They said Friday but were able to come Thursday to fix some leaking faucets. The plumber came and was very friendly and helpful. I asked a bunch of questions about other issues we were having and he was happy to answer, even suggested simpler/cheaper solutions to what I was suggesting. I have never really noticed that they are here. I am really glad I noticed them. The staff are really nice and knowledgeable. They always have the little bits and pieces I need. This business appears to have everything you would need. Do not overlook them when you need a piece of something or advice. I wanted to convert a claw foot tub to a shower. I explained what I needed to the sales person.vi was sold an expensive piece of kit. I was assured it would work how I had wanted it to. Two days later got a call saying it would not work and I needed something else (that was considerably more expensive) when I asked why it wouldn't work I was told "I'm not sure but the manufacturer said it wouldn't". The replacement bit didn't fit the tub. I had to re do a fair bit of plumbing to make if fit.... despite assurances that everything would fit/work. The faucet leaked excessively and later discovered it was defective/damaged. Spent a great deal of time trying to fix unfixable leaks. If I spend what I consider a fair bit of money on something, it would be really nice if it wasn't damaged or defective. I would have appreciated a bit of quality control at the retail level as it was clearly damaged. Also the store hours are very inconvenient. Generally not too happy. read more

Amateur plumber here.... and when I say amateur I mean I can do minor household repairs with help from online tutorials! So when my roman tub faucet was leaking I was able to deduce that the problem was with the cold water valve/cartridge. I removed the valve and cartridge from the tub and found that the cartridge was odd, in that it was almost entirely brass and not like the common cartridges I found online that would have made the repair simple. Furthermore, there was no identifying branding on the faucet itself as to what make/model it was. At the end of my limited knowledge/experience, I thought I would seek out assistance from the experts and brought the valve and cartridge to Household Plumbing for their insight. I asked staff if they had the cartridge I needed and with no more than a glance, they said they've never seen it before. I had to insist several times to even get the staff to physically pick up the cartridge and look at it. I was asked what brand it was, which, yes I know, would help immensely, but advised that I was unsure as I did not install the original faucet, and they said they couldn't help me without knowing the brand. I then asked what they suggested and the response was, "I don't know," before moving onto something else, offering no further help. Now, I understand if, in fact, they don't know exactly what part it is, but I expect a little more effort in trying to help me find out. A comparison to other in-stock parts or a catalogue search could have at least pointed me in the right direction. Also, I'm not a fan of the "upsell", but for a business that both sells parts as well as does its own service, I would expect that they might want to help a potential customer out and offer another product (complete faucet set), compatible part (different valve assembly), or even try to convince me to have their service department do the work themselves. Sales person did not provide adequate information when we were making our purchase. Essentially left out key sizing and installation data required. In following up we dealt with two people - including the owner - who advised us that "it is not our job to educate you" and that "you should've known" and finally that it was "your fault". In speaking with others since, I have heard the same thing - it is always the customers fault. They took no responsibility for the lack of information provided... The good news is that everything is in and we will be buying the vanity top, shower glass, fixtures etc. elsewhere. read more
