In the past, LICC renovated our kitchen and built us a deck so when we bought our new house, there was no question what company we were going to use. This was a major project. They gutted the house, built an extension and remodeled both the downstairs and upstairs of our home. They installed a new hvac system, all new floors, light fixtures, windows and cabinets, They took down walls, built a new banister for the staircase, refaced my fireplace and built a new front door.. John helped us design the home of our dreams. He is the most amazing contractor. He handled everything. He dealt with the town for our permits, took care of electric, plumbing, hvac, installation etc. John doesn't cut corners. He was hands on from the beginning until our house was complete. He showed up and made sure everything was completed in the time frame he said it would be completed. We trust him completely. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was on point. John's crew was respectful, skilled and attentive. They answered any questions as they came up.. His office staff helped me pick out fixtures and colors and were always available to discuss my ideas for decorating my house. We are beyond happy in our home. LICC did an amazing job. Throughout, John was communicative and transparent, and his contractors were of the highest quality. And importantly for us, John understood our open concept vision from day one -- it was like he could read our minds. Among other things: * John helped us discover what was possible to do with the house. After tearing down the walls, he worked with an architect to figure out whether it was possible to vault the ceilings and how. * John pushed back on our ideas when they would have been too expensive for our budget, or overall not worth the money. He worked with us to find different, but equally gorgeous, ways to solve the same problem. * John ran a tight ship, and made clear when we had to pick out doors, materials, etc. This helped the project run on schedule (though of course there were inevitable delays with supplies due to Covid). * When some items were damaged in transit, John worked with suppliers to get replacements ASAP. * When we needed additional work done (e.g. to plan the backyard), John recommended other contractors, all of which have been professional and of high quality. * There was never any doubt how much anything would cost or when we'd be charged. When unexpected issues came up, John was clear and transparent about what our options were and worked with us to decide how to proceed. After the initial renovation, we continued to work with John to renovate our back yard and pool, and have recommended him to multiple friends who are doing similar projects.

This was a a very involved project which included a new kitchen, an extension encompassing a new family room downstairs with a master bed/bath above it. We also did the roof, the siding and all windows. Needless to say we were very stressed out and ,after saving for almost 10 years, were not about to hand this to anyone. We interviewed several different companies, from close and far, and couldn't commit. After our first meeting with Gary and Sean we knew we were on to something good. They were personable, flexible and actually listened to what we had to say. Their documentation was complete and made us feel confident we were making the right choice. Was everything perfect, no. The renovation had it's high and lows. Considering how old the house is, we had only a few bad surprises but always felt that they were there for us. We lost power during storm Sandy (before all the walls were in!) and were not thrilled with some of the sub-contractors they hired, which actually brought me to write this review today. One of the few things we weren't completely happy with was the master bathroom tiled floor. Somehow the installation was not up to par with the rest of the work. Gary and his crew never stopped trying to fix it, even after we were set, paid and done. The kicker came a month ago (almost 3 years after the renovation) when my wife noticed that the floor tiles were not sitting properly. We called GB for advice, without any expectations. They called us back right away, as usual, and sent Sean over. What happens next left us absolutely stunned. GB Construction scheduled a day to come and fix the floor for good. They ordered tiles for the entire bathroom, brought in a different crew and redid the floor. Entirely. Left the bathroom cleaner than it was before, and no bill. So here we are, saying thanks and showing our support to a great family-owned business, with good values and the right attitude. Highly recommended!

I used the electrician he recommended, his friend, and the company he recommended to purchase material. He has dragged me along with excuses and finally on 3/10 told me that he just needed to finish up jobs he already started. Today he started a new job and told me it'll be awhile before he gets to me. I'm left with holes in my wall with insulation popping out during peak season so it's next to impossible to find any contractor willing to tackle a small project now.
