It's a very nice place, and no, I did not "sample the goods...." A friend of mine who lives in San San Diego, wanted a Mustang ranch T-shirt. Well, it's a registered trademark, so guess where the only place is that you can get one? It has quite a story. The current owner bought the name and several of the buildings from the government, who took over the original Mustang Ranch, which was a few miles to the west. Contrary to popular belief, the government never ran the old ranch, they had a third-party running the ranch the new owner actually had the original buildings flown by helicopter to the new location. The original Ranch buildings are apparently now used for "private events." The current building, which used to be called the "wild horse Ranch", is a very nice building, from what I did see of the inside. The new building is very nice. I met a gentleman on the outside, and I told him that I simply wanted to get a T-shirt. He said no problem at all. We went inside, and I waited in "the parlor", while he went to get the person that runs the gift shop... one of the girls actually stopped by to say "hi, what's your name?" I told her I was just there for the gift shop, and she was like, "OK.". No pressure at all. I *can* say that she was extremely pretty, as were the other ladies who were sitting at the bar talking to people. You can tell that this is a very high class place. I got the T-shirt for my friend. 30 bucks. Not cheap, but it was a good quality T-shirt. While I am not interested. In the main reason for being here, reading the other reviews, I hear that they do tours, and that apparently they also have a very good restaurant. I would come back just to try that. My first visit to the notorious place. A group of us had lunch and then a tour of the brothel which is available with a reservation. They have a full bar and decent menu. It is open 24/7 for obvious reasons. The food and drink is reasonably priced, which was a surprise. The portions were enough for some to take leftovers. Be aware of the places' actual main business. No cameras/phones are allowed to be used inside either establishment. Videos of naked and semi naked women are shown on various screens with mirrors on the walls, makes it nearly impossible to avoid these scenes. There is also often a performer on the pole located on a stage in the dining area. Naturally a number of ladies are situated at the bar and tables. You can't forget where you are. Warning. Hello Everyone I would like to comment about my recent visit to Mustang Ranch and my experience across multiple aspects of the establishment. I've been a visitor for approximately ten years now, and felt management was professional and cared about their visitors, repeat clients and supporters of the house. Some aspects of Mustang Ranch are excellent, while others can't be looked past anymore. 1. The resort itself is very nice (grade A+). The landscape, resort amenities (pools) surrounding mountains and historically significant (old Mustang bar side) is very nice. 2. The ladies (grade A+). The ladies who work at Mustang Ranch are extremely nice, beautiful and kind to visitors. You don't need to visit for a "party" to enjoy a nice conversation, or drink with a lady. Over the years, I've spend a fair amount of time speaking to the ladies in the Wild Horse bar, just having lunch and dinner. It's a cool experience. 3. The negotiation process, credit card and personal details handling (Review grade F). During my summer visits this year (2025), after negotiating a party, the lady requested my license and credit card and left me in the negotiation room. With identity theft at an all time high, and credit card fraud at an all time high, leaving the sight of a customer with personal details is unacceptable. Who knows what's happening with my debit Visa card, PIN number, and license outside of my view. They (Mustang Ranch) has all the details required (credit card number, card validation code on back of Visa card and license details - personal address / etc.) to get access to your bank account!! Contrary to management's comments, this process is NEW. I have visited for many years prior to 2025 and never experienced this complete lack of care for a customers security. This process is confirmation Mustang management doesn't care about your personal security. 4. Security (grade F). As several others have noted elegantly in prior reviews, the security team isn't good at all, and targets guests. This extends to returning guests who are known to management. It's a bit strange to treat returning guests poorly, but management calls it the "Full Mustang Experience". As a recent example (August 12th and 13th 2025), I visited Mustang with a good military friend of mine from New Hampshire who is known to management (for years!!!!). Having arrived in separate cars, I was able to witness my friend being searched at the front door of the Wild Horse bar, gifts (jewelry) brought for his date (Ava) damaged and broken. Gift items were dropped on the ground, and stuffed animal gift pulled apart in front of other guests to make a statement. I would like to clarify, my friend visiting in August is a military officer, and should have been afforded a little respect, especially being known to the house. More specifically, our arrival was confirmed with management, but abuse was clearly on the menu August 12th. Being a repeat visitor (up to August 12th), what I witnessed was extremely surprising and disappointing. The tactics by security are included in the "full mustang experience" package for patrons. 5. The food in the Wild Horse (grade D-). This could have been a higher review, but with security guards delivering menus and meals is off putting. 6. The suites for parties (grade F). The suites are really nice, but are really only for looks. Basically, after spending THOUSANDS on a party, you can't use the beds and sheets (just for looks). Basically they cover the beds with random smaller sheets because after spending thousands, Mustang can't be bothered to change or wash sheets after a party. After spending thousands, one should be able to use the bed!!!! This is again part of the "Full Mustang Experience". In summary. Mustang Ranch has changed drastically over the past five years. They don't care about their patrons experience, personal guest security, privacy and most importantly experience. Without a great experience, why would anyone spend a penny at this establishment?
