Yesterday I called them, their sales rep Shane came over last evening. He looked everything over and after some discussion on what we wanted we came to an agreement, signed the deal and he said they could do the job today. 2 Installers, Dan and John came this morning at 8am to do the work. These 2 fellows were very professional, answered all our questions and did exactly what we had agreed upon. They cleaned up the work area and explained the operation of the equip. We are very happy with the job they did.

We called M&K and we were very happy that a technician was able to come out that evening. The technician said we needed a new fan module and that parts are usually pretty quick to come in. He suggested though that we call on Monday just to make sure that the part had been ordered. So on Monday, we called and were told that the parts department would give us a call back to give an estimate. On Tuesday morning, we got a text saying that it would be three business days. On Friday morning we called to check in as three business days had passed. We were told the parts department would call us back within 30 minutes. Three hours later they texted, " as per our communication here, the part is coming in on Monday." We were never given any information which is why we phoned them in the first place. So we said this and they answered saying that they had no control. On Monday morning, we called and were told the parts department would call with an update. We received no call. At 2:30 PM we texted the parts department to see if there were any updates. An hour later they texted saying they followed up and will let us know. We responded saying," what do you mean you followed up? It's either there or not." They didn't respond. On Tuesday morning, we called and were again told it was delayed. We asked to speak to a manager. We were told that we would get a call, but it might not be the same day. Then they repeated that they would have the parts department contact us. The customer service rep didn't know the part name or model number. They didn't know where it was and had no tracking number. And they had no idea when a manager would call. Tuesday afternoon we got a call saying the part was in and they wanted to book a time to install for sometime that week. Only after saying how long we had been without air conditioning did they agree to send someone that day. Tuesday late afternoon the installer came. He couldn't get the fan blade off to install it. He came in and asked us to borrow some oil to loosen it. That didn't work. Then he just kept hammering on it to no avail. Eventually, he came in and said he would need to order a new part. We were pretty upset! We explained our situation to him and he told us that the manager was away that week. He told us though that he would forward our situation up to the VP. He also told us that we would be first on the list the next day for service. He insisted that it was a very common part that would be in stock. Wednesday at lunchtime, we reached out to them asking what was going on. We were then told that the part had to be ordered and it would be two business days. We were very frustrated! How is it possible to get things so quickly from other companies, but not them? Then the representative told us that there isn't an actual parts department. They have outsourced all parts of the business. They have to check with their supplier, who then orders the part. Friday at lunch, we called again to ask if the part was in. We were told that it had arrived to the supplier, but there was no one from the company who could go to pick it up and then come to our house to install it. We asked if someone could come on the weekend but we're told that no, that's only for emergencies. So not having an air conditioner working during an extreme heat wave where there are heat warnings issued is not considered an emergency! I wonder what is considered one?? We booked an appointment for Monday afternoon. When the person arrived, he commented that it was cool inside. We had gone out and spent between eight and $900 on portable air conditioners to try and survive the heat wave. There were no apologies from them, he just told us that that is why he recommends that people have a backup plan. So he doesn't trust the products the company sells either. M & K over promised and under delivered multiple times. They were rude and unapologetic. No manager or VP ever follow up including when we cancelled our monthly service plan with them. Needless to say, we will never call them again.
