While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

This time…read moreI needed help fixing a leak in my home's exterior main water line, and Yelp helped me find a few reliable plumbing companies. I received several responses with quotes, and Desert Water Plumbing and Rooter was the first company to reach out. I contacted them around 5 PM on Wednesday, and they were able to schedule a free estimate for Friday. Dan Burke showed up right on time. He was professional, efficient, and easy to talk to. Like the other companies I spoke with, he recommended repiping as the best solution for the long run. He gave me an estimate for the project and also mentioned that if the office couldn't schedule the repair on Monday, he could stop by to do a quick temporary fix to stop the leak and then come back when they could finish the job. I really appreciated that because I don't like wasting water. The price Dan quoted was also very reasonable compared to the other companies. After thinking it over, I decided to go with Desert Water Plumbing and Rooter and called the office to schedule the appointment. They weren't able to do the repipe on Monday but scheduled it for Tuesday. Dan did come by on Monday to help temporarily stop the leak. Then he and his team came back Tuesday morning and started the project. Everything went smoothly. My house now has a new pipe, no more leaking, and it feels great knowing the issue is fixed. I'm glad I found a plumbing company I can trust.

Sent a technician out the very next day and called right away to give me both a verbal/ written quote. They were so well priced we added another service! Ended up getting a leaky valve replaced and got our tankless water heater flushed for an amazing price. CONSIDER THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR HOME PLUMBING REPAIR NECESSITIES. Will definitely be using them again in the future. THEY TRULY ARE AN AMAZING BUSINESS. Wish more businesses were held to these kind of standards.

What sets them apart is their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to customer education. Rather than simply fixing the issue and moving on, they always take the time to explain what they're doing, answer our questions, and provide helpful recommendations for extending the life of our plumbing systems and fixtures. Most recently, Lou and Anthony spent an entire day at our home tackling a long list of plumbing projects. Their work was thorough, efficient, and completed to a very high standard. Despite the large scope of the job, everything was finished in a timely manner, looked great, and functioned perfectly. Just as importantly, they treated our home with respect. Before leaving, they made sure everything was clean and tidy, leaving no trace of the extensive work they had completed throughout the day. It's rare to find a company that consistently delivers this level of service year after year. We highly recommend them and are grateful to have a plumbing team we can trust whenever the need arises.

Beware! Appears that this "locally owned company" was purchased by a private equity group (Flint…read moreGroup is the platform company with General Atlantic being the private equity firm). We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). This might be a good starting point for that type of story.

I was referred to American by a friend, and they hit the ball out of the park at every customer touchpoint. I had the pleasure of working with Curtis first. He came to my home to give me a quote, and the thing I appreciated the most was that I never felt like he was trying to oversell me. He provided me with education, walked me through all my options, and gave me his honest opinion about what I truly needed versus what would be "nice to have." In an industry where most consultants are concerned about their commissions, Curtis made me feel like he was genuinely concerned about my needs, my pocketbook, and my satisfaction with my purchase. This is how you secure a customer for life. I was also extremely pleased with my installation team. I would like to give special thanks to Angel and Evan. These two were warm, respectful, and professional. They were sensitive to the fact I was working from home during the install, and they made every effort to allow me to do my thing while they did theirs. Angel did an awesome job correcting some issues he found in my attic. He shared pictures of his work and the quality really shone through. I feel confident that my system will live through many scorching AZ summers. In addition to the care I received from these hardworking techs, I was also super pleased that American offers interest-free financing for qualified customers. Obviously a new system is a huge investment. Having the option to make payments helps me balance this major purchase with my other priorities. I can only speak for my experience with their HVAC team, but based on that experience alone, I will be using American for all my plumbing and air needs. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for all your work. This company is truly amazing.

I believe I was taken advantage of. Thought you all out there should know. Full timeline: My AC stopped cooling, so I called Forrest Anderson, a company I've used for the past four years for regular service and check ups. They said a technician could come out after 5:00 PM, but that after-hours service would be time-and-a-half--$150 instead of the normal $100 service call. I was also told parts might cost slightly more. I agreed, with the understanding that we would discuss pricing once the issue was diagnosed. The technician arrived and called me about 10 minutes later (could see him on the security cameras), saying the issue was a failed dual run capacitor and that he had the part in his truck. Before authorizing the repair, I asked multiple times what the total cost would be for parts AND Labor. The first response was that "the computer isn't working," so he couldn't look it up yet. I asked again, when he called back 5 minutes later, and he said the total would be $734. When I pressed for a breakdown of parts and labor, he said he'd have to get back to me. Based on the price, I assumed this must be an expensive part or a labor-intensive repair. I was out to dinner and couldn't look it up. The technician completed the repair in about 10 more minutes and left shortly after--roughly 20 minutes total on-site. I saw them come and go with the cameras on my house, sharing updates with the technician coming and going. Afterward, when I could look up the part, I discovered the same dual run capacitor costs about $20 on Amazon, and even less from a local parts supplier. At that point, it became clear that I was charged about $500 dollars for a minimal labor job and a very inexpensive part. I trusted them when they claimed their computer was down and couldn't provide pricing details, but somehow it worked well enough to charge me $734. Had I been told the actual part cost upfront, I would have declined the repair and hired someone else at a fair price. I tried repeatedly to speak with the owner to resolve this and left messages for the owner. Instead, I received a call from Dan, the service manager, who spoke to me as though I had done something wrong simply for requesting a detailed invoice. At one point, he said over and over "you agreed to the repair". I told him that I trusted you were quoting me a fair price, and not $700 in labor, with a $20 part. He could not explain that to me, when I reminded him that the call was $150, instead of $100, and that the part was $20. He literally lectured me and kept saying that. I reminded him that I trusted them to quote me fairly. After four years as a customer, this felt deceptive and predatory. This was not a labor issue--it was a 10-minute diagnosis, a 10-minute fix, and a massive markup that relied on my trust and lack of transparency.
