I made a last-minute appointment early in the morning. The Dr and nurse were both efficient, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend.

This review is for the wound care group, which was excellent. My 86 year old mother opened a car…read moredoor into her leg, which caused a deep gash. We didn't find out about this until more than a week had passed. My sister, a nurse, took her into the ER and our followup included a visit with the wound care team, specifically Shelby, RN and Teresa, PA. When we went in, the wound looked bad-they took good care of her, abraded the wound, Teresa even took the time while we were in there to talk with my sister on the phone about what they were doing and what had been done previously. We arrived late-it took me 45 minutes to get my mother out the door and they couldn't have been more gracious or helpful.

Forget pretty much anything serious or dealing with family planning, it's a hopeless morass of bullshit and referals. The head desk folks are friendly, though. Also, bring a book or two because, although all these places are empty, you'll still wait until after your appointment time. You will also never see an MD, just a RN. The staff is friendly though. The referall call center will also likely take a week or more to get you to a doctor because they don't check your insurance properly. It's a useless middle step that adds nothing. People are friendly though. In short, if you live here you have very few choices and the people here are friendly.

Here, we are 6 years later. In the last 6 years, I have had too many horrid experiences at OSF…read morefacilities. Other, than this 1 interaction, it was better than merely acceptable, this situation oozed healing. OSF has convinced me that there is no standard of care, being adhered to at their hospitals; that could possibly be trusted to contribute to one's health. Many of their practices are deceptive, untruthful and certainly possible of aspirating health problems. I have have complained to the advocate's office,I have written letters to the president of the hospital. I have contacted my health insurance carrier and filed a report with Blue Cross Blue shield, expressing my disappointment in their lack lack of professionalism, the staff's failure to provide me with any rational reason that my complaint wasn't being properly addressed. I was held in the emergency room for possibly an hour at the most, no testing was performed and then instructed to go home and to use ibuprofen and Tylenol. When it was apparent that after doing that for two days, there was no resolution of my medical situation. I was running a fever and my body had erupting blisters. They did nothing productive, instructing me to continue the protocol that I have been using for 2 days, after being informed that I was steadily getting worse, more pain, swelling, fever and increased oozing blisters. This situation continued for sometime; I saw other doctors from OSF and hit various reactions from them as well. Oh, let me not forget; I did pay for an emergency room visit, that lasted 1 hour and I received not so much, as a urine test. 3 days later, I made an appointment with a dermatologist working in Peoria IL, she made it obvious, that she had no desire to examine and/or diagnosed me. After she walked into the examining room she took one look and told me that she couldn't treat me because it appeared my eczema (she saw that on my intake sheet) had flared up and she can't prescribe pain medication for eczema. I don't believe there isn't any type of medical cream or salve that could perhaps relieve the stinging/burning, that I was enduring at that time. I think even a medical student would have been observant enough to realize that maybe there was something else, going on with my condition and the prudent thing to do, would be to proceed with some type of skin or cell collection. I felt totally persecuted, feeling that I was being treated, with such contempt by denying me concern and compassion is this the mission of Christian hospitals. Where are the nuns? Is this, where no compassion exist and people can be expected to endure torturous pain and suffer such a lack of interest, by those who we pay to provide us, with medical services. By, requesting that some doctors self-examine, and consciously make a renewed investment in the profession, that they have chosen, in the field of healing and preserving life. Everyone will need assistance, one way or another. Yet, people go around mistreating others and believing there are no consequences. Heroes, do good because that's who they are, not because someone's watching.

Does anyone check Yelp when they need help deciding where to go for Prompt Care? If so, it must not…read morebe that urgent. For what it's worth, I had a good experience here. Luckily, I've only been here once. I had stomach pain and went to Prompt Care. One thing led to another, yada yada yada, I ended up spending four nights in the hospital. (That's right...I yada'd through surgery). About a week after I returned home, I got a $10 bill in the mail from Prompt Care. I had paid $10 for my co-pay when I checked in but because I ended up needing extended medical care, they refunded my $10. Sure they got tens of thousands from my insurance, but I thought it was a nice gesture.

