Also - there is very little transparency in the organization. One phone number, have never been able to speak to a supervisor, etc. I had a reclaimed and sentimental piece of marble that was local to the business and I paid top dollar for Marbleworks to pick it up and cut it into two pieces, finish the surfaces and edges and deliver the pieces to me in NYC. They warned me that there were oil stains and I understood. The price included "installation" and mine weren't being installed, but when I questioned it (neither was a countertop) they said that delivery counted as "installation" ... I agreed to the price. BUT they delivered the pieces rubbing up against each other with nothing in between the raw pieces and the largest piece was delivered with a huge -- though not super deep -- scratch -- and the smaller piece was significantly less "shiny" than the larger and with smaller scratched and like it hadn't been cleaned or as polished as the larger. I withheld the balance (about 39% of the total) until the scratches were removed -- it seemed if they WERE installing a countertop they would've done a better job of leaving me with better surfaces. They insisted on a certified check for the balance. I spend $$$ on cancelling a check, getting the certified check and to buy tarps since they'd now be doing the work in my apartment. The first appointment they gave me to fix the scratch they called the day before to reschedule. Okay. The second appointment I waited all day for them to come and at the end of the day they told me they got held up and could not come. I was upset and I told them I needed a first appointment and waited weeks until that appointment could happen. Unfortunately, when they showed up the workmen were told by my building that I needed a COI - Marbleworks did not inform me of this possibility (it seems they should if they know their business) and I was unaware myself. I sent them the sample COI within minutes but was told it would take time for the COI (which, if they had a relationship with their insurance company, should be fast, no?) that the workmen wouldn't wait AND that if I wanted them to come back I would have to pay them an additional $750 on top of what I owe them. I was sorry about the COI issue an will own my ignorance BUT it seemed to me we were even, since I was stood up once and accommodated weeks of rescheduling, and delays - not to mention bad work in the first place. I told them I'd be willing to wait until it was convenient for Marbleworks to get back to the city (vs. insisting on first appointment, etc.) but they said they have no plans to deliver back into the city unless I pay them $750. So they will not accommodate me in any way to fix their shoddy work no matter what my concessions are - without charging me more $$$. They have no interest whatsoever in making this very polite, very patient customer happy - by fixing their shoddy work to begin with. Since I have had no customer satisfaction, I am not going to pay the balance but am instead looking into local marble repair companies. While my sales contact was unfailingly polite, he is so great at stonewalling that I'm guessing he is being incentivized on making me go away and/or pay more $$$ than actually creating a happy customer. I'm looking at beginning a renovation in the next year and I would not deal with them again.

After the worker, George, took old countertop with sink out, I noticed wall damages. I wanted to fix it but he said "I can cover it. I did it many times" the result? See pictures. He couldn't place brackets on one corner of under mount sink due to holes on countertop for brackets were in wrong places. 3 days later, chalk between countertop and under mount sink started to melt. See the picture. I had to apply waterproof chalk by myself in order to prevent further damages. The company offered me to finish waterproof caulking. But looking at their finished low quality work, I declined her offer. The company wrote a long defensive email saying they delivered a high quality work. Their high quality work and my standard have a huge gap. I had to spend more money and labor to fix their work and placing brackets to secure under mount sink. I regret not researching about this company's reviews.

Be very careful if you choose to purchase tiles here, especially in cash. The store is beautiful…read moreand the salesmen are friendly but they are very disorganized and dishonest. We purchased floor tiles and backsplash tiles. When the time came to pick up the floor tiles at the warehouse we were given the wrong tiles. We noticed once we got home and opened the boxes. When we called, they said the warehouse was closing in 30 mins, that we had to wait until Monday and we were alright with that. We just asked that they confirm the correct ones were in stock and they reassured us. Come Monday when we got to the warehouse and took the sample we had with us, they said it was an old tile and that they no longer had it. They gave us a sample of a different tile to take home. We chose to go with that tile and when we went to the warehouse the third time - we were once again given the wrong one. The same wrong ones we were given the first time. They didn't have the tiles of the 2nd sample they had given us either. In the end we decided to just stay with that one. We then decided to return the backsplash tiles and were told there was a 25% restocking fee - when prior to purchasing everything we were always told we could return anything we didn't use without any mention of a fee. When we came to the store and tried to explain all the difficulties we experienced the manager/owner, Anthony, came out, cut us off, and said the fee was non-negotiable, take it or leave it. In the end the salesman who worked with us from the start, Manny, took care of us. But it was overall a very unpleasant experience. Just think twice maybe thrice before purchasing anything here. It seems like they make up prices for items that they don't even have labeled nor are they aware of what is or isn't in stock in their warehouse. The service is very poor and Anthony is uncompromising and very disrespectful. I honestly felt as women they treated us differently, but I haven't personally seen how they treat men.

