In-Home consultation: I spoke with one of their Educational Consultants to go over my current situation and my expectations from the tutoring sessions. She was understanding, patient and matched me with tutors who are not only academically capable, but also fun and interesting to deal with. I love all my tutors! Calculus 2 tutoring: It's the most advanced math courses that I have ever taken in my life. However, I had the best experience in this class. The tutor, Daniel, was smart, organized and made things much, much easier than they appear. We always started our session with very simple problems, and he added more complicated problems one at a time. From my experience with this tutor, I learned that math can be easy if you understand the problems from the foundation. I received A+ in this class. Thank you! Statistics: Stephen was a funny guy; he created lots of activities for me during our sessions. We used coins, dices and cards for probabilities calculation. I learned a lot faster with these activities, and believe it or not, after taking this course with the tutor, I feel more confident going to casinos in Vegas. Lol... I received A in this class. Thank you! World History: English is my second language, so I had a hard time reading through the textbook, not to mention I have to retain all the information for the sake of HW and exams. Ashley always came with a summary sheet which included all the bullet points that we were going to go over in the session. She eliminated all the unnecessary information from text book and simplified them in just a few sentences for me. After I understood the main "stories", that's when she dug into more details with me, such as vocabularies that might appear on the exam that I would need to understand. My English improved tremendously after taking this course. I received B+ in this class, and I am super, super happy about it. Thank you! It was great working with all these awesome tutors and I would recommend Club Z to anyone I know!

I had been thinking about putting my kid there for a while. then a sudden passing of my autistic…read morechild's father suddenly, made me postpone our first session until recently. Guess what, the Director of Lanies Learning and the school associated didn't really care about my kid learning Math. Even though it was a bit sketchy how they charged me more because I won a district settlement and charged me the "district rate" vs. the cheaper family rate, although both come with the same work involved. I questioned that at our final meeting. So here I come on the first day all the way from Piedmont to Concord, and I barely get a "hello" and no official introduction to anyone or condolences. I had to ask for a little sit down before my kid went the tutor. Then when I picked him up, I peaked at where she was having the tutoring of multi-sensory tutoring, and he was on the floor w/ many desks all around him, squished. When I brought this up to the Director in an email. She was so offended, she tore up my check she said and would give me that lesson for free. She apparently didn't like me questioning what I saw or what I expected from a "round up" after a first session. I was so excited too, but it seemed it was about conforming and not asking too many questions, than really helping my child. We since got a very amazing tutor who is amazing and trained in the exactly what he needed. I was saddened that the Director of this center and the Core Academy that it is associated with would treat a widow this way. So disappointed that they acted in such a way, after they accepted my kid, then said "he wasn't a good fit," after I had a few questions about the first session. Then to make matters worse, they let him go and tore up my check as they let me know in an email. How cruel. I really hope they don't respond, but it did happen and nothing they say, will make it ok. accept an apology.

We raised our SAT score by 120 points!!!…read more We recently worked with the East Bay Prep team to help our son boost his SAT score. When we signed up with them they modestly informed us that in the short 3 week timeframe we will likely improve our score by 40 points. But after 3 private 90 minute sessions my son's score went up 120 points! The team is very pleasant to work with; friendly, punctual, responsive, and professional. They came to our house which was convenient and billed us after the training was complete (as opposed to charging us upfront). We are more than pleased with East Bay Prep and would highly recommend their SAT tutoring to anyone looking for test preparation for the SAT or ACT and/or looking to boost your score.

My parents took me here after second grade when I still could not read and I went from a kindergarten reading level to a sixth grade reading level after a few weeks over summer. I came back to school with a better understanding of how to read, spelling, vocabulary and English in general then the kids that used to make fun of me. They gave me confidence, a sense of accomplishment, and my school took me out of the remedial reading program and put me in the gifted and talented one in third grade. They were able to help me when my school had basically given up. Many of the information still sticks with me today. After lindamood-bell I became an avid reader and now read a few books a week, my favorite hobby. The staff of that time was great and I even remember the receptionist taking me to a store nearby for some quick new clothes when I spilled chocolate milk all over myself during lunch break. After I "graduated" one of the owners gave me "the trumpeter of the swan" with a nice note to me inside. They told me that they recommend 5 days a week session, 4 hours long each day. I cant imagine putting my kid in 4 hours of tutoring AFTER a full day of school. He's only 7. So I talked to them about how they would help him. They told me about the test for 300.00 that's normally 695.00. Ok, a few dollars, but doable. Then they told me that there rate 109/hr. Wait... 109/hr X 20 hrs = 2000 PER Week. Are you Kidding me. Ok, I will sell my house, car, all my possessions so you can help my kid. At this point it didn't matter.
