I really appreciated all the attention to detail that Wendy put into my hair, listening to what I asked for and showing me a few options along the way, which I really appreciated since I preferred and showed each option she suggested! She ended up giving me curtain bangs that can also be a little wispy also, and cut my hair to a length that looked soooo good. There was so much attention to detail when she was cutting too. It was great. For the color, she said that a lighter color might not actually look the best on me and a subtle brown might be better! I was pretty down for whatever she thought looked good so I trusted the process again. Let me tell you... this subtle brown looked so good with the cut. Also, my hair? Soft as HECK. It was kinda gritty before so I was shook when I touched my hair after the appt. She chatted with me lots and also gave me space too. It was a great balance and also she answered my questions!! I always have so many questions and she answered them all for me!! Including... how to style my hair because I suck at those things. I'll take any advice and tips I can get. Allen is incredibly detail-oriented, and I leave happy with my haircut every single time. I originally planned to grow out my bob after dyeing my hair dark brown from blonde, but I hated the awkward in-between length, so I went back to Allen to refresh it instead. I'm so glad I did. The first time I went to Allen was actually to fix my hair from my previous hair person. I was almost in tears because my hair was orange literally the week after I got it done and dropped so much money. my hair felt so dry and looked like I havent gotten my hair done in a year. I tried to tell myself it doesn't look that bad but the more I looked at it, the more upset I got. So I was looking for someone on yelp to help me fix this and came across Moc Hair Studio. The reviews were great and although I was nervous I couldn't stand to look at my hair anymore the way it was so I took the leap of faith and gave it a try. Allen was so informative and let me know what exactly my previous hair person did to make it look like that. He explained what he will do to fix it and throughout the entire process I could tell how meticulous he was. I felt like I was in good hands and after he was done, my hair looked like what I wanted it to look like in the first place!! I was so impressed with his work that I decided the next time I needed my hair done I'm coming back. Fast forward to yesterday.. I wanted a change with my hair so I decided to go back to Allen and see what magic he could work. I wanted to try something a bit different from what I usually go for and I knew Allen could do it but from previous trauma of going to the same person multiple times and never getting exactly what I wanted, I was still scared. Because my hair is so stubbornly straight, the curls didn't hold perfectly the first time around. But the founder is absolutely amazing--she was incredibly sweet and offered me a second session completely free of charge! I came back a week later so she could assess my hair and redo the process to make sure it turned out exactly how I wanted. In total, the process took about 5-6 hours, and the cost was $500 for the root lift and perm. It was totally worth it for the level of care, patience, and dedication they showed.
