My wife and I hired Musical String Hearts for a two hour performance, it was the best decision we made. We chose Musical String Hearts because they offered the largest repertoire, supplied their own amp, and had very competitive pricing for a PROFESSIONAL group. All other groups I spoke with had an extra charge for the amp. We selected music, both modem (Game of Thrones) and classical, for the pre-procession, procession, and cocktail hour. Kerry and Gretchen did not have One Call Away in their repertoire. However at my request they learned the song, recorded it, and sent it to me to listen. I felt that the song was too fast for my procession entrance, which was CORRECTLY played, so I requested them to play it slower. They happily obliged but told me that they wasn't enough time to record it since my wedding was the next day. I took their word and on my ceremony entrance they played the modified version PERFECTLY!! I could not ask for a better version than the one they played, this really elevated the ceremony. Kerry and Gretchen were VERY accommodating and was right on que for when they were supposed to play musical during the procession. They arrived with a very happy and upbeat attitude. Along with their beautiful music, their attitude and demeanor kept our guest calmed and entertained. It has been more than a week since our wedding and we're still hearing from our guests how great Kerry and Gretchen were. Do yourself a favor and hire Musical String Hearts, you'll get more than what you pay for. read more

Couldn't have asked for more beautiful music or friendly musicians! At most weddings, no one remembers the music. However, my wife and I have heard from many of our guests with regards to how much they loved the music! A big thank you to the Heart Strings for everything! read more

Musical Heart Strings was awesome. They were professional, prompt and detailed in their responses and easy to work with. The music was beautiful and made the big day even more magical. I would recommend Musical Heart Strings to anyone! read more

We hired Musical Heart Strings to play during our ceremony and cocktail hour during our wedding in Sonoma earlier this month, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Gretchen and Kerry were wonderful to work with. They were very prompt when responding to emails and were helpful whenever I had any questions about song selections. Unfortunately, my husband and I only got to hear them during the ceremony, but a lot of our guests at the wedding had nothing but good things to say about them during the cocktail hour. We would recommend hiring them! read more

We booked Musical Heart Strings for our wedding 4/24/2016. We'd heard Gretchen and Kerry play several times before and they are terrific so it was no question for us when choosing our ceremony musicians. We chose the piano trio and they played pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour. They are so unique and I love that we had some original classical music along with some Journey! They truly do play it all. When I walked out and heard A Thousand Years being played I was brought to tears. I cannot stress enough how magical live musicians make a wedding and I am so glad we found Musical Heart Strings. Thank you all so much! read more

Gretchen, Kerry and Eryn were playing at our wedding reception and cocktail our at Elliston Vineyard (Sunol, CA) on Sep 7th, 2017 (2 strings and 1 piano). I could not have asked for a better vendor. They were phenomenal! They were one of the most communicative vendors we hired and very, very easy to work with. I always had the feeling that they honestly cared about us. In addition to their already awesome repertoire, they learned a song just for us because I really wanted to walk down the aisle to a specific song. And they went out of their way to accommodate me. I also loved that they offered a lot of modern songs and music from movies (oh Disney!). They truly helped us making our wedding they perfect and ensured a smooth planning process for me! I can definitely recommend them! In fact, my husband and I will go to one of their gigs in Danville or Martinez soon just to hear them play again. read more

We hired Musical Heart Strings for our wedding on September 5th in Napa. From my initial communication with Gretchen and Kerry to the wedding, it was absolutely seamless. The trio (Gretchen, Kerry, and Megan) was extremely professional and played exquisitely at our wedding. They played for our ceremony, cocktail hour and part of our reception. We had an unusual request with our DJ playing Cold Play's Viva La Vida as we enter, then fade music to allow for Musical Heart Strings to start dinner service with their rendition of Viva La Vida. MHS did this so seamless that none of the guests realize the transition! Our guests were so impressed with their modern rendition of classical pieces during cocktail hour that they asked us for MHS information so that they may hire them. They have a huge repertoire of music to choose from that it made choosing musical pieces easy. MHS made our wedding elegant and beautiful. If you are looking for a string trio for your wedding day then you must hire Musical Heart Strings. They are fun, lively, lovely and very professional. Thank you Musical Heart Strings for making our wedding day awesome and special! read more

They performed at our wedding and were absolutely amazing! From booking, to assisting us with musical selection, to accommodating my eclectic musical requests they were fantastic. Every single person that mentioned the music was gushing with how awesome they are. I can't say enough good things about them - would love to work with them again. read more

We were so beyond pleased with Musical Heartstrings performance. We had so many people come up and compliment the music at our event. The variety of your music was amazing. Simply fantastic from planning through the day of the event. I had to make changes to the time as well as the song list and Musical Heart Strings were super flexible. Came early and swooned everyone with their music and personal charm. You can't go wrong with them! read more

