It's nice and warm out in the late afternoon, but can get cold and windy once the sun goes down. They have two restaurants and a concession stand for food and drinks. For performance nights they open up a few bars. There are some spectacular views from different part of the property. I love that there are different areas to lounge and enjoy your food and drinks. The service is friendly and informative. If you're there for a performance you should arrive early for the best parking spots. Also be aware there are several steep inclines and declines on the property. If you have any issues with walking it might be a challenge as some areas are uneven. But they do offer golf cart rides to and from the parking lot to the main plaza as well as to the amphitheater. You just need to ask an employee nearby. There are no bad seats in the amphitheater from what I could tell. The sound is amazing, but can get loud for those sensitive to loud music. I would love to go back and see more performances at that venue and maybe try one of their restaurants.

The Great Lawn in front of the main building ie the Montalvo Center allows picnics without reservations - just set up camp under a tree. There's a very well maintained Italian garden right next to the great lawn with varieties of succulents, a pagoda like structure and cedars. Also saw a wedding in progress while we were there and it is such a beautiful location for it! I will definitely visit again to explore the trails. Parking can be a little hard on weekends but you gotta just wait till a spot opens. If the event venue is booked out - that makes parking harder since they reserve a lot for guests. They gave us a list of recommended vendors, answered all of our questions and helped with the planning and logistics, even letting us know things we should ask our vendors that we had not thought of. I really felt like they had our best interests in mind, we never thought they were trying to push us into making any decisions or adding additional services that we didn't want. They were also very honest about hotel recommendations that were a good deal price wise and gave benefits to us as the bride and groom. The venue is so beautiful, there are so many great photo spots all throughout. Our guests were raving about how beautiful and dreamy everything was, we have so many amazing photos taken here. Everyone loved the beer wagon, it was something truly unique that no one had seen at a wedding before. Our day of coordinator, Dayana, was phenomenal! She had the timeline and executed it seamlessly and was on top of everything. The day went so smoothly, everything was perfect and our guests had such a great time! None of our guests had a clue that another wedding was happening at the same time, it felt so intimate and remote. We loved having our wedding here and could not recommend it enough!!

While I've never been much of a fan of this venue in general it was certainly improved when Andrew Kutsenda of Pinup Productions fully took over this place and brought his SJ Skate PA and mixer to give a greater sound experience. The Venue now hosts regular shows of both local and national touring acts to crowds of 50-250 people. The place is small enough that 50-60 people seems like a good turnout, 100 seems strong, 150 seems packed, and over 200 seems downright uncomfortable. They serve pizza, water, and soda, as well as have pool tables to play on for free when you don't feel like watching the music. It is billed as a "place for teens" which certainly comes off as the general vibe with the bright colors, strict no ins and outs policy, and young staff working the concessions. Although I have played at and seen shows at better places than the venue, it definitely deserves a lot of respect for being one of the few places holding it down for all ages shows in the south bay. They used to be very strict about not having blankets on the grass, chairs only, but this past summer a lot of people had blankets and they weren't told to fold them up. While it can get crowded, you're usually able to find a spot in the park to set up camp fairly close to the music starting.
