I was craving Afghan food and a good friend recommended this place, & she was so right the food was delicious, I had Bolani Kachaloo, & triple combo Kabob, the portions were big. They make everything fresh, so it takes 15-20 minutes to have your order ready. I met Manizha great lady, such a beautiful soul, she was attentive and sweet, she makes me wanna give this business 100 stars!!! Above and beyond customer service, very clean place, there's parking right outside, they have a huge selection of products, they also sale meat. Definitely will come back and recommend for you to check k it out!

This place has so many different types of bread. And all the different spices. I came in looking for Himalayan salt. Oh by the way did I mention they also have a small eatery inside? They sell hot food. But I was able to look at the menu. I was in there for about 10 minutes. I wanted to stay and shop some more but I had another place to go to. So I will definitely come ba

I have been a FAN of this place since it first opened and shouted from the mountaintops how good this place is on Yelp and all over I let others know! Now it is constantly busy with lines! I'm glad it is expanding and such a success! And they added gata and nazook ( hope he gets the apricot jelly square desserts with lattice pastry on top too! Those are yummy!) and lots of Persian /Afghani treats! And freshest of halal meats! I just wanted to mention on Christmas I had a big family get together. I had 42 people ( yes, told you I have a huge family!) and although I served prime rib, I also ordered the Quabli pilau with lamb shanks! That was a hit! Even people who normally think lamb is gamey and don't eat lamb, I had them taste it and they loved it!!! This is one of my favorite lamb dishes and both of my son's too! They ask me to get this all the time when they come home from college as they miss it! The store wasn't going to open on Christmas Day but bc people wanted to order food they stayed open a few hours for us! They even kindly added an extra shank bc they are just great people! Best thing is now it is just so much easier for me to know I can order this for a big party especially during Christmas- makes my life much easier and it was a hit! So giving you guys a heads up as a great tip and reasonably priced too! One shank can feed 2-4 people( I shred the lamb onto the rice off the shanks). Try it first as a nice dinner for your family and see how you like it. Rice is great and yellow with carrots and raisins- the raisins put it over the top! Very delicious. Best to get it hot and ready from the store on that day so fresh ( otherwise reheating can make it dry)! So hopefully, they continue to open on Christmas Day for at least pickups( like 2 hours for lunch and 2 hours before dinner)! Trust me, you will THANK me after trying this! And as I always say in my Yelps, I love to support the best local businesses we have and especially of good people! This is a good one! Oh and other tips- on Friday mornings( maybe Sat too?) they have a breakfast crispier Afghani bread for breakfast toast- yummy so good with chai. Another tip I do is I cut the Afghani fresh regular bread naan an into squares and cut a hole in the middle to make egg in the middle for my kids. I add garlic powder and fresh green onions browned under and over the top and bottom and lightly fry it in a pan as I cook/fry the egg like both sides flipped. So egg yolk is soft and runs when poked with a piece of Afghani bread ( so like garlic bread circles from the hole I made). My kids and husband loves this especially with the sesame seeds long Afghani bread. Soooo good! You can thank me after you try this- let me know how you like it!

Some of the best chapli kabobs in the Bay Area! We often place large orders for pickup, and they're usually ready quickly. The service is consistently friendly and efficient. Highly recommend if you're craving authentic, flavorful kabobs!

We wanted to try their goat meat ( raw) so checked this place... they sell fresh Halal meats, veggies, breads ( amazing selection) and many items from their country to the local Afghan community. After giving the order we saw they have a small mom & pop restaurant so thought of checking it out... We ordered- Potato Bolani - it's our favorite very close to Aloo Paratha Chicken & Beef skewers with rice . While we were waiting for the order we were curious to check the products they offer... it was a wonderful experience seeing all the products/ Groceries. Upon knowing it's our first time to their store & new to Brentwood area the owner gave us free Jalebi's (sweet)as a welcome gesture to the beautiful city. We loved all their food & the goat meat was very fresh & tender. We have been several times to the place for the fresh cut goat meat & every time we get excellent customer service.

Unfortunately, I already knew there wasn't going to be a next time and Zelle'd her anyway. This place really needs a good deep cleaning. I walked in to a small eatery with very few tables, horrible lighting, flies everywhere, a random piece of pipe on the floor, and a very sad looking display counter. I was worried about the cleanliness of food preparation just based on what the restaurant looked like. I was hopeful, however, and the food itself wasn't that bad. I didn't get any flat bread with my beef koubideh order. It was a little tough, but decent seasoning. There are a handful of similar cuisines in the area that I would probably go to before landing on this spot.

The restaurant is located a shopping center with plenty of parking. The staff included a young man who worked the front and the back and a woman who I believe cooked everything. The restaurant leaves a bit to be desired as far as ambiance goes, but is good for pick up. The young man was very nice. The food smelled incredible. We could not wait to get home and dig in. The chapli was very spicy ( I've never had this before and was surprised). But otherwise everything else tasted great.

I'm not an authority on Afghan food so this is rated as an outsider…read more Overall the food can be summarized as: lightly seasoned, enjoy the simple flavors of each component, and Must use the sauces to complete the dish. I personally think everything needed some salt, but maybe it's meant to be this way. Highlight is most definitely the green sauce (yogurt and chili, not spicy), baklava (sweet sticky on the bottom and flaky crisp on top, not overly sweet), yogurt mint drink (dough). Shami beef and chicken kebab were juicy and not dry. Through a bit of miscommunication.. I was given the yogurt drink instead of the normal side of yogurt cucumber sauce for the meat, and was warned by Ali that some people don't like it since it's a yogurt drink with salt, but honestly it was great and was essentially a yogurt mint sauce I expect from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern type places but more watery. So admittedly I just took sips of this while taking bites of the kebab and rice and it was pretty much the flavors I was looking for, but an extra step. Beef Mantu was another source of confusion since there are regular and homemade versions (I didn't realize). They made me the homemade version without confirming with me on the phone; no problem. It was filled with lightly seasoned beef and topped with interesting spices. Overall not bad not great, definitely needs sauce / salt. Too light in my opinion. And for $25 I wouldn't get again not worth it. The customer service from Ali was great. Knowing this was my first time he explained everything, offered to charge me less due to the miscommunications (I declined), and gave complimentary side of sauce and baklava as a nice gesture. Good food. I know how to order next time. Extra green sauce or yogurt drink all over.

Service was pleasant, and we received enough attention throughout the meal course. Great, open seating with the view on the Monument Boulevard, that was bright and comfortable. The outstanding Afghani food, and even better the desserts with saffron tea made this experience complete throughout. Would highly recommend Narunj Palow with thinly sliced dates. Turned out to be a little bit pricier than I thought it would be for a lunch, however, it really did worth it.

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.
