My bestie recommended this restaurant, so we decided to check it out with a party of three around 7…read morep.m. We did make a reservation, which turned out to be a great idea because it was fairly busy when we arrived and most of the tables were already full. Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

Thirsty Lion delivers a clean, spacious gastropub atmosphere that makes it a great spot to relax,…read moregrab a drink, and enjoy a solid meal. The layout feels open and comfortable, and the overall vibe is upbeat without being overwhelming. That said, service on arrival could use some attention. There was a noticeable gap at the host stand with several guests waiting and no staff in sight, which set a slightly off first impression. Once seated, though, the experience improved. Ally at the bar stood out right away. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, she helped turn the visit around and made the experience feel more personal. She did come back to check in later, which was appreciated and helped round out the service. On the food and drink side, they carry Manhattan Project Beer Company's Half-Life, which is a big win and pairs exceptionally well with the French dip. The sandwich itself is flavorful and satisfying. The fries were a bit on the softer side, so if you prefer them crispy, I'd definitely recommend asking for them extra crispy when ordering. Overall, Thirsty Lion has a lot going for it. Great atmosphere, solid menu, and standout staff like Ally. With a little more consistency at the front of house, this place easily moves from good to great.

We had a reservation, which is recommended because the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night in May. We opted to sit on the patio because the weather was gorgeous. I am not sure if the patio is climate controlled in the summer or not. But on that night we were there, the weather was mild so it was very pleasant. They have happy hour on Saturdays so I started with an IPA on tap and the wife had a Prosecco, also for happy hour prices. This is a tapas restaurant so I will try to remember all that we had. Manchego cheese board: excellent. The crisps and jam were perfect with the cheese. Potato torilla: excellent. The flavors melded very well and it was very tasty. It's filling so keep that in mind. Ceviche de jalapeno: excellent. Not too spicy, the shrimp and seafood was fresh with no fishy smell. The plantains were cooked perfectly, not greasy. Brisket on crostini: excellent. Forget the name but they are a winner. Brisket is good quality and the flavors come together nicely. Chicken skewer: excellent. They smartly use chicken thighs so the meat is juicy and tender. Tuna tartare: good. It actually was my least favorite. The quality was very good but it did not have much flavor. I needed some heat, some acid, something to give it a kick. We were absolutely stuffed and did not try dessert. Our server Marcellus was excellent. Very helpful and pleasant throughout. He never disappeared for too long. Overall, we had a great meal and will undoubtedly return here again.

We loved Smithy when we found it in 2023 it's where I chose to celebrate my birthday in 2024…read more This time we brought the family to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, service and food Smithy has to offer. To start, it was stormy something crazy this year and the valet out front was a delightful start to the evening! We were cheerfully greeted at the host stand and our reservation was pulled up immediately. We were shown to a booth facing the kitchen, as we'd requested in our reservation. The place was decorated for Christmas, although we missed the giant ornaments hanging from the ceiling this year. ** the ONLY bummer was they don't offer kid's menus, which is a shame because I think we'd come more often if they did. So the kids each ordered am $18 burger (cringe) with meat & bun only. My husband loved the Hot Honey Chicken from last visit so much he ordered it again. It did NOT disappoint! I have dreamt about my order from last year and couldn't wait to duplicate it again - crab nachos (already dairy free!!!) and guacamole & chips (the pepitas & pomegranate seeds are a treat). I was delighted they hadn't changed a thing and both were as tasty as I'd remembered. I made sure to have leftovers so I could enjoy them again for lunch the next day. The finale was the firecracker candle (see image) they brought me while singing happy birthday. Smithy was the perfect place to celebrate this year and I am so grateful we accidentally found it last year.
