Construction probably began on this the newest expansion of this St. Vincent's One Nineteen campus…read moreabout 2 years ago. This Outpatient Surgery Center celebrated it's one year anniversary January of this year so they are quite "new". They are located right beside the original One Nineteen Wellness Center which houses physician groups on the top floors while the bottom floor is a complete gym with swimming pool. In fact, they even share the same parking lot. This outpatient surgery center can be compared to the "North Tower" which is located on the campus of the original St. Vincent's Hospital in downtown Birmingham. While the North Tower is larger and more established, it is also older and much busier. This new outpatient center has four state of the art operating rooms and 9 recovery bays. Equipped with the latest technology, they provide a wide range of same-day procedures but they specialize in spinal and GI. A year ago my Mother-in-law had to undergo her first epidural and she went to the the North Tower. Her 2nd epidural was also there but her next one and her most recent was here at this outpatient center. What a stark difference! Parking was ample. Accessibility, ambience, front desk staff, nurses... all professional, amazing, kind and friendly! I'm not necessarily implying that the staff at the North Tower are any less dedicated, but from a patient point of view, the experience is much more "pleasant" at this location. Their spotless lobby has a big tv to keep you entertained if you're waiting for a loved one who is having a procedure and they even have a small room off to the side where they have a Keurig type coffee maker for free coffee. I suspect that as word of this facility grows and more physicians gain access, it will become more popular, but for now if you are planning to have a same day surgical procedure, inquire if your surgeon has privileges here at this outpatient center. It would be worth a drive.

The staff at Camillia worked diligently to acquire them prior to my appt so the radiologist would be able to compare images. I greatly appreciated their collective efforts, especially since I had waited almost a month for the initial appt. I will return for my next one. The front desk ladies, the techs, and the Dr were all efficient, thorough and kind. My appt was at 8:00 and I left at 8:25 with results having been discussed with me and a confirming letter in hand. This operation knows how to schedule and make the best use of everyone's time! Very pleased.

I recently delivered my first baby at UAB and was very pleased and satisfied with the services received. The doctors, nurses, technicians, lactation specialists, and everyone else that I saw during my stay were excellent. I know that UAB is not the first hospital that comes to mind when thinking about where to deliver your baby in Birmingham, but it was a no brainer for me. Being connected to Children's Hospital brought a piece of mind had my daughter needed those services. In addition, UAB is the only hospital in the state with high-risk maternal and fetal physicians available in-house 24/7 and the only Maternity Evaluation Unit. I want to give a special shout out to the lactation services, and specifically Barbara. She has been instrumental in helping me with this feeding journey. Even 8 weeks postpartum I'm able to call to ask questions or come in for weighted feedings. 10/10 would recommend UAB!

The staff is so friendly and they are always caring. They take proper precautions during COVID-19 and I feel safe coming into the office for visits. The parking deck can be hectic, especially with construction going on. So you have to park in the other deck and just walk across the street. This is not too bad because I had a morning appointment and found easy parking. I tried to do valet, but they were so busy. So I just went in the deck and parked. They validated my ticket since I had an appointment in the Women's center for testing. So this was a plus. My wait time was very short and I felt very well taken care of. I highly recommend this facility, where I am treated like family by the friendly staff. I am happy that I was recommended to go there for testing.

I had to be there 30 minutes before my appointment since I was a new patient there. It was a bit of a waste because I printed and completed all my paperwork beforehand so the wait was wasteful. Also, my appointment didn't start until 17 minutes after the set time so I waited around for about 45 minutes. However, the ultrasound tech was delightful! She talked my husband and me through everything she saw and was talking note of as she performed the ultrasound. Everything is going well with the baby!

He saw I was pre-diabetic and asked when my next diabetes test was because the Cortizone shot would produce a sugar spike. He even told me that a bone that I broken 2 years ago had healed. He was also a good communicator, showed compassion, calm demeanor. He treated me like a person and when he injected my hips, I felt almost nothing. All other bursa hip injections that I have had have hurt immensely (APP, UAB higlands ground floor). Either medication has changed since then or he is a highly skilled Doctor who can inject without even hurting you. Amazing! I would have liked the receptionist to be much more polite and speak more clearly. She seemed impatient. I don't think it was because the practice was busy, when I got there an hour later it was empty, but who knows. The waiting room was comfortable, clean, cool with cold water bottles to drink! The trainers at her high school recommended an x-ray so we brought her here. Located in the relatively new and very nice and eclectic "Brocks Gap", OS1 is in between a ballet studio and Moe's BBQ. Also in the same strip are The Trak Shak, Whole Scoop Ice Cream Shop, Santos Coffee and Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen. A very small front door leads to a modest and simple waiting room with a complimentary Keurig and canned sodas. There's a small counter with a receptionist. OS1 calls themselves a Sports Injury Clinic and indeed they are. They have trained sports medicine specialists on site. They have convenient hours closing as late as 7. They claim to be less expensive than the ER with decreased wait times. Finally, they can take X-rays and have MRI equipment on-site! We arrived with our injured daughter about 40 minutes before closing. They normally don't see new appointments past 6, but we were greeted with a friendly face and after checking w/ the medical staff, they immediately took Sarah "to the back" while Tammy filled out the paperwork. In about 10 minutes, we were back in the exam room where Dr. Beidleman was already examining her ankle. From start to finish, we were walking out of OS1 in about 30 minutes. Dr. Beidleman was kind, sincere, sympathetic and most of all professional. His nurse who came in to help show Sarah how to use her fancy boot was also fantastic. Everyone who was there was extremely friendly to the point that it kind of creeped me out... in a good way! So having said all that, I need to add that at 7pm, the NCAA National Championship game Georgia vs Alabama was going to be broadcasted and their entire staff might have been trying to get us out as quickly as possible. Also, since it was the last hour before close, there wasn't any other patient there so we were their center of attention. Would our experience be any different if the NC game wasn't coming on at 7 or if we were there in the middle of the day with 5 other patients?!? I don't know. But I do know that this experience was exceptional and we will be returning. In fact, we have a followup appointment in a week. I'll write an update...
