Unfortunately, my basement flooded, and I lost a lot of valuable items, monetarily and sentimental. The field adjuster assigned to my claim, Daniel Silverman, was very communicative immediately. He scheduled a time to come out, and was prompt. He was very knowledgeable about my policy, and reassuring in my home. He was thorough, and did whatever he could to make this whole mess run as smoothly as it could. My claim was paid out in a matter of days, and he had great communication the whole way through. I'm not sure if Erie as a whole company is this easy to deal with, but I'm thankful I at least got Daniel assigned to my claim because he sure was. Everyone needs someone calm, assuring, and hassle-free when going through something like this--and I'm forever grateful. Thank you Erie Insurance Company and Daniel!

Just horrible communication and professionalism out of their account agents. Specifically Shane A Hall and his immediate supervisor, Sandi Corrington. Was in a horrific wreck and had to deal with both of them for a week. They give me a rental car (cheapest money could buy, tiny sedan for 6'7 insuree) for 10 days while we sort out the claim. 3 days in, I'm out on a work trip out of state. They tell me they are prematurely ending the rental lease, and I will be on the hook for both rental and storage at a tow lot they have my totaled car in. They do this via email, not even a phone call. They dodge calls all afternoon. Basically bully me into taking less of a settlement than I was owed. If someone with this insurance hits you, just say your prayers. The excuses are about to fly early and often and the condescending language coming there short after. What a dump of a company.

I have had several claims over the years, mostly very minor bumper repairs. They handled all the details and claim work flawlessly, and with no hassle. That is what sets companies apart. How do they handle actual claims? I have complete faith in my agents and their team. Over the years I have bought cars, houses and condos, added family members as they began driving. Again, they handle the paperwork flawlessly. I have lived in 5 cities in Pa. They handled not only my auto, but also homeowners in each city. My children went to college in different states, and we still worked with this company. I can call them from most anywhere, and they know me. Which is cool in my opinion. I have grown quite loyal because of the excellent service. Erie is a great and solid company that I have faith in, then have the added security of agents that know me, and recommend services that fit my life. All it requires is a call, and they get me on the right path. No matter who you use for auto or other insurance, I highly recommend you call this company for a quote. Then Remember that there is more than price to insurance. Can you contact your agent in the time of need? Do they actually pay the claim? Will they try to push you into products that fit them, and not you? Would you trust them to handle your spouse or children's needs ( I did). This is an exemplary company, and my agent is stellar.

I contacted my Erie Insurance agent to replace one of the two vehicles on my policy. Prior to…read moreproviding me with my new premium, the agent thanked me for being a loyal customer for the past 20 years. When he provided me with the new premium, it had increased by $2,600. This increase was not due to the type of vehicle added because the new vehicle was comparatively close to the car being replaced. I have a clean driving record and have no accidents. The agent advised that because I was making a change to my policy, they decided to "unlock" the rates that had been applied to my policy for the past two years (a Rate Lock that was placed by my agent that I was unaware of). He said because of the lock, my premiums had not increased much during the past two years. I can appreciate that but I don't believe that any premium would have increased by $2,600. My insurance went from $3,158 to $5,600 per year. In addition to auto, I also have 3 life insurance policies and home insurance with Erie. I called several insurance competitors and not one company quoted me a premium anywhere close to $5,600. Needless to say, the 20 year relationship with my Erie agent has ended. My new premium with same exact coverage is $3,400. SHAME on Erie Insurance

When I pointed at the MSO (same thing) in her hand, she just dismissed me and said that it wasn't good enough. I pointed at the original receipt and stated the PA regulation about "Boats with a retail value of less than $2,000 being registered" with just an original receipt. She yell at me that was untrue. Then told us to leave and go somewhere else. We left with my wife in tears at the treatment. We wondered why she was so instantly furious just by looking at us from across the room. Was she was mad I look too Jewish, or that I had a rainbow "Safe with me" pin on my hat? Whatever was it was clear she had an issue. We did indeed go elsewhere. We will never go to AAA in Erie again, and we're considering dropping membership after 25+ years as a customer.
