I initially wanted to sign up for an aerial yoga class, but was prompted to take a "beginner" pole…read moreclass instead because it started sooner. It turned out the class was a Beginner II rather than an intro, and the instructor was more of a demonstrator than a teacher. Despite struggling, I still enjoyed the class enough to sign up for a second session. That session was oversold, as the only pole available had a huge floor flaw that was TAPED over. Over the course of the class, the tape and adhesive became tackier and eventually ruined the shoes I was wearing for the first time. This resulted in my shoes literally sticking to the floor, so I couldn't complete a move and ended up painfully smashing my knees against the edge of the pole base, resulting in bruises on both. Despite being oversold and unsafe, the studio refuses to refund my session fee. I had two credits from signing up for the first session, and I asked for a refund after the 2nd class of the 2nd session. I should have my entire fee refunded, but they took two weeks to write me back and let me know that because the semi-present instructor didn't know I was in pain, they are going to KEEP MY MONEY?!?! The instructor saw me trying to remove the tape and goo from my shoes, but they are literally going to try to weasel out of being accountable with this. They should refund me for my session, replace my shoes, and acknowledge that their studio is UNSAFE, their classes are oversold, and their practices are shady. Really disgusted by the entire experience, it's a shameful way to run a business, and the lack of concern and support is negligent and irresponsible.

Michelle was very patient with our group, and helped us maneuver around the unknown of aerial fitness. The studio is split in two: one side for aerial fitness, and the other for poles (both are offered in 8 week packages). The studio also hosts various other classes such as women's self defense and hula hooping. The workout was definitely challenging, but we all had so much fun! I highly recommend this studio for anyone interested in trying aerial fitness or pole classes!

They…read moreopen at 6am and I was 10 min early and Steph was already there since they knew I was a newcomer and gave me the rundown of the class and facilities. Facilities were clean and bathroom was well-stocked with amenities for women. Steph was an amazing instructor, kept eye on my form and reminded me about what certain stations were since I forgot my contacts and couldn't see the big screen from the backmost station. She does a run through of all stations beforehand and you cycle 3 times through each section. There were 3 total sections with 4 exercises each. F45 can seem intimidating, but as a more yoga/pilates-inclined person who doesn't run or do weights often, this was very beginner-friendly and doable since they have weights/equipment befitting all levels. And you definitely get a good workout. Also, Steph has a great playlist and was super nice to have the class congratulate me for my first F45 class. Very welcoming, non-judgmental environment for people at all stages in their fitness journey. Like previous yelp reviews have said - the MWF are resistance/strength workouts, TTh are cardio, Sat/Sun are a pretty even mix. They also have Hyrox specific classes on certain days for those training. Parking lot available.

She really knows how to manage a class so that everyone gets individual attention and can follow properly. The intro belly dance class (Belly dance for FUN) runs on Sundays at 1 pm for an hour and a half. The studio recently moved to Kids Kaberet, off of Quincy in the middle of an industrial park. The facility is great - you get to dance on stage! I highly recommend the class. Raksanna knows a lot about different belly dance styles, and is very invested in her work. The women who attend the classes seem to be a great group of people of all ages and types. It's a very welcoming group. I'm glad I found it.

Once inside you have to walk up to the second floor. Dance studio for class was big and spacious. It was one of three different studios. This space is huge. Class started with warm-up which got your blood flowing. Warmup included pushups so grab floor mat if not keen on doing them on hard wooden floor. Dance class was tough. Prior dance experience is needed. You don't have to be a professional but need to be able to pick-up choreography quick. Sometimes you will learn (2) 8 counts together and then move on very quickly. The style of dance seemed like Jazz, Theater and Pop. I liked it but I usually dance hip-hop, latin or African. It was a change of pace but Julia made it super fun. With this particular routine there was a plank portion, I skipped it because I just didn feel like it. Julia prepared me that the routine did include this in an 8 count. I just added some bodyrolls and called it a day. Most of the people in class seemed to be regulars. Everyone was friendly. After 44 mins of dancing, we finished with some toning that included an arm song. After putting light weights down, Julia stretched us to the max. THANK GOODNESS I would come back and groove some more. I honestly just wanted to delay working on a memo so thats why I signed up on Class Pass at last minute.

The traditional class is one hour long with warm-up and cool down. In the traditional format you learn 1 minute of choreography. 1 minute doesn't sound like a lot but that is several different eight counts. At the end of class you do an optional group performance. I always get a really good workout (400 kcal burned at least) every time that I signed up for class. My other favorite class that I like to attend is the non-stop cardio format which is 45min. This reminds me more of Zumba or Werk, were you follow the teacher for the dance moves and there is multiple songs. In the traditional format, you have the same song the whole class. Which is nice because you get to know the type of music and instructor before class. The music choices vary: Latin, pop, hip hop, 90s, 00s, and various others types. This location is relatively new but so far the community is diverse and well rounded. The owner Julia has done a good job of keeping the momentum going. What I like is that they do so much outside of dancing such as Diva Dates and neighborhood outings. I recommend giving this a try if you like dancing and being around some amazing people. The instructors have various techniques and I am thrilled when I leave class learning something new. I believe your first class is free, so come check it out.

HELL I THINK I SAW YOU! it was completely different from day one! The workout was tough but I pushed through with my new name. THE ROOKIE.. he was paying attention to me... Day 3... oh Lord... I wondered did someone come in my head and pull out my thoughts and told them to him?!!! Boy was I wrong to even think that this would be anything short of amazing! I've also signed up for classes beyond the groupon which was pretty reasonable as well! I'm looking forward to seeing what the next 30 days holds at H&H!!! Even though I loved dance and had no fear of performing, the one that always made me feel uncoordinated and self-conscious was any sort of unscripted booty shaking in front of others. It's still rare that you'll finding me dancing with reckless abandon outside the confines of my home unless there are serious amounts of booze involved. Until now that is. I entered the DDPP studio full of excitement and trepidation, still unsure if I could really let loose in a room full of strangers without some liquid courage. All my nervousness quickly melted away as I saw women of all ages, colors, shapes and sizes filter into the studio; the veterans full of excitement and positive energy. I paid my $5 and figured that worst that could happen was that I'd give a room full of mostly strangers some comic relief. As has been mentioned before, the studio is nothing fancy, but for this it really doesn't need to be. There are a few mirrors, some rope lights along the floor and a light machine. The music is courtesy of guest DJ's, not pros, but fellow DDPP'ers; you only need to attend once before becoming one. There aren't many rules to DDPP, but the two key ones are no judgment of yourself or others and no talking (singing along is ok). I'm still working on that first rule; I was truly wowed by the other ladies in the room and silently quite critical of my own, but the dimmed lights helped me work on my inhibition. A warm up and cool down song sandwich the non-stop dance party. You can move with as much intensity as you like, but it's hard not to get caught up in the infectious energy in the room. As far as apparel is concerned, anything goes. However, I would strongly suggest layers and breathable fabrics, leave the denim at home but defo bring a water bottle and maybe even a hand towel. I consider myself to be in decent shape and it wasn't long before I was crazy sweaty and a touch winded. If you're looking to work out some emotions, burn some calories or simply get your grove on, you've got to try it - it probably will cost you less than some fancy Starbucks drink. I may never convince myself that I look any better than Elaine Benes on the dance floor, but I'm working on not caring.
