Unfortunately, my basement flooded, and I lost a lot of valuable items, monetarily and sentimental. The field adjuster assigned to my claim, Daniel Silverman, was very communicative immediately. He scheduled a time to come out, and was prompt. He was very knowledgeable about my policy, and reassuring in my home. He was thorough, and did whatever he could to make this whole mess run as smoothly as it could. My claim was paid out in a matter of days, and he had great communication the whole way through. I'm not sure if Erie as a whole company is this easy to deal with, but I'm thankful I at least got Daniel assigned to my claim because he sure was. Everyone needs someone calm, assuring, and hassle-free when going through something like this--and I'm forever grateful. Thank you Erie Insurance Company and Daniel!

Just horrible communication and professionalism out of their account agents. Specifically Shane A Hall and his immediate supervisor, Sandi Corrington. Was in a horrific wreck and had to deal with both of them for a week. They give me a rental car (cheapest money could buy, tiny sedan for 6'7 insuree) for 10 days while we sort out the claim. 3 days in, I'm out on a work trip out of state. They tell me they are prematurely ending the rental lease, and I will be on the hook for both rental and storage at a tow lot they have my totaled car in. They do this via email, not even a phone call. They dodge calls all afternoon. Basically bully me into taking less of a settlement than I was owed. If someone with this insurance hits you, just say your prayers. The excuses are about to fly early and often and the condescending language coming there short after. What a dump of a company.

I contacted my Erie Insurance agent to replace one of the two vehicles on my policy. Prior to…read moreproviding me with my new premium, the agent thanked me for being a loyal customer for the past 20 years. When he provided me with the new premium, it had increased by $2,600. This increase was not due to the type of vehicle added because the new vehicle was comparatively close to the car being replaced. I have a clean driving record and have no accidents. The agent advised that because I was making a change to my policy, they decided to "unlock" the rates that had been applied to my policy for the past two years (a Rate Lock that was placed by my agent that I was unaware of). He said because of the lock, my premiums had not increased much during the past two years. I can appreciate that but I don't believe that any premium would have increased by $2,600. My insurance went from $3,158 to $5,600 per year. In addition to auto, I also have 3 life insurance policies and home insurance with Erie. I called several insurance competitors and not one company quoted me a premium anywhere close to $5,600. Needless to say, the 20 year relationship with my Erie agent has ended. My new premium with same exact coverage is $3,400. SHAME on Erie Insurance
