I rarely rate gas stations (because they are gas stations), but I was very surprised at a couple of things. For the first one, the person working there was very friendly. I feel like most people working aren't really friendly, so that was nice to deal with. And number two, but the main reason I am writing this review is because of the clean restroom. I try to avoid gas station bathrooms, unless it is a Buccees, but when your kid has to go, he has to go. I feel like you can judge a gas station based on the restroom, and this location didn't disappoint. Overall, I think this is a great location, and if I need gas and I am in the area, I will make sure to have enough gas to come back here. read more

I feel bad for confusing the cashier but they were extremely nice! I stopped by this gas station to buy a bottle of water and a protein bar. The total came out to be 5.03$ and I paid 6$. After I paid 6$ I got my 4.97$ change. I then asked them if they would let me off for being 3 cents short. They said yes. I then told them about I time when I was at Chick-fil-A and my order came out to be 10.10$ so I paid 10$ and the cashier then demanded 10 cents (Which is fricking ridiculous!). They told me that's just Chick-fil-A. I replied oh ok. I then requested if I could return my 4.97$ change for 5$ (because I don't like holding coins lol!) and the cashier got really confused. I just gave him my 4.97$ change and left because I didn't want to confuse the cashier any further. The cashier eventually understood my request and came out of the gas station to give me my 5$ change and I just thanked him and told him to keep it as a tip! Some businesses are greedy asf while others are chill like this one! read more

Holy crap. This RaceTrac is AWESOME. I've never been so excited about a gas station in my life. When the BF was like "hey, I'm gonna take you to RaceTrac for a date," I was like "say whaaaaat?!?!" But when we got there I was like, "WTF, THIS is a GAS STATION?!" This gas station has everything. There is a fro-yo (frozen yogurt) station and it's .39 centers per ounce. There are actually a lot of good toppings! I really liked the cheese cake, celebration cake, double chocolate and pineapple flavors! The mochi fairy has blessed this place with ginormous amounts of mochi. I LOVE IT! Their beef and chicken empanadas, are awesome! Second best I've ever had. They're cheap too, 2 for 3. I actually feel shameful for liking gas station food, but I promise, you wouldn't have thought it was gas station food. I don't pump at RaceTrac because of the gas quality, but for those who do, it's at a good location (Renner & Shiloh) and price is fairly cheap. If you don't come for gas, at least come for the cheap fro-yo, empanadas and drinks (.49 cents right now). read more

They have red cream soda Icees? Incredible! I've never had such a thing in my life and I wish 7-Eleven carried it nationwide. The convenient store was clean, stocked with all kinds of fried yummy goodies and extremely courteous attendants. I only stumbled onto this place 'cause it was right off the highway, but I'll keep my eye out for them when I drive through Texas next time 'cause the empanadas were outrageous and did I spy a freaking fro-yo station?! And a giant walk in cooler? Why am I so impressed with this gas station? It's clean, it offers all kinds of goodies I wouldn't expect at a gas station and the soda selection makes me giddy. I love RaceTracs in general- always clgular and cajun seasoned boiled peanuts. ean, well stocked and run by friendly employees. This one goes to the next level. They have so many drink (Fountain and bottled) options, walk in beer cooler, Frozen Yogurt, sandwiches, taquitos, burgers, dogs, bakery area with made on site food. This place is crazy well stocked!! BOILED PEANUTS! Yes, they have both regular and cajun spiced peanuts. These are a southern treat- if you haven't ever had one, grab one and try it- they really are delicious. This is the only place I have found that carries them. Sure, Walmart has them canned in some stores (Same brand as these), but you gotta heat those up. These are ready to go! I laughed at Tina's comment about a "date" because I too took my wife and son to this RaceTrak as a date...we had no other destination planned- just here. Not sure about her gas comment. I wouldn't hesitiate to get gas at a RaceTrak, it's guaranteed- I don't know of another gas station that does that...except QT.And their prices are always lower. By far my favorite RaceTrac. I love their coffee station set up. Not only do they always have several coffees to choose from but they also have Half & Half, Whole Milk, Almond Milk along with a couple of other options that you can pour into your coffee instead of having to stand there opening little containers that never have enough inside of it. They also have sugar free flavor add in as well!! I use to go to QT all the time for coffee but once my Husband took me into a RaceTrac for coffee one morning I've always kept going back to RaceTrac because of how convenient everything is in their coffee section. Whenever I make my coffee and then leave paying $1.82 for a large I feel like I just got the best damn coffee at a fraction of the cost then Starbucks! This gas station has class. I've never been to a gas station as awesome as this. Not only does it look great on the outside, it's even better inside! My 7 year old niece was talking to me about how much she loved getting frozen yogurt at Race Trac and I didn't take her seriously at all. I just kept nodding my head reciprocating her amusement with her experience. I was just thinking it's a young girl not knowing what she's talking about. Little did I know, when I came there for some refreshments, I was astonished to actually see a frozen yogurt section...like the ones you see at your other typical fro-yo places! I was thrown away. Seeing that right there made me fall in love all over again. Maybe I should take my 7 year old niece more seriously this time. I was also going to get some beer, and there's actually sliding door to go to a walk-in fridge to get it. At first, I thought I was in the wrong area - I thought I mistakenly walked into the employee section where they store the backstock. Boy, was I wrong - there's an entire room specifically for beer! Ah, I'm in Heaven...not that I'm some alcohol lover or any sort. It just amazes me how they sectioned off an area of the store specifically for beer. I love Race Trac. I mean, I always go to the many other locations of its kind for my regular convenience, but this specific location by far is my favorite. Large store with a big self serve yogurt stand for all the cool suburban kids. Prices are higher then Big D and the store was large a spacious for all your needs. The employees were essentially worthless and not friendly at all. Note to self RaceTrac follow a lead of one of your large competitors. Teach employees how to be cordial and friendly to the people who help them keep a job. I don't think it requires much for employees to get off their phones and acknowledge customers or be helpful in some manner. Nice variety of drinks and priced low. They have the same roller grills all gas stations have and they carry the same basic hot dog and rolled tortilla snacks as every other place. Great former eating for under three bucks! Haha! What do you expect, right? Decent junk food for the price would be a more honest assessment, but less exciting. Oh well. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the lowest gas in my area. If your in a hurry to fill up and go, don't hold your breath. The pump I was at was so slow it took an actual 12 minutes to put a1/2 tank of gas in my car. That was only 9.3 gallons of gas. When I told the counter person how slow pump 9 was running. I got a ok whatever attitude. Drove out of my way 3 miles from my usual gas station cause the gas was .06 cents cheaper. Never again. read more

I first started going to this gas station for convenience, since it's right o the way to the George Bush Hwy, and the price is generally competitive. They have a great variety of food and drink, and the icees are what attracted me. The number of choices runs the length of a whole wall. So I have been very disappointed to find out that no matter the season the icee machines are invariably not working. I've mentioned it to the clerks, but they just shrug. They have enough business. So I now go to 7-11, where I pay a little more for gas, but my Dr Pepper slurpee usually is available and working. read more
