I am so blessed to have found this place 10 years ago! My daughter spent her entire life here from 12 weeks to 10 years old - she starts jr. high next year. She was there from newborn to preschool then before and after school and every summer camp. The teachers are so loving and many of them have been there for my daughter's entire life. Very low turnover, all the teachers know her by name and they know us as parents. Clean, safe, secure, and off the main roads but in a really great area. Needless to say I can't imagine a world where I did not have them as part of the "village" that it takes to raise my child. Thank you for the 11 years! read more

I can't say enough about this place!! My daughter has been going here for going on two years. the staff takes such good care of her and she enjoys going to "school" everyday. she has learned so much since attending she knows some sign language and some Spanish and often speaks in a mix of all 3 depending on her mood. Ms. Ana and Ms. Maria are amazing! How they remember all the kids I'll never understand. I also recently had a baby and although our daughter attends I was still a bit overprotective of putting our baby in childcare......let me tell you, best decision I ever made!!! the staff love on him like he's family and he smiles and lights up when he sees staff. My Place literally saved my child's life! We have three children at their Woodcreek location, a 4 turning 5 year old boy and twin infant girls. One of our daughters suffers from a problem known as Breath Holding Spells. She upsets herself to the point in which she faints. We were unaware of this as a problem, but it happened at school where she was passed-out for about 40 seconds. Each class has surveillance and we were able to take the recording to the doctor for diagnosis. She confirmed it was a classic case of Breath Holding and even said, "The teachers did exactly what they were supposed to". This reassured us that they could handle any emergency situation, but had it not been for the cameras, we may not have been able to have our daughter properly diagnosed! I love that there are 3 infant classes, many schools lump them all into a single room which is ridiculous because babies change so quickly at that age and have vastly different needs! In Infant C, our daughters get a curriculum of learning, two nutritious meals and snacks (which is one less thing for us to prepare in the mornings) and have a lot of playtime on their own playground! Our son struggled in a previous school and was having disciplinary problems. He wasn't getting the personal attention, he was getting lost in the very big group of kids at the "other school" which was supposed to be one of the nicest in Katy and certainly cost more than My Place. Within 2 months, our son was writing his name, attending birthday parties with friends (and making new best friends) and excited to go to school. Before he'd fight and claw not to go to school. We absolutely love My Place's teachers, they're so helpful and always lend a hand when I'm struggling to get the 3 kids out the door to the car. I can't tell you how many times they've carried one of the babies out for me! It's really amazing...the difference in the schools and how it's impacted our children's lives. Our daughters, soon to be 3 and 8 months, have been going here for the last couple of months, and I must say we are very impressed with this school. This is the third school for our oldest and the 2nd for our youngest, and we absolutely love this place. We like the fact that the director is also the owners, which makes it very easy to be able to talk to someone that can make a decision. The teachers are top grade, and the class sizes very small. The only thing missing is a nicer park for the kids to play in, but other than that it's a very nice place! read more

My older daughter went to this center for a year and half and now younger daughter is going there for few months. I have always been very impressed with the appearance and the care given to the kids at this center. My wife drops off my daughters most of the time but I do go there on Fridays once in a while. They do really care of the kids that come here. You get great service for the amount of money you pay. Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Luisa are the best while most of them are good. Ms. Luisa really understands my lil one and I feel very comfortable that she is there to take care like a mother. read more

