What an absolute gem. I was looking for a convenient liquor…read morestore near a friend's house and I happened upon The Caveau. I had heard whispers of some little Francophile wine shop in East Lake Highlands neighborhood last year. And I was excited to be heading there to choose some thing tasty to go with dinner. I try to drink only organic wine and I had old world reds on the mind. I didn't have a lot of hope that I would find these en masse but I was wrong! I was greeted promptly by a friendly gentleman who very clearly appeared to be the owner. I told him what I was looking for and he just started handing me bottles! I had to tell him to stop at five because my arms could not hold any more. :) ...and they were all organic!! His stories started coming out about small Italian family wineries and minerally French soil...and I wished I could just stay and hang out and hear about all of these treasures. It was truly a collection. And it was not overrun with cases and cases of dusty wine. It was airy and beautiful and well presented. The most impressive thing was that everything I bought was under $20. I've worked through nearly all of them to this point and I will tell you that they were all delicious. My only regret is that I no longer live in Dallas and I have to drive four hours to get back to that little wine shop and stock up soon! Just go! You will be delighted.
