The teachers, like Ms. Doona and Ms. Lauren, are beyond wonderful - they're patient and caring. The place is a kid's dream school. Not only do they have four playgrounds that keep things exciting, but the kids also get to ride ponies, brush goats, and pet piglets! They also have some sandpits. You might find your child's clothes a bit messy at pickup, but the joy and laughter on their faces are so worth it! What's really cool is the monthly photo thing they do. I was told that by the time your kiddo graduates, you get this adorable album of all their preschool memories. My kid loves this place. Sometimes she even wants to stay longer when I pick her up early.

The teachers and staff truly cared about him and made him feel loved, safe, and comfortable every day. I'm so grateful for the role his teachers played in that. The communication was always great. After a full year, there were so many familiar faces who knew and cared for my child. We'd walk through the hallway and everyone knew him by name. That was a big deal to me! We're so thankful for the memories, the friendships, and all the love he received here. We'll miss everyone (Mrs. Parcity and Mrs. Andrea were so great!) and I would absolutely recommend this preschool to other families!

We enrolled our 17-month-old twins, and from day one, the classroom teachers seemed unhappy, unwelcoming, and uninterested in helping our girls adjust. They made little effort to greet, hold, or comfort them. When our girls cried at drop-off, which is completely normal for toddlers adjusting to daycare, the teachers seemed reluctant to offer any reassurance unless we repeatedly asked. We have three children and have experienced other daycares with teachers who genuinely loved their jobs and were warm, affectionate, and nurturing. Here, our twins seemed like an inconvenience rather than little children needing extra comfort. The environment felt more like a childcare factory than a loving, nurturing space. Ultimately, my mother's intuition told me this wasn't right, and we decided to withdraw them. We enrolled them in a new daycare that our twins absolutely love and are thriving in. Unfortunately, the owner refused to release us from the agreement without requiring another four weeks of payment even though we were only there a week. Our girls were there maybe 5-6 days but we ultimately paid for 5-6 weeks. I understand daycare is a business, but childcare should be about more than collecting tuition. There should be compassion and flexibility when parents are uncomfortable with the care their toddlers are receiving, especially so early on. Honestly, my son's public school teachers have been far more nurturing, compassionate, and welcoming than the teachers at this expensive private daycare. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone, especially for young toddlers who need patience, affection, and reassurance. Children deserve to feel loved, safe, and welcomed--not like they're an inconvenience.

One thing I appreciate most is how welcoming and friendly the staff is overall. I've had a lot of interaction with Miss Michelle, the director, and she's always warm and present. She greets families in the morning, says goodbye at the end of the day, and genuinely interacts with the children. The kids love her, especially when she brings out fun little toys or prizes at pickup time. It creates such a positive environment. Miss R is also incredibly kind and bubbly. She's one of the first people you see in the morning and one of the last people you speak to before leaving, and it's always nice having someone so pleasant to chat with. I don't get a ton of face-to-face time with my children's teachers during drop-off & pick up because they're usually already inside the classrooms, but my kids absolutely adore them. They constantly come home talking about their teachers in such a positive way. I'll hear things like, "Miss Sandra helped me with this," or "Miss Sandra helped me solve a problem today." Hearing those stories makes me feel very comfortable and safe leaving my children there because I know they're being cared for with patience and kindness. I also appreciate how clean the school is. One thing I personally love is that they don't use sand in the play areas. As a parent of young children with textured hair, not having to wash sand out every single day is honestly a huge plus. The school uses a digital app to keep parents updated throughout the day. While I do wish the app was a little more detailed, it still gives me a good idea of my children's daily routine, like meal times, naps, and activities. Another thing I really appreciate is that all of my children's schoolwork comes home weekly. It allows me to actually see their progress; whether it's coloring, writing letters, or other developmental skills and helps me understand where I can continue helping them at home. Each classroom also has a monthly itinerary explaining what the children will be learning and focusing on. Whether it's science, math, or another subject, it's always very clear. I love that because it helps me stay involved and continue reinforcing those lessons at home. I also think it's really sweet how the school celebrates holidays and includes parents in activities. Things like making Mother's Day or Father's Day crafts, writing letters to Santa, or doing art projects together create really special memories for families. Overall, Children's Lighthouse has felt clean, safe, friendly, and structured. Most importantly, my kids are happy there and are genuinely learning, and that gives me a lot of peace as a parent.

