While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

He had me go to Lowes (online) and order the replacement unit, so I wasn't paying a markup from the installer. He picked up the unit from Lowes and just charged for the install. The advantage in this is you can chose the unit you want by quality and price. Units with longer warranties will cost more, probable between 6 to 12 years, so you get to decide what best for you without a installer charging a big markup. I was able to was my military discount for 10 % off. Another advantage is you are the one purchasing the unit. If there is a problem with the unit in the future you can go back to the manufacturer or Lowes (who I have found to be very good at backing up their sales). If your installer provides the unit he may not be in business in 9 to 10 years. Install was completed quickly. I had three other quotes before calling Gabe. Working with One Shot was 20% less then the next lowest bid and half the price of the highest bid. Will use them again for any plumbing issues.

We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I believe I was taken advantage of. Thought you all out there should know. Full timeline: My AC stopped cooling, so I called Forrest Anderson, a company I've used for the past four years for regular service and check ups. They said a technician could come out after 5:00 PM, but that after-hours service would be time-and-a-half--$150 instead of the normal $100 service call. I was also told parts might cost slightly more. I agreed, with the understanding that we would discuss pricing once the issue was diagnosed. The technician arrived and called me about 10 minutes later (could see him on the security cameras), saying the issue was a failed dual run capacitor and that he had the part in his truck. Before authorizing the repair, I asked multiple times what the total cost would be for parts AND Labor. The first response was that "the computer isn't working," so he couldn't look it up yet. I asked again, when he called back 5 minutes later,and he said the total would be $734. When I pressed for a breakdown of parts and labor, he said he'd have to get back to me. Based on the price, I assumed this must be an expensive part or a labor-intensive repair. I was out to dinner and couldn't look it up. The technician completed the repair in about 10 more minutes and left shortly after--roughly 20 minutes total on-site. I saw them come and go with the cameras on my house, sharing updates with the technician coming and going. Afterward, when I could look up the part, I discovered the same dual run capacitor costs about $20 on Amazon, and even less from a local parts supplier. At that point, it became clear that I was charged about $500 dollars for a minimal labor job and a very inexpensive part. I trusted them when they claimed their computer was down and couldn't provide pricing details, but somehow it worked well enough to charge me $734. Had I been told the actual part cost upfront, I would have declined the repair and hired someone else at a fair price. I tried repeatedly to speak with the owner to resolve this and left messages for the owner. Instead, I received a call from Dan, the service manager, who spoke to me as though I had done something wrong simply for requesting a detailed invoice. At one point, he said over and over "you agreed to the repair". I told him that I trusted you were quoting me a fair price, and not $700 in labor, with a $20 part. He could not explain that to me, when I reminded him that the call was $150, instead of $100, and that the part was $20. He literally lectured me and kept saying that. I reminded him that I trusted them to quote me fairly. After four years as a customer, this felt deceptive and predatory. This was not a labor issue--it was a 10-minute diagnosis, a 10-minute fix, and a massive markup that relied on my trust and lack of transparency.
