I am in love with this store. The inventory is so wonderful it's hard to choose what to purchase.

We were a few minutes early for a dinner reservation nearby and happened in to browse and wound up leaving with an armful of things for ourselves and presents for people we know would love the awesome merchandise found here. We started with a small hand puppet for our daughter and next thing you know, we bought a lamp and a very cool glittery hat for a friend and a sweatshirt that we thought was very cool. Great place to buy that gift for someone special. They specialize in Victorian reproduction items, a lot of plates and wall hanging items with inspiration messages of love and marriage etc and just plain ole interesting gifts for that person that is hard to buy for. Parking, weather, locating was a bit of work. Once settled was able to enter and browse. Its a quaint little shoppe in this little town along25A. It seems that the shoppers r all locals who know the gentleman and gal runnung the shop. They have soaps,trinkets, blouses, shawls, wallets, gems, lamp shades, those who passed rocks, garden items and baby selections. There are a grand variety of itens hanging from the ceiling. Please lol. Up. He puts beautiful selections on the front walkway. Rugs, planter holders, umbrellas, trinkets and other things you can. Justify buying as they are gorgeous. Pretty store, nice town and a small parking loylt across the way ...PLEASE use caution crossing that street "main st" 25A ... Use the flags- danger...... speeders..... otherwise enjoy this hidden little trendy spot with the girls. read more

I was taking a walk with my husband in Cold Spring Harbor in Dec 2020 and as the store looked very inviting, I went into browse They have so much varied merchandise --jewelry, slippers, soaps, face masks, scarves etc and every item is lovely and fairly priced. I bought a "magnetic" cat pin and the pin actually affixes to your clothing with a magnet on the pin's back with a separate magnetic disk and your clothing fitting in between the 2 magnets. What a great idea !! They put the pin into a a cute pouch and it is closed with a beautiful voile flower with pearls--so beautiful for presenting as a gift. This store is incredible. I discovered it when taking a day trip to Cold Spring Harbor. I was strolling along on the sidewalk during the cold winter when I came across My Favorite Place. I remember that it was snowing, flakes falling from the ground in beautiful specks of white light. The minute I walked in to the store, I was overtaken by an overwhelming flood of colors: pinks, blues, purples, etc. And I was even more surprised when I saw chandeliers and light fixtures of all sizes, all colors, hanging from the ceiling. There were colors streaming the room. And I was amazed at the sense of beauty and magic that the store held. This place had plenty: pencils, stuffed animals, bags, pictures, hats, kitchen supplies, home decor, anything you could think of. And when walking in, the owner of the store was kind. Everything about this store is perfect. The decorations, the people, even the smell of the store. A sweet fragrance fills the room. Relaxing, piano music is even played. I just wanted to say that this store is perfect, a great place for all to visit, whether you're looking for something to get for a friend or family member, are looking for the perfect store to go to, etc. Anyway, this store is perfect and I had an amazing experience here. read more

This is the most delightful store I have ever shopped in over my 72 years. The proprietor, BILL, is a perfectionist when it comes to decorating his shop. It's truly fun to look through all the items. You have to go back through the sections several times because you tend to miss some" gems" There are pieces there you will not see elsewhere. Yet as my 13 year old granddaughter discovered, the prices run from the very reasonable. It's always fun to shop and dine in Cold Spring Harbor, and this Gem of a shop should never be overlooked. Heartbroken. Seriously. I walked into this store with the intention of getting one birthday gift. Then fell in love...at first. Met Bill who was originally super nice and helpful. I happily changed my mind and planned to get extra gifts for family & friends. I even told him i'm in love with his store. Things took a turn when i asked what his return policy was just in case the recipients wanted an exchange. I know this is a small mom n pop shop and that's why i shopped here, i didn't want a refund, just reassurance that my recipients had at least an option if they really didn't like their gift. Sadly his response, "...at this point i'd say shop somewhere else. You ask too many questions. They're not gonna want to return their gifts. " which was followed with a laugh to soften his words. Yikes. This came out of nowhere and made me doubt myself, i told myself "he was joking, don't be silly. " A part of me said, "walk out! another part of me said give the guy a break." I stayed, foolishly wanting that fuzzy love at first sight feeling to return, and bought four items. My plans of returning with friends and family are out the door though.
