The original tile sub repaired the tile grout twice but ended up walking away from the job. At that point and to his credit, our general contractor hired Italian Heritage Tile and Stone to inspect the floor. Sal and Vince quickly determined the floor needed to be replaced; the original installation was defective. Sal estimated they could do the job in two weeks or less. In fact it took less, 9 work days, to remove the old tile and install the new floor. I would describe the process as seamless! The two workers arrived on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and laid a beautiful floor. They went the extra mile to hand sort the tile to mach the vagaries of the tile we selected. In short it was the perfect experience!

The previous painter 15 or so years ago had also done a goofy/lackluster job, which added to the complexities of our current paint project. Steve and Authority Painting were prompt and organized when meeting us for a quote/evaluation, and replying with the itemized estimate. Since materials for every house improvement project are backordered forever, we got on the schedule for a couple months out. Right on time for the estimated time frame to start, they were able to begin this week. Our buildings are a bit difficult as my in-laws, who owned the home prior, built TWO extra garages, so essentially it's like painting a large 2-story house, or more. There is also a ton of detail in the exterior, so this made masking/painting a real pain. Steve's team arrived on time, was courteous, and asked questions when they weren't sure about an aspect of our house. They left each day by cleaning and tidying their work area as well. The work itself was super-duper, and completed within the estimated amount of time. The paint went on very tidy and nicely coated and refreshed our house. It looks very high-quality and like it will last for years and years, which is awesome. Hard to explain unless you see it: the paint "pops" and the lines are very clean! Steve addressed all the concerns I had about the previous shabby state of the house and paint, and my concerns that he would need several coats, etc. His and his team's experience in dealing with a variety of problems proved a real asset, as they could anticipate and prevent problems that would have blindsided me if I chose to DIY (trust me, don't DIY exterior paint, get a professional!).

We also had them repaint our front door. Good communication throughout the whole process, fast responses and everyone on the team was very professional. The price was competitive and very fair. The finished paint job and stucco repair were great. Clean lines and the new paint makes our house look cleaner and modern. Everything was done in just four days between two people. They cleaned everything up nicely too. Would recommend. Edited to add: Since the front door paint was still wet when they left, we didn't catch this during the walk through, but the front door was not able to close properly after the paint job. My husband had to redo some of the weather stripping (?) around the door so it could close. Some of the paint came off when the door was closed, even though it was dry and more than 8 hrs had passed since they left. We will need to apply some touch up paint ourselves, as well as redo one of the gutters. For some reason the front door sticks a lot now when we try to open it. The paint seems to try to stick to the inner edge of the door frame and the paint is already coming off there. Not a huge deal and I'll still keep it at 4 stars bc of the price and overall work. I just wanted to mention it bc not everything was perfect. These were the things we found out after I wrote the initial review.

He came out for our estimate review and provided a written estimate. When we decided to go with Mike, he came back out to discuss the job with my husband and myself. He let us know what type of paint he would use and was great about making some color suggestions and general guidance that made our final choices really easy. We contacted Mike with the colors we selected and then he worked to get ahold of the paint. There is a paint shortage in the Bay Area right now (we found out ourselves by going to Kelly Moore) but Mike called around and was able to secure the paint and colors we needed. He started our job the same week and his crew was finished in about two and a half day. They showed up as promised, and did a great job. I can't believe the difference in our house today. Mike was on site every day to go through the current status and make sure that his crew had what they needed and that we were happy with the progress. I would definitely recommend Mike to other people and I suspect that more houses in our neighborhood will be getting a refresh now that they see ours!
