*AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unprofessional Staff, Unprofessional Office Manager, Karen. They do not care about their patients and their customer service is awful. I was a minute late for my appointment and they would not take me!!!! LITERALLY 60 SECONDS!! Eye Doctors are very competitive and there are numerous other eye doctors in the area that will gladly take your business AND TREAT YOU RIGHT! I had my appointment scheduled for 10/15/21 at 11:40 am. I arrived at 11:48 am, and I stood outside of their door adjusting my face mask which is a requirement of theirs. I adjusted my face mask and walked in. There was not a single patient in there and I did not see a single employee upon entering. A few seconds later, a woman walked across the lobby and went into the receptionist area asking if she can help me. I said I have an appt at 11:40 and acknowledged I was a few minutes late as I hit a few red lights on the way, and I also have a 6 week old baby and a 3 year old and got a baby sitter in order to go to my appt. The receptionist said "You need to reschedule" I asked why and she said they only have a 10 minute grace period. I said it is 11:51... So because of 60 seconds, you won't take me? Very arrogantly, she said No, you'll have to reschedule. I thought she was joking. They would not see me because of 1 minute. I explained that it was important to keep my appt as I got a baby sitter in order to attend this appt and she still told me no. I asked for a manager and again, with a very arrogant tone, said there was no manager that day. I asked for a corporate number and she said she would "gladly give it to me" as though I won't be heard anyway and she didn't care who I spoke to. I left and spoke to corporate who told me there is no such thing as a 10 minute grace period and that is not their policy. The corporate office just couldn't understand why they wouldn't take me because of 1 minute. They said they would address it and I would have a follow up call on Monday. Today, I received a call from Karen, the office manager. Clearly the office staff follows Karen's lead when it comes to customer service. Karen offered no solutions and blamed me and said I swore and was yelling. I never yelled and I said one swear word (BS) because I was extremely upset that they were so petty to not take me because of 60 seconds. Karen said they were short staffed when I mentioned that no one was even readily available at the desk when I walked in. But honestly, someone should be available if they are going to "count seconds" and that wasn't the case. In fact, there was not a single patient in there. NOT ONE! It's not like they were even busy. Corporate had told me that after 15 minutes, it would be at the discretion of the doctor. The girl at the desk never asked the doctor. Never got up from the chair. There was no resolution with Karen and she said "I wasn't willing to listen to her and I can go ahead and speak to her district manager and she would be calling him anyways" Again, very arrogant and I mentioned how terrible the reviews were already for the Chippewa office and I would be adding to those reviews and she said OKAY!!! She didn't care... No apology or anything! Clearly they don't need the business and the Chippewa office is filled with employees who need some serious training when it comes to customer service and how to treat their patients... starting with Karen the manager. I mentioned to Karen that I work with businesses everyday and I fully understand the importance of customer service and she said "I don't know what that has to do with anything"... Again.. some serious training is needed. As a patient of 10 years plus with My Eye Doctor, my family and I will be finding a new eye doctor that treats us well. Very disappointing. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with My Eye Dr in Chippewa, PA. read more
