MyEyeDr in Minooka IL. should be avoided. They are not true to their word and their customer service lacks professionalism. I highly recommend you find a different eye doctor. I was denied an exchange on contacts due to writing an L and R on the box and because one box was open. I now have 11 lenses that are of no use to me because the prescription had to be changed. I have in the past been able to exchange the unused lenses for the new prescription after having an exam with them. I explained to the doctor that I was concerned about ordering to many contacts because the prescription can change. She understood. When I ordered the technician ordered two boxes for each eye, I only wanted one per eye. I did not notice till I got home. I called and was told not to worry because they can be exchanged for the updated prescription. When I went in to do so, I was denied. The manager was no help and somewhat rude. I will not give them my business again. I suggest you make sure you read all the fine print on the web site. That's were the policy is stating no open boxes or boxes with writing on them can be returned. I failed to read the web site policy and therefor I now have 11 unusable contact lenses that cost me $137.50. I had an eye exam today and it was so hard to get straight answers on what my insurance covered as far as frames, lenses and contacts as well as their own prices. I was made to feel that my questions were an inconvenience for them. Disappointed with the customer service! read more

Went to get new glasses & the girls were great! They helped me pick frames, went over the pricing for the different ones I chose with my insurance so I could get one in my price range. The doctor told me that my brand of contacts is sadly not being made any longer, but she helped me find a new brand that ended up being perfect and fitting even better than the last brand! read more

Hurt and disappointed by this establishment. My husband and I have been patients for years, so this is hard for me to write. I got a new lenses last July, and paid good money for them. This past January one of my lenses popped out and was lost!! Devastating!..I called the office to get some help. They said that since I took no insurance out on the lenses, I would have to pay full price, and most likely have to get new frames too since there might be an issue with the frame that this happened! Ok, so I get quoted full price, almost 500 bucks, because I won't be due for new frames or lenses until this July through my insurance. Ok, that really hurts since 6 months earlier I just bought lenses...so I turn to an internet based eye shop because I could at least get a pair very reasonable that would tide me over until my next exam in July. So I call the office to get my prescription. Had to jump through a few hoops to get it, but I got it. But they neglected to provide me with my PD (pupillary distance) which is very important when ordering glasses online, otherwise the whole prescription will be off. So I call the office again. This is where things started to go south. I had to sign another release and when they sent my PD info back..the numbers were covered with a sheet of paper and could not be seen. So I called the office back.."oh we'll send it again"..same thing numbers covered up. So I called back, and was verbally provided with the numbers. But I still wanted something in writing from them. It finally culminated with a darkened sheet of paper being sent obscuring the numbers that I needed. At this point, I had called the office like 4 times, and spoke to each of the gals that work there. So I was resent another darkened sheet of paper, this time with numbers HANDWRITTEN out in black marker over an almost blacked out sheet!!. It was like pulling teeth..and I walked away from all that still not feeling right or confident with my PD number. I understand that this is a business, and that profit needs to be made. I get it. But when a long time faithful patient is trying to save a little money by going on the internet and purchasing a pair of glasses until her next exam with you, why would you make it so terribly difficult and uncertain? I was a customer at this practice prior to myeyedr taking them over, and was very pleased. This is my experience with them now that they are a myeyedr chain : Today, AFTER my exam, I was informed my out of pocket expense would be $68 vs the prior year which was $10. I've had no changes in insurance coverage and had less done during my exam. After trying to figure out why with the office staff (thinking it was an insurance issue), and calling my insurance in their presence, they finally let me know the exam went from $90 last year, to $185 this year. I was floored. They did not disclose the cost of the exam OVER DOUBLED (which should have been done prior to the exam). They let me waste my time calling my insurance provider trying to figure out what was wrong with my coverage when the entire time they knew they gouged me on the exam price. They also misquoted the cost of my eye glasses by $110.00. I had to challenge the cost of the glasses in order to get the price correct according to my insurance coverage. I was stuck paying the $68 copay, but cancelled my glasses order. I'm extremely dissatisfied. My advice is AVOID THIS PLACE !! It felt like they looked at my insurance coverage and jacked their prices to take advantage of me. It was hard to get straight answers. myeyedr. has lost my family of 5 patients due to this SHADINESS !!!
