Wonderful place! We love their charcuterie boards. They are a great gift to brighten up someone's day.

Hello there! My husband and I stopped by Norma Jean's for…read morethe first time yesterday, and I just had to say; It was truly the best ice cream we've had in ages! We usually go to the Chillers in Crothersville, but lately their blizzards have been a bit disappointing--hardly any candy mixed in. I got the Oreo, and let me tell you, there were chunks of cookie in every single bite. The young ladies working were kind and helpful--quick to answer any questions we had. The service was prompt, and the ice cream was just delicious. We'll absolutely be coming back more often. What a gem of a place! Cleanliness outside could be better but other than that great experience!

That place is quickly going to the toilet. The concrete needs a good pressure wash. The lights…read moreare busted and full of dead flies and other bugs. A very noticeable dead roach laying on its back by the trash can(which was noticed by a senior lady while there with her other senior friends). The little girl at the window was barely smarter than a box of rock, and keep getting orders wrong with the help of whoever the cook was. The tall girl at the other window had an attitude like ' here is your flipping food, have a nice day'. The construction guys in front of us had to go up to the window several time because they only got part of their order, and when they got it all, some was wrong. I ordered a dressed burger, no tomato, mustard no ketchup. I got a burger with pickles ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. My wife ordered an chocolate ice cream tornado and got vanilla. I heard several people complaining about one thing or another. Wow. Make them change the name to "come and get what you get and don't complain ice cream."

I think one of the positives has been a renewed emphasis on discovering and really supporting local. One of my discoveries during this time has been Monastery Baked Goods, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana offering baked goods that are sold in support of the ministries and mission of the Sisters of St. Benedict. If you've never been to the Ferdinand, Indiana area I regard it as a rather holy place. There's simply a sacred feeling being there and I've come across in my life a couple of the Sisters of St. Benedict including one teacher who was key in finding out how I learn best. She almost single-handedly guided me as I went from a C+ student in high school to a college valedictorian. So, when I discovered this way I could have tasty treats and support the Sisters of St. Benedict I was all about it! Monastery Baked Goods began as an outreach by the Sisters during Christkindlmarkt, an annual German festival held in Ferdinand. They started making and selling springerles, a German cookie. From there, they experimented and began making the almond-based almerles. They then began offering a cookie in honor of the 12th century mystic St. Hildegard. Simply Divine Bakery was formed, but in 2015 the name changed to Monastery Baked Goods as a way to truly identify a relationship with their monastery. They have an online gift shop that includes bourbon-soaked fruitcake, springerles, Hildegard cookies, St. Hildegard Crunch Mix, Hildegard mini-cookies, Simply Lemon cookies (these are wonderful), gingersnap cookies (these are wonderful), chocolate shortbread cookies, shortbread cookies, buttermint with chocolate cookies, prayerful pretzels (these are awesome), and a bunch of other options. They also offer gluten-free options and recently introduced mint julep cookies. They offer bundles and specialty options. They offer their products wholesale and in Indy you can get them at A Taste of Indiana at 65th and Binford. Prices vary, though I've found them incredibly reasonable and, of course, they also support a good cause. While many religious communities continue to suffer in terms of numbers, it seems like the Sisters of St. Benedict continue to do well. The Monastery Baked Goods website is a page on the Sisters website and it's inspiring to see new Sisters commit to monastic life and to see all the ministries of the Sisters of St. Benedict. I'm inspired by this ministry and I love the products. While I don't get to Ferdinand often, it's nice knowing that I can still support the ministry as I live only about 10 minutes from A Taste of Indiana and can pick up my Monastery Baked Goods there.

They carry a slew of other dairy products such as cheese and butter. Flavors of ice cream vary as well as store hours based on the season. I believe their facebook page gives the most reliable source for hours, typically 11-9 through the summer. Staff is always super friendly, typically you'll just see Mrs. Rowlett making and serving ice cream while her brother is busy with the various cheeses and butter. Prices are sure to not break the bank and will certainly yield more than a few smiling faces indulging in such wonderful products. Craving more than a scoop or two? Well they've got half gallons ready to go home with you currently priced $12/each. My kids say Rowlett's is the best and I wholeheartedly agree!

I promise you, you've never tasted anything close to the coffee ice cream at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery. You'll thank me later. I took advantage of this beautiful fall day to drive to Campbellsvirg in Henry County and see this place for myself. Our office gets special treats on birthdays and I got to enjoy the coffee ice cream and I was in love. The texture was like silk on your tongue. The hint of coffee was just enough to fit through the sweetness to make it out of this world divine!!!!! So I'll shut my piehole about the coffee ice cream and talk about the other things Rowlett's has to offer. They have a large variety of cheeses, ice creams, ice creams and butter. I was looking forward to buying some butter for the banana bread I'm getting ready to make; however, they were sold out. Oh well, i'll have to make another trip there I guess. This business is locally owned by brother and sister Terry and Sharon Rowlett. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon when I visited today and she was as nice as she could be. This is most definitely worth the drive and a great way to support local business. Y'all gotta make the trip. You won't regret it.
