The station is located between Rue de Rivoli and Rue St Antoine, near Eglise St Paul and St Louis Church. There are both retail shops and cafés in every direction. So just start walking and you find something. Near the station we found Charcuterie Traiteur, which sells both sausages and saucisse de Lacaune (small ones), along with cheeses and desserts, while also operating a small sandwich shop in back. Nice. Also nearby is Eglise St Paul and St Louis Church, which in itself is a reason to visit here. The church is incredible and is magnificent inside. You have to see it's beautiful altar, organ and naive. Exploring the le Marais can be a lot of fun. You'll never know what you'll discover. Enjoy the journey.

The best way to move throughout Paris is on the Metro. I brought 10 tickets (fares) for $14.90€…read more because that was the best fit for me. I used Google maps to get to all of my destinations, it gives you step by step directions on what trains to catch as well as a map to view. Make sure that you keep all of your tickets because there's some ticket people working in train station that were asking to see your tickets to exit train station and if you didn't have your ticket they charged you $50 Euro/ fine but it seemed like they were targeting all tourist because of course we don't know to keep our train tickets.

I found myself at Gare de Lyon at the end of my time in Paris to catch a train to Barcelona. I…read moreopted to train it instead of fly due to the general hassle of flying and the sophisticated rail system that Europe has. Getting to the station was pretty easy via Metro. The station is large, with several concourses with the tracks. It was pretty easy to navigate, and as soon as I got to my concourse I was easily able to find what track my train would be rolling out of. Additionally, there are several convenience shops and eateries you can spend time in while waiting for your train. Everything was pretty seamless - there was a good amount of time between announcing my track and rolling out of the station which helped me find my way and settle into my seat. Overall, I had a good experience at Gare de Lyon; it was a great sendoff to my time in Paris.

That line is line 8, which was a line I don't recall ever using until I stayed near the military school. It does serve a few useful areas (Bastille, Republique, Opera and Concorde for example) but I guess my unfamiliarity with the line means that unless you are actually staying on the line, then there is usually a better way

I actually hurried down here because despite a wander through the Tulieries being quite a pleasant experience. Like most of the stations on the metro, it isn't all that deep, meaning that getting to the platform is pretty quick.