While I have tried several times bringing awareness to this situation before posting, I don't feel…read morethey're taking it seriously and I received the usual brush off from everyone I contacted. So now I'll go this route instead as a precaution to others who visit this Emergency room with head/brain issues. On 8/7/23 I was transported to the ER by ambulance. I had very sudden extreme pain in my head along with complete right eye blindness, severe neck pain, vomiting, and confusion. Once staff spoke to the EMT's that transferred me and getting only half my issues and symptoms, the nurses and doctors took it upon themselves to diagnose me with a migraine, like the EMTs had stated, without any tests or scans and only checking with EMTs for symptoms. They spoke to me asked me a couple questions and left me in a dark room dazed and confused. Once they spoke to my husband and he advocated this was in fact not a typical migraine and that I had gone completely blind in one eye, he stated we were NOT leaving without a scan to find out what was going on in my brain. Doctors finally ordered the scan only to find out I had a ruptured brain aneurysm, also known as hemorrhagic stroke. I was bleeding in my brain and it was on the verge of taking my life. Unfortunately this is not the only time this has happened. My Mother was also transported to this ER after collapsing at home several years ago and while they spent several hours testing her heart, they didn't scan her head for several hours and she also had a ruptured brain aneurysm that they failed to diagnose for hours. Unfortunately my Mom wasn't able to survive her rupture and passed away hours later. The reason I'm writing this is because this ER and many others do not recognize Hemorrhagic stroke symptoms! They play guessing games with matters that affect your brain instead of ordering the scans needed to diagnose these issues quickly. More education of hemorrhagic stroke symptoms need to be implemented and their medical staff need to order the necessary scans to detect such issues. If you arrive at this emergency room with unusual head/brain issues, or any of the hemorrhagic stroke symptoms advocate for yourself to get a scan!!! Unfortunately I've learned the hard way we have to educate ourselves because we can't rely on this ER to recognize or help us in that area.

It was frustrating and stressful for both of us, especially with my son being unwell and I was 3 hours away. It's important that patients and their families feel respected and cared for, especially in such a vulnerable situation. I asked that the situation be reviewed, including the doctor's conduct and the medical notes, and ensure that our concerns are addressed appropriately. Irrelevant and inappropriate comments should not be written in medical notes. Medical professionals should focus on the symptoms that are relevant to the case at hand, and everything should be documented in a neutral and professional manner. It's crucial to hold healthcare providers accountable for treating ALL people with respect and professionalism. People should be heard and feel safe when experiencing health issues! The ER doctor was Lauren Casey and she was rude, unprofessional and short with me when I asked questions about my son's care. I will say that the only thing she did correctly was performing the test that she ordered for him. Other than that she liked professionalism, Empathy and respect. Before I arrived to the hospital, my son said that most if not all the staff was rude to him. Customer service is vital and obviously these people that were there and treated my son knew nothing about good customer service skills. They should be held accountable and trained to treat people in a better manner.

He was released on September 14th without his clothes or shoes, and without having any contacts in Illinois to assist him. They told him it was their normal procedure to dispose of patient clothing and his best pair of shoes. After much searching they were able to find his wallet, glasses and car keys but not the keys to him camper, which is his temporary home. I followed-up with the crises center that were working with him but they didn't seem too concerned that a vulnerable person was released in this manner. He may have made terrible decisions over the years that caused his dementia-like symptoms, but he is a human and deserved better.

Seems Christie, OSF and Carle are now in the decptive business bankrupting many folks who even have high cost health insurance.  They bank on the price setting I guess and set them as high as possible and pricing services way more than realistic.  People are loosing all hope in the collections, medical and operational systems Illinois and these medical systems have in place.
