I am extremely disappointed by my experience with this venue today…read more My daughter and her husband are currently away serving in the military, so she asked me to represent her and tour the venue for their November 2026 autumn-themed vow renewal and reception. Yesterday, I spent approximately an hour on the phone with Alyssa discussing their event. I was told the date we selected was available and would be held for two weeks while we finalized the details and submitted the deposit. I was instructed to come in today to meet with Mike, discuss the event details, and move forward with the arrangements. I arrived today with the deposit in hand, prepared to sign the paperwork and move forward. A friend even left work early to accompany me. Instead, I was told the date was no longer available because a corporate client had paid and signed a contract. I understand that a signed contract takes priority. **That is not the issue. The issue is that I was told yesterday that this date was available to my daughter, and less than 24 hours later, it was taken away without anyone contacting me.** If there was another contract pending or a possibility that the date could be lost, I should have been told. A simple phone call this morning could have saved my time, my friend's time, and prevented this entire situation. What made matters worse was how the situation was handled. Rather than taking accountability for the conflicting information I had been given, I felt dismissed, talked down to, and spoken to in an unnecessarily loud and confrontational manner. I was reminded that because I had not yet signed a contract or paid the deposit, technically the date was not mine. **Ironically, I had the deposit with me and was there specifically to pay and sign.** I was not asking for special treatment because my daughter and her husband serve in the military. But military families have schedules, commitments, and circumstances that do not always allow us to simply rearrange everything at the last minute. **You should not tell a customer that a date is available, have them make plans around that information, and then take that date away less than 24 hours later without even the courtesy of a phone call.** Customers deserve honesty, communication, accountability, and respect--regardless of whether they are a corporate client or an individual family planning an important milestone. The most upsetting part is that my daughter trusted me to handle this for her while she and her husband are away serving. I told her I was going to take care of everything, and instead I had to call her and explain that the date we had been discussing the day before was suddenly gone. **I feel that both my daughter and I were misled, our time was wasted, and we were ultimately left embarrassed and disappointed.** Businesses have every right to prioritize signed contracts. What they do not have to do is treat potential customers as though their time and plans don't matter. Unfortunately, after this experience with Alyssa, Mike, and the owner, I would not recommend this venue to another family planning an important event. **My daughter deserved better. I deserved better. And quite frankly, every customer deserves better.** Event type Wedding, Party, Other Capacity level 20-50 people Venue style Rustic, Elegant, Other

Beautiful venue for a wedding! We were amazed by the antique look of a relatively new build.read more

If you are thinking about having your wedding at this venue, run in the other direction. The venue…read moreis beautiful, but it's being horribly mismanaged. The person who manages events for this venue shouldn't be working with the public in any capacity. She was incredibly rude, unaccommodating, and at times down-right nasty, and the behavior started at our rehearsal dinner and continued throughout our wedding weekend. Oddly enough, in the year leading up to the wedding and at the two meetings we had with her onsite, she was extremely nice, accommodating, and communicative. She acted as though weddings at the venue were a well-oiled machine and that she had things under control. I'm not sure why a switch was flipped (I feel as though we were very nice and easy going clients throughout the entire process so I'm not sure what we did to deserve her change in attitude), but her behavior did a complete 180 just in time for our wedding. She spent the weekend being extremely rude to our family, wedding party, and guests. Friday night was spent talking to me (the bride) like I was a dog at what was supposed to be a sleepover with my bridal party (she ruined the night), as well as getting into a yelling match with the owner of the property in front of my entire bridal party and in-laws. We basically paid over $6,000 to be talked down to the entire weekend. Her excuse for her behavior (and the owner's excuse for her actions) is that they were short-staffed. When concerns were brought to the owner, it was as though he already received our money, so he didn't care how we were treated. As a venue, it is THEIR responsibility to ensure they are staffed properly. As paying clients, their staffing problems should have never become our issue. Saturday (the day of the wedding) was spent hearing her yell and speak rudely to anyone who came in contact with her. I'm not really sure what the venue manager did on Saturday, because our day-of-coordinator (a third party vendor) did the majority of the work. You would have thought this was the first wedding ever held at this venue due to their chaotic manner and lack of organization. Details that were discussed in the weeks leading up to the wedding (and even the night before the wedding) were forgotten and missed the day of. Best of luck wanting to do something differently than the way the venue manager was accustomed to doing it- you'd get immediate pushback with zero regard for the fact that this is OUR wedding day that we're paying money for. Just no accommodation whatsoever. Staff from the Plantation House wouldn't even dismiss our guests for dinner. They were truly there to put out tables and chairs (after I was yelled at about the number of tables on Friday night, the wrong amount of tables were still put out), prepare the food (one of the only positives of this place), and loudly complain about guests entering the house and the bridal party using the front staircase. Might I add they never put out a sign (which belongs to the venue) that points guests in the direction of the restrooms that are in a separate building, so guests were forced to come in the house to find a restroom. I'm still confused as to what we paid these people thousands of dollars to do! There are many more specific instances of rude and nasty behavior specifically from the venue manager that occurred all weekend, but if I were to go into detail, this review would be the length of a novel. We still had a great wedding, but it was no thanks to the Country Plantation House. Thank god for our day of coordinator, wedding party, family, and friends who stepped in to help. The current state of this establishment is truly a shame because it's in a stunning location. It was my dream to get married here, but the actions of the staff turned my dream into a nightmare. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and it's hard to get over the fact that we were treated so poorly on our special day. Beware of this venue, and don't let them fool you into thinking they will take care of you on the biggest day of your life. Instead, you'll pay over six grand for terrible treatment and a venue that couldn't care less about your wedding. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Edit: beware of the most recent 5 star review. It's literally from an employee of the establishment.