Kerry, Gretchen, and Megan of Musical Heart Strings are a delight to work with. We hired the trio to play at our wedding and everyone loved them. We did our wedding differently than most. We had them play the processional and recessional songs during the ceremony and the rest of the time they played during the reception. They played beautifully and looked lovely, too! They were very friendly and accommodating with our requests: having them accompany a vocalist during the processional, learning Dolly Parton (my husband's a big fan!), and playing our choice of songs from The Lord of the Rings to Let It Go, from Guns N Roses to Edelweiss. The price was very reasonable, too. We give them two thumbs way up. If you're looking to hire strings to play at your wedding, we highly, highly recommend Musical Hearts Strings! read more

We hired Musical Heart Strings for our recent wedding at San Francisco City Hall, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about them! They were so communicative throughout the booking process and very easy to work with, and their rates were on par with what we expected to pay. I loved that they offer audio snippets on their site - it made it easier for my husband to choose his music for his portion of the ceremony. On the day of the event, everything went very smoothly - they were there early, set up quickly, and did a beautiful job - our guests loved them! Thank you so much for helping to make our day so special! read more

Oh wow, as good as it gets for sure. I found these ladies on another site for wedding reviews. It was the demo they had on YouTube that sold me. They played beautifully for the ceremony and cocktail hour, were dressed appropriately, and responded to emails quickly and thoroughly. They gave me tips on song choices, which were awesome. Although as the bride, I only really got to hear the song I walked down to, I know they came through. They popped into the photo booth and placed the photo in an album and signed it for me. Just a really great, positive experience with them. Thanks so much ladies! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Musical Heart Strings. My husband and I were married at Saint Francis Solano Church in Sonoma with our reception at The Lodge at Sonoma, and MHS played our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. The backdrop of their music was just perfect and we received so many compliments about them throughout the day. We chose the quartet (with keyboard), and Kerry, Gretchen, Matt and Megan did an incredible job. Since it was a full catholic mass, we had specific musical requirements and even a couple songs that they gladly learned for our service. They also worked with a cantor at the church for the hymns and took time out of their schedules to rehearse before the ceremony. It was above and beyond! Their selection at our cocktail hour and dinner was perfect (there was even a sing-a-long to Bohemian Rhapsody). You can't beat Musical Heart Strings!! read more

From the moment I started listening to their music on their website, I could envision our entire ceremony. I loved that I could hear snippets of their songs, that they had songs categorized by parts of the ceremony to make it easier to narrow down the options, and that when I asked for a song that they didn't have they offered to include it (for a small fee). Gretchen wanted to ensure that the music was exactly what I wanted and even called to confirm I was happy with our selections when some of our other vendors asked us to consider changing our approach. Their music is lovely and you won't be disappointed! Our Guests felt the same! read more

We hired MHS to perform during our Sonoma vineyard wedding ceremony this past April. We went with them based on reviews and boy are we ever glad we did! They were not only so easy to deal with leading up to the wedding but enhanced the ceremony and cocktail hour so much! Their exceptional talents gained us many compliments from our guests! If you're looking for any reason or excuse to enhance your occasion, don't hesitate to hire this group! They are worth so much more than what they charge. read more

My brother recently got married for the first time at age 62. I was his wedding planner/event coordinator, in charge of everything, including musicians for the wedding. As soon as I spoke to Kerry on the phone, I knew she and Gretchen were perfect for our occasion and venue. She was very warm, accommodating and knowledgeable. My brother lives in Chicago, so all of the communications with him and his bride were done over the phone or by e-mail. Kerry sent them a wonderful list to choose their songs from and made sure they had everything requested. They arrived on time, with beautiful smiles and proceeded to play their lovely music before, during and after the ceremony and through dinner. Many of our guest stopped to talk to them, compliment their music and express how they added so much to the ambience of the evening. I highly recommend Musical Heart Strings to anyone who is looking for event musicians who are responsible, reasonable, great to work with and extremely talented at their craft. I would hire them again in a minute. read more

I booked Musical Heart Strings for a marriage proposal for one of my clients. So you can imagine that it was an important event that needed to be handled by quality professionals. I booked Musical Heart Strings through GIgmasters and they were wonderful to work with. I worked with Gretchen and she was very accommodating. The proposal went great and their performance really made the proposal more special for my client. Will definitely use them again! read more

Kerry and her crew played at our wedding, and they could not have been better. They put together a number of customer arrangements for songs that we requested, played extremely well, and they bring amplification (and only use if necessary), which is not common for stringed quartets in the area. I particularly like how they are able to quickly relocate around the venue to move where the crowd is. Additionally, their price is extremely competitive with other ensembles. Highly recommend this group. read more

