Terrible customer service. The drivers are polite. The issue I had was with the lady that answers the phone. My car had to be towed today, I had 5 of my children with me and was waiting for my grandparents to come pick us up, they got lost. I was told I had a 10 minute window by the driver. The lady called me and was so rude, told me I was wasting their time and they were busy and I would have to call back and most likely have it towed tomorrow. There was no compassion. It was like I was bothering her for calling. The driver was nice enough to tell me I could call back master; leave my keys in the tank and have it picked up once my ride got there. After my ride came, I called back and requested a tow. She acted like it was an issue. We had issues with my card and she told me they would impound my car if I didn't get it fixed in about five minutes. They got paid, $300 later the car was towed. Mind you this price was crazy for a tow within Hamilton, County. All in all, the front desk lady was rude. No compassion or anything. I just left my dad's house trying to get his stuff out after he passed. My point is; usually if someone is calling for a tow truck they aren't having a great day, it wouldn't hurt to be nice. On the other hand, I later found out that Gossett towing in Gatesville would have came out and towed it back to Gatesville for half the price. read more

Wonderfull!! We had a blow out on a friday afternoon while moving from Oregon to Texas and they came out and saved the day. Fast, efficient and so friendly. Towed us all the way to Austin and waited while we signed the lease on our new apartment. Made our day and restored my faith in humanity. read more

If I could give zero star I would. My husband was in a motorcycle accident. He hit a deer. Murphy's was called out to retrieve the bike that was in pretty good shape. One person could easily roll it forward. They charged $645.00 Break down of charges: $175 tow $20 impound $175 labor (two guys to put it on and off the truck) $175 for DPS call $100 for hook up Horrible! Price Gouging! read more

If there was a negative, I would have posted that. Overcharging because they are the only wrecker service in town. Do not ever use them. Charged my brother in law $700 to tow and keep his bike after his wreck. Highway robbery as they say. read more

AVOID...RUDE!!! I am a AAA member and when my son had an issue while traveling in the Hamilton area, AAA called Murphy's Wrecker Service! Driver called my son who indicated we would want the car towed to Houston, where we live -- and his comment with much haste was, "do you realize how far that is?" Along with comments -- "well are you going to be there when I get there, cause if not, I am not taking it" and "you are going to have to pay for this before I touch this vehicle." No thank you...no need to come touch my vehicle -- I will manage to get to Houston with out your poor service!!! read more

Where to start? We were 175 miles from home, and had misplaced the keys! Driver Josh was patient with us as he carefully explained our options (towing without keys vs with) and then waited as we hunted down and found the keys- all before the long tow back to our home town of Huntsville, TX. Bobby came to our assistance at 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon at the Shamrock at Evants. I Used AAA. He arrived 20 minutes after the call. He took the time to load my sports car onto the truck. The dealership said he strapped the car down perfectly, and knew what he was doing to not damage any of the suspension components. He drove my wife and I 180 miles to drop the car off.
