. The hot items on the buffet were labeled, but I did not write down the names. One was, of course, rice! Most of the dishes had nice chunks of chicken in them. The Tikka Marsala was my favorite, lots of chicken with the peppers and seasoned sauce. There was also a dish with paneer cheese in it. Also nice, and the paneer does get nice and soft. Another dish was a chicken curry. There were several dishes that were vegetarian. Everything I ate had a nice flavor and some also had some heat/spiciness. I think the lunch buffet is offered 6 days/week. It's $19.95. It's a lot of food for lunch. It is not clear whether the buffet is also available at dinnertime.

My spicy dosa was about the level of my Texas chili, but my husband reported seeing beads on my face! I immediately felt better! Another thing to love about the place: The prices of the dosas are about 25% less than a comparable one in Buffalo, and they're maybe a little better tasting! . Absolutely Terrible Experience -- Completely Unacceptable Service and Disgusting Conditions…read more This was an absolutely terrible experience from beginning to end. I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I genuinely do not mind waiting when necessary. However, there is a significant difference between being patient with a restaurant during a busy period and being subjected to an experience this poorly managed. The lack of communication, complete disorganization, unacceptable service, and disgusting condition of the establishment made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. To begin with, it took an unreasonable amount of time for anyone to acknowledge my presence and ask what I needed. There were only a few people in the restaurant, so the lack of attention was especially frustrating and difficult to understand. There was no host at the front desk, just a bell with a sign instructing customers to ring for assistance. The problem? Nobody was actually there to provide that assistance. Customers were essentially left standing around, wondering whether anyone working there even noticed they had arrived. Eventually, a woman came out from the back, but it quickly became apparent that she was being expected to do everything herself. She was waiting tables, handling DoorDash orders, and delivering food, all while attempting to manage the customers in the restaurant. If staffing is so inadequate that one employee is expected to handle nearly every aspect of the operation, that is a management failure. Customers should not have to suffer because a restaurant is incapable of organizing its staff or providing even a basic level of service. What made the experience even worse was the handling of my order. My order was marked as ready, yet nobody ever brought it out to me. There was no clear communication, no timely follow-up, and no effort to make sure I actually received the food I had ordered. Marking an order as ready when it has not been delivered to the customer is unacceptable. What is the point of providing order status updates if customers cannot trust them? I should not have to chase down employees or stand around trying to figure out what is happening with an order that the restaurant itself has already declared ready. On top of all of this, the restaurant was absolutely disgusting. The condition of the establishment was appalling and did nothing to inspire confidence in the cleanliness or overall management of the operation. Basic cleanliness and sanitation should be nonnegotiable in any restaurant, particularly one preparing and serving food. Instead of feeling comfortable eating there, I was left questioning the standards being maintained behind the scenes. The environment was so unpleasant that it further reinforced just how poorly the entire operation appeared to be run. Ultimately, the combination of the lack of acknowledgment, nonexistent front-of-house assistance, overwhelmed staff, failure to deliver an order that was supposedly ready, and disgusting surroundings made it impossible for me to properly enjoy or even try the food. This was not simply a matter of having to wait a little longer than expected. It was a complete breakdown in customer service and basic operational standards. A restaurant does not need to provide extravagant service to earn a customer's business. It needs to communicate, acknowledge people when they arrive, deliver the orders it claims are ready, and maintain a clean environment. These are basic expectations, not unreasonable demands. Unfortunately, this establishment failed on every one of those fronts. I left thoroughly disappointed and extremely frustrated. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Management needs to take a serious look at its staffing, customer service, order-handling procedures, and cleanliness standards. Customers should not have to work this hard just to receive an order, get someone's attention, or feel comfortable in the establishment. This experience was unacceptable, and the overall lack of care and organization gives me very little reason to ever return.
