In all reality my favorite Columbia restaurant!! Love the atmosphere and the food is just darn good. Never had a bad meal there. You can go sandwich or filet and everything in between. My favorite things on menu are the grilled pork tenderloin sandwich, fried eggplant appetizer, hamburger, and tuna pesto feta sandwich. Don't overlook the specials though as they are almost always delicious. The servers are the best. I eat there on average of 3 times per month and I had poor service once. We shared our unhappiness with manager, and I don't think I ever saw her working again. The music is a nice added bonus! read more

Food, locale and ambience were great. However this was by far the worst customer service I have experienced in years. When 3 tables that were seated after you have finished their food and yours has not even arrived (1 hour ++), and it takes 5 reminders to your server to get your drink (just a soda btw, no fancy cocktail), something is very wrong. Got up to leave and the server shows up with the entree looking rather bothered just stating.. Guys food takes time to make. Told the ladies at the front desk and they said it depends on the server. Had I even gotten an unenthusiastic apology, I would not have thought anything of it. Just took our food to go and left. Guess the manager was out that night. read more

If you're looking for a place that has good atmosphere and a little bit more than casual but not suit and tie, Murrys is the place. Great Italian food. Only thing I didn't care for was the seat in the very back corner, just seemed like kind of a small and tight area. But other than that everything was great. read more

This place is cool good live music I should say the powdered sugar covered fried peppers are awesome, the fried frog legs are good, the fried egg plants which looks like french fries are delicious and the service is great. I felt like the place was a little loud, yes I understand that the music was live but that made it a little difficult to hear what we were saying to one another. That's my only complaint. Have lived in the area for 16 years and feel bad that I just found out about Murry's. The food was excellent and I loved the ala carte style menu. The jazz trio was very good and were obviously enjoying themselves, making the evening that much more fun. I will be making this a regular stop. read more

I always have to wait to get a table here, but I don't care. Great beers, nice prices (even if the glasses are small). The food is great American upscale bar food; always well seasoned. Everyone raves about Murry's, but the tables are so crammed together you have absolutely no privacy. When I went, a particularly large middle age man was directly behind me taking up all the space and I was scrunched right into the table. We couldn't move the table the other way, because there was yet another table right up against ours. I went here on a date and the atmosphere was not great for conversation or having fun. The food was mediocre as well. Apparently they really love to put cheese on everything. read more

The food was amazing, but even more so, the wait staff was top notch. Absolute best wait staff I've encountered in all of Columbia. We had the pepper rings and onion rings as apps, and for dinner I had the French dip. We got coffee ice cream for dessert and it was as great as all the rest of it. Food was mediocre, server was terrible. He forgot our lemons for our water, assumed we wanted our solid cheese sslad... ugh with our lunch, delivered a bowl to split food with my daughter that had dried, crusty food on it, broke a glass on our table, and never came back to our table once our entrees came! The salads were not good, iceberg lettuce loaded with provolone cheese , the blue chip bread was cold and doughy. The shrimp and clam linguine was swimming in oil, and flavorless! We also had to ask the busboy to find our waiter to pay our tab! This place is filthy as you can see dust and dirt, water stains on the ceiling snd vents! The carpets also looked dirty and I would probably never go back if they turned on the lights! Been going here for years, but service and quality of the food have obviously diminished! Over-rated and service leaves much to be desired. The poor attitude of the waiter could have been overlooked until he said "here's your damn straw." The on duty manager didn't seem to condone this poor behavior and made no attempt to rectify the situation. That speaks volumes. Will not return when there are better local options like D. anytime we are near Columbia, Murrys is TOP of the list. I can't pick one favorite menu item because they are all fabulous - from appetizers through dessert. The staff is as good as the food - always attentive, friendly, and full of suggestions. There is often a long wait and most of us know it is worth standing around letting our appetite explode. Most times, we try to get there early or wait until later to enjoy great jazz along with the great food. Just cannot understand why this place is popular. The food is average at best. The service was terrible. As it was our first time, we had questions on the menu, however, it was too much of a bother for the waitress. She disappeared for long periods of time. The menu could use some descriptions on the items- as it is, it just says Mahi or salmon for example. The poblano chicken was ok, and as for the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, it was the worst one I've ever had. Will not be back. This place is very over rated. read more

Murry's is a local favorite in Columbia! They have an amazing signature margarita that is a must and some serious EATS, not to mention the live Jazz music! I usually opt for shared plates at Murry's, this way I get to enjoy lots of their amazing menu items. Some of my favorites are Garlic Cheese Bread, Calamari, Brock's Green Pepper Rings (I'll come back to this one), Italian and Greek Salads, French Dip and Philly Cheesesteak sammies, Gooey Butter cake, and Death by Chocolate, just to name a few ;) Now, back to the Brock's Green Pepper Rings. These things are crazy weird but so crazy delicious. They are sliced green pepper rings (similar to onion rings), deep fried, and then doused in powdered sugar! Legend has it, they were an "oops" in the kitchen and made it onto the menu somehow. Either way, the "oops" is awesome, give it a try! Murray's has LIVE music Monday - Saturday and it totally creates a unique, comfortable, social inducing atmosphere. If you already love Murrays, or you haven't tried it, head on over and grab a table, enjoy the drinks, food, and music. You will thank me later!! read more

I know that most locals love Murry's. If I had to guess it would be because of the atmosphere and would not be for the food or the service. We just had dinner there tonight (10-11-18) and it was terrible. We ordered the fried green pepper rings and there was barely any batter on them and they were soggy. I ordered the cheese burger and ordered it well done. What I got was a burger that wasn't done in the middle and red juice on my plate when I cut it in half. I sent it back and what I got in return was the same burger charred to a crisp. To me this is unacceptable. Also FYI, Everything on the menu is a la carte. Imagine having to pay $24 for a steak and then another $4-$6 per side. Not my kind of place. They are trying to be fancier than they actually are. Our waitress, Katie (I think), was rude and terrible. She was a complete smart ass and had no customer service skills. I wasn't completely fond of this place before and tonight has made my mind up that I will never be back. Save your time and money and pick a different place. There are so many great places in Columbia, MO but this is not one of them. read more

Everything is always great although I'm not as enamored with Murry's as a lot of other people are. I think it's because everything is a la carte although it's served in enormous portions. For some reason, this never ceases to irritate me. I might want some mashed potatoes with my salmon, but I don't want a bucket of mashed potatoes.
