I would give zero stars if I could! Stay away from these people, UNLESS YOU WANT A FLOODED FINISHED BASEMENT WITH WHAT AMOUNTS TO PROBABLY THOUSANDS IN DAMAGES!
Mike Murphy and Sons came out to "repair" my boiler after the pressure valve had released a small amount of water the night before. I texted that night and was told it wasn't an emergency and to call the next day for service, which I did. Next day Andy Murphy came out and replaced a 2 year old part, but couldn't be bothered to fix the "pressure valve" that he kept commenting was "stuck". The fact that the pressure tank (not sure of the actual name) was only 2 years old, and not the 5 plus years that they generally last should have been his first clue that that wasn't the problem. The valve that he kept saying was "stuck" was the problem and he couldn't be bothered to fix that! Never told me that I should hang around the boiler and make sure it was ok, and he was aware I was leaving for work, my mom stayed while he remained, but she also was not warned to stay and watch boiler and that their was a potential for it to leak again etc. Instead Andy found a very small bucket in my basement and put it under the pressure relief pipe, indicating that he knew there was a potential for more leaking.
I get home from work at 8pm or so and find water flowing into my garage and finished basement area and water POURING out of the pipe that apparently lets water out when the pressure is too high in the boiler. I quickly call Andy and explain the situation and he seems not to concerned and explains how to shut the valve off to stop the water, he also seem irritated that I am even calling him. He then tries to tell me they will come the next day to look at it again, and I say NO WAY, you will send your emergency technician now to make sure I shut the water off correctly!
His emergency technician arrives a short time later, and immediately realizes it's the pressure relief valve that is broken and stuck that is likely causing the issue (Yes, the same valve that Andy kept saying was "stuck" while he was replacing the part that likely didn't need to be replaced). Here we are many hours later and no more leaks now that the obviously broken part has been fixed.
I now likely have THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN WATER DAMAGE BECAUSE ANDY MURPHY COULDN'T BOTHER TO FIX A STUCK VALVE, AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. I will now have to go through. my own insurance, pay a deductible and then sue them if my insurance doesn't go after theirs!! read more
