    Southwest Chicken and steamed broccoli

I took my mom to eat at MVPs for her 29th birthday (her choice). When we arrived the restaurant was very slow for a Sunday at noon after church. The restaurant was clean, the waitstaff was attentive but just a little slow for a slower day. It took our waiter a long time to come back with refills and ur ticket etc. He was very friendly. I had the Southwest chicken which was really good. The rice was just a little too salty. My mom had the steak kbobs and she said they were very good. Overall it was a good experience.

App trio. Choices were pickles, spicy cheese curds, and boudin balls. All were very tasty!

First stepping in we were pleasantly greeted. Menu has tons of options for any picky eater. Prices were average. Service was kind and attentive. Highly recommend the app trio. It was the MVP for our lunch.

MVPs is a new restaurant it's a sports bar restaurant with a variety of foods to choose from. They have pictures of local residents who have become professional athletes on tables which is Verrett interesting. My husband had the ribs, French fries and mashed potatoes he said he loved the food he also had fried pickles that he enjoyed. I had the chicken fried steak I must say it was one of the best one's I've tasted, my sides consisted of rice pilaf and garlic mashed potatoes whicH was also great. My husband and I also tried the alcoholic beverages which was the hurricane and huckleberry dream thumbs up for the drinks. Everything we had was good and wood definitely eat there again.

First things first- this place would thrive in a large city as well as the cute town of Jasper! First impressions- Up to date interior, kind inviting staff, and solid menu. I took a bar seat because I enjoy the conversation and was told their cocktails were worth the try. The drink was well made, both bartenders have pervious experience and were very attentive. We ordered our lunch at the bar as well. First dish was chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were not over battered or had any indication of being previously frozen. They were fresh and crispy just like I make at home. The second dish I ordered was chicken Alfredo. The unique spin they put on the dish was at the least refreshing! Has some fresh veggies and the sauce was not cakey. It was flavorful and smooth. Beautiful sauce. The best part however was the grilled chicken. You could taste the grill on the chicken, it was tender and falling apart. Thank you for the kind personable experience above all else.

Cute atmosphere! The food was just okay. Anything fried was completely greasy! Service was slow.

My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday night and it just happened to be Karaoke night! I immediately signed up to do "Good Ole Boys Like Me" by Don Williams. Which I then nailed! I ordered shots and they were sorta more like half shots. That's the only thing keep this place from being five stars. It might have something to with the fact that they were in a dry county I dunno. If you wanna experience the local aesthetic of Jasper this is the place to do it. If you driving through stop and prepare yourself for some local culture.

What a gem this place is! When you get outside of Beaumont the bars and places to go out are…read morereally few and far between. If I lived in the area I would likely be calling the Happy Cajun my second home. The bar is full of locals. It was a Saturday night when we stopped in and every Saturday is karaoke night. Steve H and I quickly made friends with the guy running the karaoke - he was awesome and did a great job! I drank some gin and tonics and had a couple of shots and enjoyed the atmosphere. The shots were a little small, so not sure what was up with that. I assumed it had something to do with the dry county and how you have to have a membership to drink. This is the kind of place where people are friendly and everyone is welcome it seemed. I saw all walks of life in the bar, which is always a good thing. The bartenders were great! There were pool tables and people having a great time all around. I could tell the people singing karaoke get lots of practice and likely sing the same songs over and over, but that is another reason why this bar was so awesome. It almost felt like going back in time a bit here too. The bar is a little divey and kind of a whole in the wall place, but this all adds to the persona of the bar. If you are camping down the road at Martin Dies State Park or just need a place to get away, have a couple of drinks and meet some nice people then stop in at the Happy Cajun because this place was bad-ass and a diamond in the rough!