Being a new mom with no "new mom friends" made it really hard for my husband and I to find a daycare for our daughter in Katy. We moved from Austin and are used to all the reviews online, but there were so few for all the daycares in Katy! Luckily we found My Place, and have been beyond pleased. Our daughter is 6 months old and Catalina greets her every morning as if she were her own. We could not have asked for a better daycare. One thing I really like is in the infant rooms, the caregivers wear shoe covers or no shoes at all. You would not believe all the daycares in town that do not require that, and the babies are all licking the ground where a dirty shoe just stepped. That may not be important to you, but it was to us. When I come to pick my daughter up, Catalina, Carlina or Frola (I might be misspelling all of their names) are loving on my daughter or one of the other children. Point is, they are always giving children individual attention. The owner of the facility is very involved with the children as well and is extremely nice. Oh! Another thing I love, the ladies speak nothing but spanish to my daughter, per my request, as I am hoping this may help her be bilingual :) Really, you can't go wrong with this daycare. We are completely neurotic new parents and very protective of our little one, and all fears were set aside once we started coming here. My daughter will smile and reach for Catalina most mornings, and although I hate to leave her, it warms my heart that she is well taken care of while I'm at work. ********Cinco Ranch-KATY Flewellen Let me start by saying that I was very hesitant to write this review, as I am a first time parent and extremely new to the child care industry. However, I feel that my experience with this facility and it's providers have been so regrettable and disheartening that I feel it is only right to share what my son has been through. My son began daycare in November of 2017 and was withdrawn in January of 2018. Throughout his time there he was put into direct contact with hand foot mouth, he was neglected, abused, and starved. I have spoken with the owner and the director several times and all they can tell me is that they will change their policies going forward and the teacher that is partly responsible for what was done to him is no longer working there. They do have cameras in their rooms but the records erase after 2 weeks. So anything that happened prior, they are unable to access. I would encourage anyone who is wanting to enroll their child at this facility to go into the DFPS website and review their violations. It does not say what actions were taken, so the teacher could possibly still be there. I hope that this information has been helpful to someone as I am hoping to stop any of the horrific details mentioned above from happening to someone else. read more

It was my daughter, whom was only 3 at the time, first time at a childcare center in hope that it be the best experience for her at My early learning center, rather she had the worst experience. We had set up a conference with the manager and the teacher to discuss what we could do to make my daughter stay here more enjoyable. They did not felt the need to listen rather called my child a liar. At 4 years old, now till this day she still has nightmares about this childcare and wish not to come back here again. I walked into this center to inquire about childcare for my son. Coming from a mother who owned and helped open other childcare centers I know red flags. The door was blacked out, The Staff took nearly 6 minutes to open it and when I walked in everyone seemed displaced and were scattering around as if they'd been standing there gathering instead attending the children. The whole staff, from what I could see, was in the foyer so I was confused as to why it took so long to open the door and I'm sure my facial expression gave that away at this point! It didn't smell fresh and when I asked for pricing I was given a dirty wrinkled up paper. I said my son was 21 months and was given a price then told "but there's no space for him until 4 months from now." And when I said perfect he will be 2 (obviously that math should've registered in her mind) she then quickly changed it to "oh well we won't have space for him until December then". I felt very unwelcome and uneasy and would never suggest this childcare to anyone and if I could give 0 stars I would! in fact I'd suggest The Goddard School where they welcomed me in explained everything and encouraged an unscheduled tour! read more

My 10 month old daughter started going there 4 months ago and I have been very happy with the service. Ms. Jacky and Ms. Amelia in infant room are very loving and caring. I have filed a complaint with Local Child Care Licensing against My Place (Woodcreek location) for negligence. After 2 hours my 10 month daughter was dropped off by my husband, I was checking on her as she was sick previous week. When I went to her classroom (Infants B) noticed that her lunch bag was sitting on the shelf with her milk and breakfast, lunch not refrigerated !! Not just that teacher did not feed her breakfast on time and she was 1 hour late for that. I tried to enquire if this was one time instance and what has been happening everyday, but as teacher speaks only Spanish I could not have a conversation with her (I don't speak Spanish). I talked to director and she had no clue what was going on and teacher had no particular reason for not keeping food in fridge or missing to give breakfast. I never got a direct answer on what has been happening everyday. I tried to look into their video recordings and I confirmed that they have not been following instruction on handling food (not warming breakfast/lunch - it goes to kitchen for warming as there is no microwave or crockpot in the classroom and I never saw anyone taking her lunch box out and bringing it back). We had trouble interacting with teachers and providing day to day instructions as most of the teachers for infants class did not speak English well. Director and associate director refused to take any responsibility initially and never even apologized to me for what happened. Their response was teacher should check with us if they have questions and not sure why they didn't. I had to show them video and ask question as who is responsible for giving teachers instructions and supervising them and that has not been happening and so they were also responsible. To this they kept mum. I have also noticed at least twice that teachers left 3-4 month old baby with bottle next to mouth when we were dropping our daughter off to her class. this whole experience was terrible and I took my daughter out of that daycare same day. I also had a conversation with the owner of the daycare and brought this to his attention. I would suggest parents to have surprise visits and check what is going on. If you plan to put your kids here double triple check, watch videos if staff is really following instructions. In our case they kept saying they are but they were not always !! I would not recommend this daycare and definitely want to warn parents to keep watch !! Only good is place is nice and nicely decorated but doesn't matter if they are negligent and irresponsible. read more

