If parking is a bigger deal to you I've heard the 22nd Street Station (one stop from here closer to San Francisco) has more residential street parking. There's one lane for trains going to San Francisco and another going to San Jose. If you're taking the southbound train, you'll have to take the stairs or elevator and cross the bridge. Note that they do not have restrooms. Depending on which zone you're getting on and off will determine the price that you pay. Just remember that you need to pay before you board. You can scan your Clipper card at their kiosks or buy one on-site. Pro tip: if you have an iPhone you can set up a digital transit card and refill your transit card with your credit card. It's not located in the best part of town but as long as you stay alert of your surroundings and avoid being here at night as much as possible, you should be fine.

You can see the Cow Palace from this station. It is a bit of a walk to businesses, and there in an hour between stops , so it is not too convenient if you don't get there at the right time. It is a pretty quiet station.

It just seemed like that, but at the same time, every thing on the bus was moving extra slow and trippy. This had nothing to do with how I was feeling. Finally I pulled the stop cord, thinking we'd stop by my house. NO. The stop he was going for was mega far from where I thought it would be, and it ended up that the stop I thought I was going to use was on the other side of the street, which I found out when I walked far up a hill and saw the stop- I've never seen that stop before. I'm still learning the routes. Anyways, I hope I get to ride with this guy again, it was a real carnival style thrill. Best bus ride so far.

I won't go into the long, complicated history of Muni's 15 bus, mostly because I don't remember…read more But back in the day, there was an easy way to remember which Muni bus lines went through Chinatown: The multiples of 15. So the 15, the 30, and the 45 all went through Chinatown. When the T-Third Street came into existence in 2007, I believe they got rid of the 15--or was it the 10-Townsend?--because it duplicated much of the T-Third's route. But that's not really true, since the T-Third wouldn't extend all the way to Chinatown until January 2023, but there was duplication on 3rd Street. Wait, wait, wait! I said I wouldn't go into that history. The 15-Bayview Hunters Point Express has a long, complicated name, but it serves a very important purpose: namely, efficiently transporting passengers from Bayview to the Financial District, and vice versa. Yes, its service is redundant, as most of its line shares the T's line on 3rd Street, but the T-Third runs at grade, meaning that it has to deal with all the same cross streets and signals as regular cars and buses do, at least along 3rd Street, so the 15 is often faster than the T, at least for short trips on 3rd Street. I often use the 15 and T interchangeably. If I'm on 3rd Street and I need to go north or south, I pull up NextBus and find out which one is coming first. I hop on that one. The 15 is also useful for when they're doing service work on the T or if there's any kind of track issue that backs trains up along the line. The 15's bus stops are generally past the street of its intersections, which is mainly true of the T-Third's stations, so it's easy enough to wait for either train or bus right at the corner. You'll definitely be able to see the train long enough ahead of time to cross the street to the station entrance.

Waymo Depot - Climate control that is accessible to the back seat passengers

I have always been intrigued by the sudden influx of driverless cars and on our recent day trip to…read moreSF, we decided to finally try Waymo out. We had some Waymo credits since it was our very first time using the app, so that was quite nice. The app is pretty picky about pickup and dropoff locations, but overall easy to use. You can adjust the legroom and AC temp/strength too so your comfort level is set before the car arrives. The routes don't always make the best sense, but that's what happens of course when you're trying to rely on AI to choose your route. We took Waymo twice that day, and honestly it was a pretty smooth and comfortable ride. I did not have high expectations, but the car stayed at the posted speed limits and did not glitch out on us (as I'm sure you have seen the videos of various Waymos being weird). It did get pretty close to other cars when braking at stop lights, but overall it made pretty good decisions, and we got to our locations safely. Our first route was from Chinatown to San Tung (iykyk), and our second route was from GGP to Japantown. Thanks to our credits, we didn't end up paying much for our rides, but if we had to pay out of pocket, it would definitely add up. Also, route prices would (obviously) vary depending on location and timing of rides. We mainly did this for the experience and for fun, and since we did not drive to SF that day. However, it does get a little expensive, especially if one were to use it to commute. I'd say to try it at least once if you're interested, but with how many people I saw riding in Waymos, I'd hope to see the cost of rides to go down as the company continues to improve its services. I might try riding again in the future for fun though. It was a cool experience for sure.

Waymo is WAY SLOW and there fore WAY NO!…read more Yeah. I know that in theory WAYMO vehicles are safer...they don't speed or run lights or honk their horns. They also don't foot with traffic very well...and they take really long time to pivot if there is an issue. Vehicle was clean. No risk of a stinky driver. You can control the temperature and supposedly the music - limited to skipping songs on a very MUZAK forward play list. Kind of a plus. Minuses are mostly all tied to the lack of a human driving. Waymo can't make judgement calls or pull up alternate routes from experience. If it ain't part of its programming then it isn't happening. And it was double the cost of UBER. Was fun to have taken one- never again.

Trying to be fair to our local cab businesses, I called to get a pick up from another cab company (Yellow Cab).. 10 minutes pass and there is no cab. Called back and the operator said the dispatcher was still trying to find a cab in my area for the pick up. Another 5 minutes pass and still nothing. Just about to request a car through an app (from one of those easy-peasy car services), I notice a red & white vehicle (a Veteran's cab) flash by and I raise my arm. The taxi driver was pretty sharp and he looped around the block and lickety-split, he's back in front of me and my companion. We have some stuff to move from Point A to Point B so we don't just hop into the vehicle. The taxi driver sees that this is the case and he gets out of the car and helps us load items (including a big box) into the trunk. Off we go. The driver knows these streets and he zips up 9th Street where the lights are timed. Good thinking! Along the way he chats about what events are going on in the City today and the neighborhood which we are passing through (the Tenderloin). He comments about the rise in car break-in crime in the TL; owners of buildings who have to repeatedly paint over the graffiti that cover their neat, uniform exteriors. He says it's so sad that the City has these things happening. Having an easy going nature, the taxi driver follows my directions to navigate to Point B (stay in the right lane, cross this street, make a right on that one, turn left at the next intersection, pull over to the left-hand side). Once we arrive at Point B, the taxi driver gets out of the car, opens my door so I can easily exit and carries the big box we had stowed in the trunk to the front door. Easy dealings to pay him the fare. Mister Taxi Driver of cab# 1512, thanks for a positive experience in your vehicle! So courteous to help with the big box! I want to have faith that there are good, hard-working taxi drivers out there. Now I know there still are! Have a great weekend Mister Taxi Driver and hope you have many more positive experiences in your taxi cab lifetime! And, hope you Yelpers come across this taxi driver yourself. He was a real sweetheart.
