I've never come across this level of hospitality before. Usually you have to contact a gate agent to assist in using the elevator and that is if it's working at that station. They seem to go in and out all the time and at some stations they never seem to be in operation. This is a good station to walk to if you are coming from or going to a Giants game. It's actually a closer walk then if you walk to the Embarcadero station and that is where most guests walk to when going to or coming from a GIants game. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the Montgomery BART station to the Ball park. The BART station's first stop if you are heading from Oracle Park to the Pittsburg BayPoint line is the Montgomery station so when we arrive we were able to get seats. Next we stopped at the Embarcadero Station and it was flooded with people and there were very few seats for them, most people had to stand in our train. The initial wait for the train was 15 minutes from the time we entered the station from the Giants game till we hopped on the train. The Daly City line came several times over while we were waiting. Bathrooms. I can't speak to their bathroom situation as we used them at the Ballpark before we left so we didn't need to use them. BART no longer uses the old school BART tickets, they have revolved into using the Clipper Cards or a Credit Card. I have a plastic clipper card somewhere, but I'm not exactly sure where it is and failed to bring it. The good thing about using a Clipper Card is you aren't holding out your credit card to come and go using BART. I was afraid I would drop it in the crowd. They also have a Clipper App you can use, but I'm not a big fan of paying for things with apps. In the end I took my chances and used my credit card as a key to get in and out of the BART station. I'll probably use my Credit Card next time I use BART too just for the convince. In addition I don't like putting money on cards as I always end up with an odd amount left over that I can never use and it ends up to be lost money.

It's not like BART where you could add money. I took my bike on the train to work for the first time to participate with the annual "Bike To Work Day" presented by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. I think it would help you if you watch YouTube videos at Caltrain website to give you more details of the dos and don'ts. Of course I didn't, so there are rules that I learned during my ride. For example, make sure to get a yellow tag for your bike and mark your destination. For example, "San Mateo to Mountain View." This will help other riders placed their bikes with the same destination next to yours. Also, look for train cars with a bike icon, and know ahead which train # stops at your final destination. Overall, my experience was fantastic. Customer service on the phone and email was also excellent. Cheers!

My mom, sister and I went to the Rotunda for lunch this past week, on a rainy day. We wanted to catch the Muni back to West Portal, and conveniently, this station was in Union Square. The stairs, escalator, station itself, are all beautifully done. It's SO CLEAN!!!!! Spotless...as of 12/27/2023. No smells of piss. No homelessness. White, modern, clean, crisp. Modern art displayed. Lovely light display. I love that we entered at Union Square, and were able to walk underground straight to the Powell Station, staying dry under the wet rain above us. Felt so safe too. Wish there wasn't a Doom Loop going on in downtown SF right now, otherwise I would use this station more often. Lovely - hopefully downtown SF will be revitalized soon.

Look, the point of naming a station is so that it's memorable and different from the name of other transit stops. Being descriptive and more "inclusive" makes it complicated and confusing. Just call it Union Square. Powell Street Station is closer to Market Street than this station, so adding "Market Street" after that incorrectly used slash isn't actually descriptive; it's deceptive. And slashes mean either/or, not both. The entire Central Subway project was a total waste of money. More than $1 billion dollars for a few additional stations. But the new stations, including this one, are done well--with some exceptions. Exception No. 1: Why is the station agent so far from the tunnel that leads to Powell Street Station? Since most people will be coming from Powell (rather than from Union Square itself), the station agent should be closer to Powell so that people with disabilities and others (seniors, children, etc.) who need to use the emergency-exit gates to enter the station can enter more quickly and catch any train that may be coming. This is a pretty glaring mistake, especially since they had so much approach room to work with. Exception No. 2: The walk from Powell Street Station is way too long. Yes, they were highly constrained by the limitations of the existing Muni and BART stations; but because you have to go upstairs from the Muni platform at Powell, walk a long distance through the upstairs station, and then go downstairs again at Union Square/Market Street, you end up spending all this time and effort that really seems wasted. I understand the need physically to connect Powell Street Station to this new station, but it really is far. Exception No. 3: The signs leading here from Powell Street Station are too difficult to find. They could have done (and still can do) a much better job of showing the way. Why is this a three-star review again? The station itself is gorgeous and clean, and the platforms are really nice as well. Not too crowded, but also not scary-big like some other stations. I reserve the right to downgrade once this station gets its first permacoat of San Francisco grime.