My daughter started in the infant room and I have been very happy with MyPlace. The ladies truly care about my daughter and I get a sense that they love how adorable babies can be. I used to feel so horrible leaving my daughter to go to work, but she got used to it right away and would wave goodbye with a smile on her face. Most of the ladies are Latina, and I would ask them to speak Spanish to my daughter because I want to raise her bilingual. They even taught her how to blow kisses. The facility is clean and welcoming, but the outdoor play area for the toddlers isn't ideal. But it's the care from the teachers that is most important to me. read more

I'm giving My Place 2 stars because there were people there that were great with children and very sweet. I thought that the infant room was pretty well run and the kids were well nurtured. It is also a very clean facility. That being said, we removed my nearly 2 year old daughter from there after a year and a half. Here's why: 1. She was bitten 3 times in 3 weeks. The teacher told me herself that if she could dismiss the lighter bites as something else (a scratch or scrape), she would. I was also told that one child in particular had bitten every kid in that room at least once. When I discussed this with the director, she seemed alarmed and she did not know. That's fine, but then no action was taken, or she certainly didn't let me know of the plan. I asked her what it would take to have this particular child suspended, and received no answer. A couple of weeks later, I noticed a bite mark on my daughter's arm. My gut instinct was that they just weren't reporting it now. I brought it up yet again with the director and was dismissed, basically saying that the teachers can't catch everything and they didn't notice. 2 days later, she was sent home with a black eye from a toy that she probably shouldn't have been playing on without close supervision. 2. The food is subpar. The lunches are pretty standard (fish sticks, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.), but are only on a 2 week rotation and are not particularly healthy. I also expressed concern over the snacks- cheez its, crackers, etc. There was never fresh fruit offered as a snack and very rarely anything other than carbs with no nutritional value. I tried to discuss this with the director too and even offered to do some research to find some cost efficient healthier options and was dismissed. We even brought our own fresh fruit for her breakfast for awhile, but it was clear that wasn't going to be ok for very long. 3. There are no clear guidelines for children's development. When it was time for my daughter to move from the infant room to the early toddler room, it didn't happen. And didn't happen. I finally talked to the director to get an idea of timeline and/or what milestones she might be missing to make it happen, since she was running around a room full of 3 month olds (she was well over 12 months by then). I was given a half hearted response....something about walking (which she was doing) and how the infant teachers babied her. She moved over the following week and did very well. Same story when she moved on to the older toddler room. 4. Lack of curriculum. Any curriculum at all is missing until the toddler room (about 18 months). When asked about the curriculum, I was told something along the lines of "You know, we do seasons. Like cotton balls for winter." Frankly, I don't need my 12-24 mo old learning about winter. She needs to learn colors, numbers, letters,etc. The older toddler room did have more of a curriculum, but only consisting of a theme, then coloring printed pictures/papers with the color of the week. There were no regular activities using any other materials or fun items. 5. Spanish as a first language. The vast majority of this staff has Spanish as a first language. That was not a problem really in the infant room, but when she moved up to the next room and began her language development, it would've been nice if she had someone more fluent in English to assist with that. I have no problem with learning Spanish as a second language, but she needs to learn to speak English first. 6. Newer daycare with no 'oversight', so there wasn't much precedent in place for certain situations. I assumed having the director there every day would be a good thing, but she can do what she wants, when she wants, how she wants. It all rolls up to her, so if you don't agree with her, then it doesn't matter. Like I said, my daughter was fine, for the most part. But if I have to work every day, then I'm going to want to be sure that the care she's getting is as good as it can be. And here, it wasn't. read more

It was very difficult for me to have to send my 4 month old to daycare, but she ahs been going for going on 4 weeks now, and I have been comfortable since day 1 of leaving my daughter at My Place. I have some experience with daycares with my older children, but I think My Place exceeds the expectations of what a daycare should be. Everyone is very welcoming, Mrs. Vivian is always there, and the ladies take very good care of my baby girl. Everyone is very personable. read more