He wanted full payment and considering his lack of bathroom remodeling skills, hubby cut him loose way before he finished. Thought about taking legal action, but it actually cost more than the bathroom itself. And considering what we went through, a DIY wasn't in the plans- either. We turned a new page and are presently working with an excellent, all-inclusive bathroom contractor who takes care of everything that has to do with renovating our bathroom. Our new contractor had to rip and gut out all of the original contractor's work. Mind you, he and his men are indeed professionals, they pinpointed all the disaster done by that a**hole. Our new contractor provided my husband with a written contract, detailing step by step work to be done and prices to match for our bath. Not to mention, our contractor works closely with Quality Tile. Hubby and I, have been eyeing an on-trend bathroom design from the get-go. So when I came to Quality Tile, it was a matter of selecting shower tiles and floor preferences also. And by the way- quality and prices are great. Both my visits with one of their employees- Peter, was fantastic. He took his time and most of all- was patient as I tried to wrap my head around tile size and style. While on the subject, if you want the best results, stop by. I like doing my sh*t face to face and avoid phone calls as much as possible. But I do understand it may not be easy for folks to come here, but you'll obviously get a better glimpse of tiles up close when you're ready to purchase! So why am I posting all this info here? Because that a**hole doesn't have a Yelp page- nor will I create one for him and primarily alert other homeowners to keep all eyes if you're sensing something's way off with your contractor. Maybe I'm being a bit too eager without our bathroom being finished yet- but our new guys are keeping us in the loop every single step of the way. Hubby and I are really into these guys and their professionalism! And they're bringing it twice-fold!! Listen- for the sake of my safety and my home- I thought about mentioning "XYZ's" name and company's name here and just bring him down. But you know what...I won't. When I arrived, they in fact did not have it in stock. Allegedly (and what seems like a convenient excuse) someone just came in and purchased the last of it. The manner this news was conveyed was that it was my problem not theirs. Sure, it can happen. Respectfully I asked for them to deliver it to me once it arrived and they said only for a hefty charge. I questioned that given the circumstances and a manager came flying in like a bat out of hell. It was not the fact that they would charge me that was the problem, it was HOW he conveyed the message that sealed why I will never go back. Consider trying some empathy and working with customers to find solutions.

Pedro was particularly helpful and knowledgeable. He explained the pricing of the wood, and was able to help me pick the best species for my projects. I had a lot of questions, and he patiently answered all of them. He even helped me go through the scrap pile (which was very reasonably priced) to find the best pieces for me. I would definitely recommend going to M.L Condon for all your lumber needs, as they selection is broad and the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient.

They take into account the over-all look of the design instead of just applying quick fixes. These guys get high marks for reponsiveness; I think we had four in-person on site meetings before we signed on. Throughout the process, they were there for us, for our many questions and concerns. I also liked that they had ideas for us - also helped us with certain elements of the project that we weren't familiar with, like under-cabinet lights. We would definitly work with the Hayes' again.

Plus we had gotten subway tiles (another company) around the same time back in the Spring of '18 to pull the kitchen together for a finished and modern look. Yonkers Cabinets came highly recommended by our initial kitchen tile guy- so we knew we were getting top-notch here. Before anything, these guys did a fantastic job at ripping off the outdated countertops back then- in order to start with a blank canvas. End result was crisp and chic and to this day, the edges between our subway tiles and our countertop are perfectly sealed and that's thanks to these folks and the kitchen tile guy for working together. I keep a glass olive oil bottle with a spout for easy access on my counter. However, I accidentally lost grip of that heavy aS$ olive oil bottle causing it to break- and much worse....chip my new countertop. The chip isn't big at all- actually it's the size of a crumb....small- right? But I get real OCD. And that damn chip has been bothering me ever since- just because I can see it. We paid quite a bit for our solid, slate greyish kitchen quartz counters and the last thing I wanted to do was a do-it-yourself job. I stopped in one morning back in October and my guy Winter was super chill and helpful. All he did was look for our info from his end: address, phone number, color and type of countertop we had gotten- plus he wanted an image of the chip- which I didn't have with me. Winter was able to transfer our contact info to one of Yonkers Cabinets' contractors to come to our house. After all was said and done, our tiny chip repair was more than I expected to pay- but it's so worth it.
