Need a new AC? Don't go through MyFireplace!!! We have a high end 6 year old Lennox AC installed in our home. It was installed by MyFireplace for the previous owners. Last week we noticed that the house wasn't cooling despite the fact that the fan and motor of the AC were running. We called myfireplace and they said that we would only be covered by the manufacturers warranty because we were the second owners of the unit. They wanted $100 to even come out and look at it. We decided to have Finan come out to take a look because they were $50 cheaper. The guy took a look at the machine and deduced that there must be a coolant leak as a result of faulty installation and that we would need a new unit. I've had multiple companies come out to quote us for a new unit, they've all said that this was a high quality AC unit and that it must have been installed incorrectly by MyFireplace. I called MyFireplace back and got the same message- 5 years manufacturers warranty on parts. Super disappointing that they won't stand behind their product and their installation. I certainly won't be giving them my business moving forward. Now I have to spend $5000 replacing an AC that they installed incorrectly. read more

We were removing our old wood fireplace to install an electric insert. they were friendly at the store and we found a large unit that was great. we put a deposit down and the unit took several weeks which was odd considering it was coming from Toronto area. i paid for it when it arrived and then asked to have an estimate for a frame to be bult and brick work That never materialized. I thought I would go on the companies website who made the unit and found it was also sold thru Rona. Needless to say it was about $200.00 cheaper. I removed the old unit myself, built the framework and found a stone mason. Live and learn. read more

We had a new furnace installed by My Fireplace. We used a Costco deal and we were a bit hesitant given that the competitor (Roy Inch) has a great reputation (but was significantly more expensive than the My Fireplace/Costco deal). We spoke to a reference provided by My Fireplace and they were very happy with the service, so we pulled the trigger and the guys from my fireplace came and did our install in one day. The workers arrived exactly when they said they would, installed the furnace in an efficient manner, left their work area very clean, and were very professional in their demeanor. We were very pleased we went with then and would recommend their services to our friends. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. We had our unit installed less than a year ago and it doesn't work. Then they refused to honor our 10 year warranty stating that it doesn't cover home owner negligencee since we had recently changed our filter. They told us to change it at least two times a year, we change it every three months, but unfortunately as the home owner there is not much you can do after the bill is paid and the unit is installed if they don't honor the contract you signed. Also they expect you to pay for a $150 annual inspection to maintain your warranty wich they do not tell you about, not that this matters to us since the unit didn't last a year. read more
