Great room, fun time, challenging but fun! Room could have used a lil love, but that's minimal.

we had called ahead of time and no one answered so we came in for a walk-in and waited an hour for an employee in an empty building.

Elusive Escape Rooms - We broke out!

Elusive Escape Rooms

(59 reviews)

My wife decided she wanted to try something different with the kids for fun being it's been way to…read morecold to go outside and play. She surprised us all with a fun trip to the Wisconsin Dells to the famous "Elusive Escape Rooms" right in the middle of town. My wife called and spoke to a very nice gentleman named Bill to inquire about all the details we needed to know prior. As a family we had never experienced an escape room before. This is were the real fun began. We had to reserve a time slot... We picked a themed mission from several different choices this company offers. We picked one that was to our experience level and theme we thought the kids would love. We paid over the phone and away we went. We showed up right on time and was giving a brief description of what to expect from Bill (the owner) when we entered the room excited and nervous. I spoke with Bill for a few moments and he was very nice, informative, and great with the kids. He explained that he is a local area farmer and his family created this business to help keep his struggling farm afloat during these unique years! I thought to myself what a hard working family and much deserving of our business. So I hope this review I post brings you in more business in the future. Anyways we were told that we had 1 hour to complete our mission. Our goal was to conjour up a potion spell to awaken our Professor in the Enchanted Potion Room. In we went and the fun began..... We had no clue what to do when we first entered but slowly started to figure things out. One clue leads to another kind of a thing. If you are stuck or get into any trouble you can ask for help at any given time. You area watched and listened to the entire time for your help and safety. There is a TV monitor that gives you clues only if you ask for them. You only get so many though and then you are on your own. We choose to let our 7 year old do most of the thinking and the work to figure things out. There was some tough clues, puzzles to be mastered, riddles to be solved, secret code combinations to solve, keys to be found and so much more. We (the adults) needed some help along the way, but as a family of 4 we had an absolute blast trying our best to solve everything. We were able to make it out of the room with a whopping 37 seconds to spare. How about that for a families 1st time. VICTORY! We all agreed that we would come back to this location and try another challenge. The prices we felt we really fair, the rooms were set up super cool, it was very clean inside and most of all the people who were working the business were very friendly and helpful. Customer service experience was 5 star alone. Looking for something new and different to try with your family in the Dells. This place can accomadate just that! Depending on your experience level and size of group there is a perfect challenging activity awaiting for any age group to do together. Especially perfect for the colder months when you can't be outdoors. Perfect team building exercise for companies and their employees. Good Luck you will need it!

This place has three escape rooms to solve. Their entry-level room is a mission to Mars, their…read moremiddle-level room is a quest to get to shelter because a tornado is coming, and their hard-level room is a quest to save yourself from the sinking Titanic. If you haven't done escape rooms before, you should definitely do the Mars one. It's fun for beginners. It's also cheaper and takes a shorter time duration. There aren't as many puzzles to solve as the middle level or most difficult one. But, it's still quite fun to do. The most fun is in the tornado room. They had an option to do it with the lights on or off, and we chose to leave the lights on. There is enough going on already, and we didn't need to be distracted by having it be too dark. The puzzles are a little tougher, and this one takes a full hour to finish. The theme is great, and the variety of things to solve is perfect. It's not just a routine of solving one number code after another. The toughest one is the Titanic room. And, I can't help but lower my rating of this place from 5 stars to only 4 stars as a result. I don't mind that it's tougher. That's fine, and that's not the reason I am deducting a star. There's a difference between making something tougher, vs. making something that absolutely nobody would understand. This room is around half of the size of the tornado room, yet, it has double the amount of things to solve. And, frankly, some of the puzzles are just a bit too cryptic for my liking. They just went a little too far with confusing things to figure out, that didn't really lead anywhere. It's a shame, because 70% of this room has some really great features that most people will really have fun with. But, about 30% of the stuff you need to solve is just impossible without taking clues from the staff, and even after getting the clues, it still doesn't make much sense. And, they really need to make this one 1.5 hours long to accommodate all of the things you need to finish. Overall, though, I'd recommend any of these rooms, even the difficult Titanic room. I just think that room needs a little more time allotted, and a bit of tweaking to a few of the puzzles to make them more reasonable.

The Deliciouser - Trying new spices

The Deliciouser was a surprisingly inviting restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere and eclectic menu…read more The service was outstanding from hostess to wait staff. For starters, the non-alcoholic drink menu was greatly appreciated in "sober October." A few non-alcoholic wine options were surprisingly tasteful -- literally: 1) Serena Mode 0.0 Sauvignon Blanc '24 Central Valley, CL (Green Apple, Peach - Herbaceous); and, 2) Oddbird Sparkling Blanc de Blancs, FR (Green Apple, Lemon Peel, Honey -- Dry). My food was delectably delicious!!! Here's what I ate--and I consumed all of it--every morsel it was that good: Appetizer: Signature Mignonette Oysters: Champagne Vinegar, Herb Oil, Lake Superior Gold Caviar ($4.5 / $50 Dozen) Entree: Pan-Seared Halibut: Night Market Carrot Purée, Pea Shoots, Pickled Celery and Kimchi Consommé. I skipped the dessert though the offerings looked divine (dessert menu attached as a photo), but did enjoy the coffee! My wife and daughter absolutely raved about their dinners -- Grilled Petite Lettuces -- Happy Camper Oyster Vinaigrette, Citrus, Olive Oil Breadcrumbs topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano Night Market Thai Beef Salad -- American Wagyu Bavette Steak, Coconut, Peanuts, Chrysanthemum Greens, Fish Sauce Vinaigrette. Finally, I can't wait to come back because as you can see my family killed the Pistachio Cake (Lemon-Pistachio Relish, Labneh, Za'atar)!

While the dining room doesn't lend itself to a romantic evening (bar overlooking the kitchen, a few high tops and communal long tables), the rest of the experience is top notch. I stopped In for lunch and ordered the ginger fried chicken. A savory flavor bomb, the chicken was perfectly fried and moist and the brioche bun outstanding. I loved the chili crisp mayo along with the house made pickles. I was stuffed but the housemade malt gelato and brioche ice cream sammy called my name. Yes, it was rich. True, it was decadent. Valid, tons of calories. But....so so good. A must try in the land of landscape of very non-original restaurantsrestaurants that seem to be popping up in Madison.
