We are staying in Gulf Shores and were so bummed The Wharf location closed. But today we took the Ferry from Fort Morgan over to Dauphin Island and then trekked the 30 minutes to Murder Point Oysters. What a fun adventure it was to Bayou La Batre! We were so happy to have the journey over. We had just 6 oysters outside on the porch before getting a bag of 100 oysters to take with. The girls running the shop were so kind and helpful. These oysters are raised in my beautiful home state of Alabama and the Alabama coastline consistently produces a full, rich, creamy taste with a light metallic finish and a drop of butter flavor in each oyster. Remember only eating oysters during a month with the letter "r" in the month's name? That is not an issue with Murder Points! Murder Point adheres to the strict time temperature regulations set by the FDA, meaning we consumers, can enjoy these #butterlove oysters year-round. I'm a fan and bought one of their Murder Oyster sweatshirts. I love it! Do know that their merchandise (available on their website) in fact includes oysters in various quantities, oyster shuckers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, glassware, beanies, and baseball caps. As another Yelper noted, these oysters really don't need all the typical oyster accoutrements (horseradish and ketchup mixture, lemon juice, maybe a dash of hot sauce), I like them with a slight squeeze of fresh lemon on a simple saltine. We were staying in Ocean Springs, MS and couldn't find local fresh oysters to buy. Wanted to make some char-grilled oysters. A little research on Yelp and found Murder Point Oysters in Bayou La Batre, AL and made the 45 minute drive over. So glad we did! Beautiful fresh oysters! They were really helpful in the shop and we are enjoying the oysters so much we've only had them raw at this point. Looking forward to some grilled tomorrow with what's left going home frozen to TN. read more

I never knew how truly wonderful an oyster could taste until I had my first Murder Point Oyster! I had never eaten an oyster without horseradish or hot sauce . . . simply the raw oyster. I have eaten raw oysters for several years but only now have I begun to appreciate the taste and the importance of where the oyster comes from. I am spoiled. This place is perfect for what it is. A shuck-your-own oyster joint way out in the country. Awesome prices, nice folks, clean place. And the oysters were just perfect. I came in on Friday 2/4/22 and purchased a sack of oysters. The purchase was made with a gift card (if that helps remembering or finding the transaction) I did everything that I was told to do to keep the oysters and by Sunday (2/6 morning) they had spoiled and had to be thrown away) I left a voicemail at that time, received no call back. I then followed up with an email. Long story short, back and forth emails where Rosa played the blame game in lieu of customer service. Again, i was having to follow up through emails when she did not respond. Rosa, finally, led me to believe she would rectify the situation and asked for my mailing address. It is now May and I have not received any compensation. It really is too bad, i have loved your oysters in the past, received them as gifts, etc but the horrific customer service provided has left a worse taste in my mouth than had i ate the spoiled oysters. while i do not live in the area, my family does and friends they do as well, i would not hesitate to tell them to avoid purchasing what usually is a wonderful product. read more
