I was initially referred to Dr. Karam at Nephrology Associates after meeting him during a hospital stay after going into kidney failure due to kidney stone complications and was very unhappy with him. Dr. Karam made me feel like a number and rushed me out of my initial appointment instead of taking the time to sit an explain my situation or discuss any type of treatment plan. My initial visit with Dr. Herron was a completely different experience and I was extremely happy with the entire process. It was easy to schedule an appointment, her staff was friendly, I was seen quickly, and Dr. Herron made me feel like she actually cared about me. She took the time to answer all my questions, explained my situation so I was able to fully understand everything, and started me on a treatment plan to maintain my kidney function. I highly recommend Dr. Ann Herron!!!

One GI performed a colonoscopy, and my symptoms continued. We saw Dr. Whitfield on Dec 22. He listened and examined and then said clearly "Your problem is not what you think it is." He had me come in the next day for an exam under anesthesia. He drained infection and diagnosed the condition, which is treatable, but incurable. He recommended a GI specialist for further treatment, and I already feel 100% better. All these other providers heard the same story and saw the same symptoms, but Dr. Whitfield actually got me on the road to a healthier life. My wife believes he saved my life.

Dr. Mangione did a full workup on me that included everything from stress tests to cardiac catheterization. Luckily, my heart checked out fine, but his keen eye picked up something odd on my cardiac echo which wound up being a tumor growing in my pancreas. The tumor was removed later that year. Fast forward to 2014, and I was having problems with heart palpitations and other problems that got me referred out to another cardiologist in Murfreesboro. I fooled around with that guy for months and all he could do is run test after test, and then want to run them again because he forgot that he already ran it. I remembered the experience that I had with Dr. Mangione and got back in to see him. Within a visit or two, he had determined the issue and was able to resolve the problems with a minor change in medication.

And the very last time I met with my therapist, she scolded me for missing some appointments because I had strep(didn't want anyone else getting it), and I did accidentally have two appointments at one time, which I apologized for. And her schedule all the sudden changed and all the other therapist started leaving, so I was finally told after not seeing my therapist for almost two months that they were looking for somewhere else that took my insurance. They weren't doing my therapy any more.

For about 14 years I was getting high fevers, my lower legs turning red and hurting, excruciating pain that would take me down for up to 2 weeks. This was happening sometimes twice a month. I had been to numerous doctors, went through dozens of tests. All for nothing. I was told it was all in my head, never could figure out how I could make myself get 105 degree fevers. Anyway, my dear neighbor suggested I go to Dr. Beatty. I was skeptical because I had already been through a lot but I went anyway. Dr. Beatty sat and listened to all my complaints. Gave me a good work up. Than he sent me to one of the best rheumatologist around, Dr. Legrone. He listened to me and read all my past history. You could all of a sudden see a light bulb go off. He jumps up and goes to get one of his medical journals. Right there in black and white was answers to my condition, Familia Mediterranean Fever. A rare disease. Ran tests and sure enough I had it. FINALLY A DIAGNOSIS! I was so happy. People would ask why I was happy being diagnosed with that. I told them I wasn't happy about that but happy about having a diagnosis, I wasn't crazy, I didn't make myself get fevers. I know this is long but I just want everyone to know Dr. Beatty is the best. If he can't figure it out he'll send you to someone that can. Forgot to mention I also have Crohn's disease and thought for a long time it was that causing fevers. Also have fibromyalgia.Thank God I listened to my neighbor. So don't waste another visit with someone else. Dr. Beatty is the best!

I never expected to be writing this, but after five years as a patient of this practice, I feel…read moreit's important to share my experience. I've been a parent for ten years, and for the last five of those years, we have Silver Hill Medical Clinic as our primary care office. Anyone who knows me or has followed me for a while knows that when I find a provider I love, I am incredibly loyal--and that I am also a very strong advocate for my children. I don't take speaking publicly about medical care lightly !!! We began seeing this practice at the start of COVID, and Dr. Sandy became my trusted primary care provider. She walked with me through two second-trimester pregnancy losses, the mental health crisis that followed, and many deeply vulnerable seasons. Over those five years, this office has seen all four of my children, including multiple visits when they were infants and toddlers. I always felt heard, remembered, and genuinely cared for by Dr. Sandy herself. Unfortunately, a recent experience with the office staff completely shattered the trust I had in this practice. When I called seeking care for my 10-month-old--who they had turned down earlier that day when my husband brought her in. (But she had been seen at this office just weeks prior). I was told they "do not see children under two" and that this has always been their policy. This policy has never once been communicated to me in five years of care, despite clear medical record proof (posted public and pinned on my personal page) that they have repeatedly seen my babies and young children. When I expressed my confusion and frustration, I was repeatedly told they had "made an exception" at her recent visit, even though this was never mentioned at the time. The staff showed no empathy, insisted the policy had always existed despite the documentation, and ultimately hung up on me. If this truly is their policy, I can respect that--but being turned away without warning, CONTRAINDICATED BY YEARS OF RECORDS, and treated with such dismissal was incredibly upsetting. What has been most painful is the complete lack of follow-up. After years of loyalty and deeply personal care, Dr. Sandy did not call, did not message me directly, and made no attempt to address what happened outside of the message you see below. I waited through the holidays, hoping to hear something. I never did. Even a brief portal message was unsigned and impersonal. Losing a provider I once loved and trusted is devastating. We will not be returning to this practice, and I can no longer recommend it--especially to families with young children. I'm sharing this with documentation so others can make informed decisions about their care.