Sorry for making you hit your button to simply unlock the door for information. I visited other schools and found some other really nice options what won't harm my child's wellbeing. If your kid is currently enrolled here, get them out before it's too late! The animosity here isn't normal for preschools.

If you're looking for a safe, clean environment, competent administration, structured learning, and…read morestability with trusted adults, then do NOT send your child to Discovery Isle in Murrieta. To be fair, there are some truly exceptional teachers here--Ms. Blake, Ms. Cathy, and Ms. Tina genuinely care about the children and made a positive impact on our family. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the school declined significantly during the 2.5 years my children were enrolled. While there were numerous concerns, the two biggest issues were safety and administration. Safety Concerns * The cameras mounted in each classroom appear operational but are actually nonfunctional. I understood from the beginning they were not intended as a live feed for parents, but I was under the impression that they recorded incidents for later review if concerns arose. I was disappointed to learn that was not the case. * The playground is not privately enclosed, making it visible from the parking lot. Any weirdo or creep on the street can observe the children at play. * Classroom windows have no curtains or coverings, leaving little opportunity to reduce visibility from outside during an emergency. * During a recent (~April 2026) threat that was reportedly made against Discovery Isle locations, administration chose to notify parents by email rather than through an immediate mass text alert. In a situation involving a potential safety threat, I expected a faster and more direct method of communication. Administrative Concerns * School communications--including emails, text messages, and newsletters--frequently contained spelling and grammatical errors. While this may seem minor, it reflected a lack of attention to detail from the leadership team. * If your childcare expenses are supplemented through a third-party program (ours was through the military), carefully review your invoices. On multiple occasions we had to follow up because credits were not applied correctly. This resulted in thousands LOST due to the credits not being applied and too much time lapsed for us to receive those funds. * Communication with administration was consistently frustrating. Phone calls and emails often went unanswered, leaving in-person conversations as the only reliable option. But in person conversations are not a viable option, given that administration will fabricate communications or imply that they never happened. (Pro tip: get EVERYTHING in writing with them. Even the things that don't seem important) * In our experience, administration appeared to form lasting opinions about children based on isolated incidents. Once a child was labeled as having "behavioral issues," it often felt as though every interaction was viewed through that lens. We received frequent calls describing incidents that seemed exaggerated compared to what classroom teachers reported. * When we attempted to discuss concerns directly, we often felt dismissed rather than heard. Conversations felt one-sided, with little willingness to consider parent feedback or collaborate on solutions. Ultimately, these ongoing issues led us to enroll our children elsewhere. The difference has been remarkable. Since changing schools, we've seen significant improvements in our children's happiness, confidence, learning, and overall development. The supposed "behavioral problems" have all ceased to exist, demonstrating the importance of who you entrust your children with. Every family's experience may be different, but based on ours, I cannot recommend Discovery Isle in Murrieta. I encourage parents to thoroughly research their options, ask detailed questions about safety procedures and administrative practices, and trust their instincts when choosing a school for their children.

Our son had a tough time adjusting during his first couple of weeks, and the teachers supported him (and us!) with so much compassion and encouragement. Their genuine care made all the difference. Now, he absolutely loves going to school! He literally claps and smiles when we tell him it's time to go! Seeing how excited and happy he is each morning gives us so much peace of mind. As first time parents, there's nothing more important than knowing our child is safe, loved, and cared for, and that's exactly how we feel every day. We are so grateful to have found a school that treats our most valuable treasure with such kindness and attention. Thank you to the entire team for your ongoing support, positivity, and the love you show our little one every single day. We truly appreciate everything you do!
