I've been a member of Los Gatos Toastmasters Club for almost a year now. From Day One, I have…read morefound it to be the most organized and waste-free hour of the week. I always look forward to going and participating as a speaker or a functionary. You can sign up to evaluate speeches, be the toastmaster, check grammar as the grammarian or even count filler words as the "ah" counter. There is always a chance to do some impromptu speaking as well! When I joined, I was teaching English one on one, so I felt I needed to brush up on public speaking skills to possibly start an English learning podcast, but joining TM actually opened new doors to me and now I'm giving English workshops to large groups of people. Thanks LGTM!

I joined the Los Gatos Toastmasters in Feb of 2020, wanting to learn how to overcome fear around public speaking. Today, I not only feel more confident to present and speak in front of a larger audience, I also learnt techniques of holding an audience' attention over a virtual medium. Among other things, there are ample opportunities to learn how to make a concise yet impactful presentation and win over your audience effectively. The members of LGTM are a welcoming group of professionals who support you in your individual Pathways objectives. Our weekly meetups are over virtual platforms as well as in person (keeping social distancing rules in mind). Checked them out for the $35 filipino-texas buffet. It's probably the smallest buffet I've ever…read moreseen, kind of reminds me of a backyard catering event. However, the food was quite tasty! The pork ribs were very well seasoned, the mac and cheese was cheesy and delish, the chicken was great, and the corn bread was phenomenal. The pulled pork was nothing mind blowing. They also had some type of vegan mashed potato looking thing that was super good, but the worker didn't know what it was called. On the side, we ordered the dino rib. This was like $39 but it was suchhhh a decadent slab of mean. So juicy and tender, and with their housemade bbq sauce it was perfection. Also, the mango habanero sauce is really good here! We tried a couple of drinks here, but they weren't great. Very strong though! I liked the mango tango frozen drink the most. We came on a Friday night and there was band playing live rock music. It wasn't over bearingly loud and overly a really fun time. Lots of creepy men so be careful of that if you're a young girl. Overall: 3.9/5

The location is pretty unique, right off CA-17/Santa Cruz Highway, so definitely pay attention to your GPS and make sure you take the right exit! They're only open Friday-Sunday, so plan ahead. We came right at opening time and there were already customers there while the staff was still setting up, so I guess this is definitely a local favorite. Their AYCE BBQ is $35/person, with around 4-5 protein options like chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and ribs, plus sides like rice, pancit, mashed potatoes, etc. Everything was decent but didn't really wow me. I'm usually all about the ribs, but surprisingly the chicken and brisket sisig ended up being my favorites. Both of us went for about 3 small rounds before we completely tapped out lol. The drinks were actually a highlight! The Calamansi Spritz had me hooked from the first sip and I definitely recommend it. Our bartender was also super sweet and checked on us throughout the meal. My bestie's margarita ended up being too spicy for her, and she was happy to remake it for her. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm glad we made the trip to check out The Cats.
