Gregg Branham W/JAT of Fort Wayne We had a massive bill from this company for a minor winch out of a snowy ditch. It was a complete scam, and I took it as far as I could with the State of Pennsylvania District Attorney and the Pennsylvania State Police. Unfortunately, there isn't anything illegal about ripping the head off of some unexpecting company in an uncontrollable situation. I even reached out to the Pennsylvania Motor Carrier Association who is working on legislation for Predatory Towing such us what happened to us. We originally received a $20,000 invoice for around 1 hours' worth of work. They had a 4-hour minimum with what appeared to be every piece of equipment in their fleet, as well as charging us a $2,500 call out fee on top of the 4-hour minimum. You can't see it in this picture, but Murray's Towing was called by the State Police, but another company actually pulled us out of the ditch. Boots & Franks was the company seen in this picture. For everyone's viewing pleasure I have attached pictures of the incident along with original invoices. They did eventually deduct a little off the $20,000 invoice but it was still highway robbery. Legal thieves. The general public would be jailed for the predatory practices this company demonstrates. It is a shame that our legal system doesn't protect consumers and businesses against companies like this and they are allowed to continue to be on the state rotation for accidents that are called in by the police. If you see Murray's coming, you might as well just hand them the keys and title because their bill will be more than the value of your truck, trailer, and load combined. Oh, and Murray's sometimes subs out their work, so even if someone else comes, it could still be Murray's pulling the strings. Stay as far away from them as possible. read more

Apparently Murray towing has become a corporation of thieves. They now tow vehicles from the side of the road with NO authorization from law enforcement or the owner (WHICH IS GRAND THEFT AUTO) Then they proceed to charge the owner to get their stolen vehicle back (Stolen by then to begin with) Where as if they had not stolen the vehicle to begin with, they would not be able to charge for its return. I Got hit the front bumper was pushed into the left wheel, the police called them, even tho i had AAA ! cops insisted the car had to leave the side of the road ... i asked them to take it to my home, apparently they couldn't because there were too many accidents they had to attend to (ice storm) so they were taking it to their shop which is less than 10 miles away from the accident ! Mind you im less than 5 miles from my home.... 2 hours later when their office opens up, i called to them to pick the car up these jerks wanted a little over 900 bucks.....for a tow less than 10 miles and a storage for 2 hours they wanted 900 bucks !! Apparently they have a deal with the police department, so if you do get into an accident pleaseee use a different company even if the police officers insist ! read more

One star is too many for these predators. They are stealing cars from a hotel in Stroudsburg that isn't even open. You are forced to pay $250. or $50. for each additional day. After checking with the bank where my son had business, I was assured that their business had no cars towed today. I called the hotel and got the message that they are closed for renovations. I filed a police report to alert them of their greedy illegal activity. read more

Absolutely one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with, and I only hope that you won't have to. Avoid at all costs. After getting into an accident due to loss of traction cause of the weather, I had a towing service called from a cop. These guys came in a timely manner. However the service that came after that was atrocious. My car was flipped on it's side on the side of the road and needed to be pulled back down which they did very aggressively as well as pulling it back onto the road. Luckily after both my accident and their rough winching my car was still driveable. So in total, they spent about 5 minutes to hook the car up, unflip it and pull it slightly out. Since the car was driveable I did not need it towed. They slapped me in the face with a price of $250. I was outraged considering not even towing service from NY was that expensive. I had barked at them constantly and they lowered the price to $200 but at this point I had no choice. Not only is this bad enough but I had to turn my car around on an active highway all by myself while they stood and watched. So, they inflate the price of their services insanely high, and they don't give 2 craps about your condition after a car accident. If only I knew about these guys before the cop called them or I was even given a choice, well I would not be here today. read more

I recommend this towing place out of every place in the Poconos the owner and his family treated me like I was one of his daughters and helped me out through a tough situation. They have great prices and they have great employees! I will definitely use them whenever I have to. read more

Called my insurance company was told pick up would Be within the hour. Hung up received a text alert, then a phone call they were there within a half hour towed to its destination and I was back home within the hour. Professional, respectful, courteous and pleasant. Thank you!!! Will most certainly do businesses with them if the unfortunate event arises again that I or a family member need a tow. read more

These guys changed my flat tire and in the process stripped the thread on the wheel hub. Wheel hub had to be replaced because they damaged it but they refused to pay for their damage. While their receipt says they are not responsible for damage when they perform service an honest and reputable company would own up to their mistake and pay for it. I used Murray's for a dumpster delivery which they do in addition to towing. My tenants moved out and left an enormous amount of junk behind. It was Sunday and I needed a dumpster dropped off and fast to cleanup the place before showing to prospective tenants. Murray's delivered the dumpster an hour later on a Sunday morning. By 5pm on the same Sunday the dumpster was already full. I needed it picked up from my driveway and fast to free up more parking. I called Murray's and it was gone an hour later. This place was so bad, it's frightening. They were called and they did show up and towed my car home. They dropped the car and hit my home and severely damaged the car. Bumper needs to be replaced. And there's dents in the front where the car hit my garage door. Called and the owner threatened to 'beat up' my son! Certainly not a very reliable and professuional company! read more