I had Musical Heart Strings play quartet instrumental for my wedding and they were fabulous and easy to work with! The music was phenomenal and added a nice touch that all of my wedding guests appreciated and complimented on. The whole team at Musical Heart Strings was friendly and responsive and so lovely to work with and I would hire them again in a heartbeat for any future event. Musical Heart Strings played for our Son's wedding and they were wonderful! They were extremely easy to work with, they set up early and then wowed our family and friends with beautiful music! In addition to playing for the wedding we also hired them to play throughout the Cocktail Reception and they didn't hesitate to come to me and ask if we wanted them to play longer when the Cocktail Reception went on 15 minutes longer than we'd planned. They are professional, talented and extremely easy and enjoyable to work with! I can't recommend them highly enough!! read more

We hired the Musical Heartstrings to play for the ceremony and cocktail reception at our wedding and had a very positive experience. We chose to have the duo play, but you can choose to work with more musicians. Their web page made it easy for us to select the music, and they were very easy to work with and responsive in the booking and planning process. On the day of our wedding, we insisted on getting married outdoors, despite a growing rainstorm. Our ceremony turned out to take place during a downpour, and the musicians had to play under a small pop up tent. They were extremely flexible and professional, even under those hard conditions. I met them briefly on the day of, and they were very warm, and I had several guests comment on how nice they were. Our only regret is that we were so busy during the cocktail reception with family photos that we never got to hear them play the fun reception songs. My wife and I would highly recommend them. read more

Musical Heart Strings is fantastic! I hired them to do ceremony and cocktail music for a wedding in Napa recently. From the very first correspondence, Kerry and Gretchen were both very attentive and professional. Throughout the booking an planning process, they were responsive, positive and accommodating! They walked us through the song choice process and handled inevitable changes with grace and ease. Their song list is so diverse, with a mix of classical and contemporary choices and they stay current with popular wedding songs. From my very first interaction with this group until the very end, they were wonderful! Very responsive, easy to communicate with, pleasant, professional, kind... The list could go on and on. I will be finding excuses to hire them again in the future. Truly a priceless addition. read more

Musical Heart Strings has certainly gained itself two lifetime fans. What first drew our attention to MHS was their incredible repertoire--they have everything from classicals and broadway to billboard hits and tv show themes! We were blown away! My husband will be forever grateful that he was able to walk down to "In Dreams" from the Lord of the Rings (his favorite movie series). I was serenaded down the aisle to an absolutely beautiful arrangement of "Moon River" that had me tearing up the first time I heard the sample from their website! MHS was professional, responsive, and made every part of our ceremony and cocktail reception that much more memorable. They even brought their own amplifier, which was VERY helpful for our outdoor ceremony. They are so talented and made such an impression, that I already have friends asking about them for their own upcoming weddings. My husband and I are so thankful they were a part of our special day. We highly recommend MHS! read more

Jane C. Musical Heart Strings trio ( cellist, violinist, viola) played for my daughter's SF wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Working with them was easy and wonderful. Their music was beautiful, and they played through our eclectic set of selections with grace and style. I was searching for live musicians for our wedding in August and found these lovely ladies on yelp. When I went to their website and heard the song samples in their repertoire, I just knew we had to have them play at our wedding. When we found out they were not available on our date, we moved our wedding a week out, just so they could be there. And boy are we glad we decided to do that. There are no words to truly express what a beautiful job they did. Our ceremony would not have been complete without their music. Gretchen and Kerry are so talented and truly added something magical to our special day. They are both extremely kind and it was such a pleasure to work with them. I walked down the aisle to their rendition of Elvis' Can't Help Falling In Love, and it was so perfect. I loved the way they played it so much that I asked them (at the last minute) to play the song again live for our first dance. They were so flexible and happy to do that for us. During and after the wedding, I received so many wonderful compliments on the music. Everyone told me how much they enjoyed hearing them play. I will never forget the special something they brought to our day. A few extra details, they are available as a Quartet, Trio or Duo. Samples of their music are on their website, they play everything from Classical music, The Beatles, Lynard Skynard, to Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga! And did I mention, they are extremely reasonable in their pricing which was an added bonus. Musical Heart Strings is the best! We worked with Kerry and Gretchen on our wedding and they were a huge hit. They were very professional and personable at the same time. At no point did we feel like simply a client. We had an outdoor wedding that was set up in the round, and they were flexible and accommodating when trying to figure out what would work best for them and our guests. They played for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Their music was perfect for our day. We wanted upbeat and light hearted. They came prepared with a wonderful mix of old, new, fun, and classical pieces. When we asked them if they could prepare a new song that was recently released, they sent us an arrangement they had prepared within one week. Musical Heart Strings helped make our wedding everything we wanted it to be. It meant a lot to us to have (3) Beatles songs played during our ceremony, but, more importantly, by a string trio to make it more interesting and special. During our cocktail hour, Musical Heart Strings wowed our guests with traditional music played on strings (check out their playlist). They also went above and beyond and learned two of my favorite songs at a nominal cost -- Carolina on My Mind (James Taylor) and the Out of Africa Score (my favorite movie). I cannot recommend them highly enough. If are are reading this review, time to stop looking! You will be thrilled. read more