This station does not have a ticket station, or bathrooms. There's seating and trash containers. The area is not the cleanest and I have seen homeless individuals near the station. The train I boarded was crowded. Where was everyone going on a late Friday morning. Maybe spring break... The trains are always dirty so I take my Clorox wipes and Lysol to wipe and spray down my seats. There's a handful of seats on bottom train compartment and ample seating upstairs. There's racks for your bike and luggage. Restrooms provided throughout the train as well as, the cafe for snacks. Overall, a pleasant ride despite the loud noise coming from the kids laptop across from me.

It is very true to a certain extent if you say that the 14L Mission Limited is crowded since this route is among one of MUNI's most crowded bus routes. MUNI listened! 28R now stops at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus…read more Today, Friday, September 4, 2026, I noticed something that made me very happy: the 28R now has a stop at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus Street. Every Friday, I go to the YMCA Stonestown at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus Street, but in the past, the 28R did not stop at Eucalyptus. Whenever I took the 28R, I had to get off at 19th Avenue & Winston Drive and walk about 8 minutes to the YMCA. It was inconvenient, especially when I could take the regular 28 and get off directly at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus. I started submitting feedback and complaints to MUNI explaining why I believed the 28R should stop at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus. Nearby destinations include: * M Ocean View Metro -- an important connection to Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery, and Embarcadero stations * 57 Muni bus -- transfer point to Daly City BART * YMCA Stonestown * Lakeside Presbyterian Church * St. Stephen Church * St. Stephen School * Regal Stonestown Galleria * Whole Foods Market * DSW * Stonestown Medical Building * Petco * Restaurants and businesses at Stonestown Galleria * Medical, dental, and specialty care offices * Parkmerced residential community In my MUNI feedback, I explained: When evaluating stop spacing, I encourage SFMTA to consider the experience of riders who rely on public transit daily. What may appear to be a reasonable walking distance on paper can be much more challenging in practice for seniors, students, working commuters, riders carrying groceries, people traveling to medical appointments, parents with children, and individuals with mobility limitations. I also explained that Eucalyptus Street is an important transit connection and community destination, including connections to the M Ocean View Metro and the 57 Muni bus to Daly City BART. Adding a 28R stop at Eucalyptus would make transportation much more convenient and accessible. And today, it happened! The 28R stopped at 19th Avenue & Eucalyptus. After my movie at Regal, I would normally have to walk to 19th Avenue & Winston Drive to catch the 28 or 28R. I absolutely enjoy the peacefulness of MUNI Route 28L 19TH AVENUE LIMITED. This route is not as…read morecrowded as the 28 19TH AVENUE LOCAL. There is no service on the 28L between 9 AM - 2 PM from Monday - Friday! Too bad this route does not have weekend service either! Quick Tip: - Inbound Terminal: Fort Mason - Outbound Terminal: Daly City BART The 28L making fewer stops providing faster service is one of the best routes. Also just for a quick note, I wouldn't recommend using www.nextmuni.com or looking at the screen of the GPS bus tracking system at select bus stops as they aren't always 100% accurate. You're way better off peaking out to see if there is a bus arriving at your stop or not! One of the good things I do like about taking the 28L is that there is a seat when I get on the bus. When there is a 28 coming to my stop and I notice that the 28 is too crowded or I see a 28L right behind, I'll get on the 28L instead!
