Turns out this was a really, really good stumble. These guys are honest and on your side from the get go, which I found especially impressive seeing that I'm a woman and they didn't know me from Adam. Or really, Eve. So I told them what I was after - to not spend too much but to get my car into selling shape. With a car of this age, there are a lot of little odds and ends to tweak to get it there and after having it for several years and taking it to several repair shops, I figured certain things that were just a little bit wrong with it were just never going to be fixed - things like the hood never quite fitting flush and things like that. Lo and behold, when I picked it up today I found that these guys had not only repaired the things that I'd specifically asked, but had looked at it as I would have dreamed but never thought possible and and tweaked a bunch of odds and ends (missing screws, funky radio, etc.) that needed it. I was thrilled of course, and even more so when I realized the bill was honest and not inflated. My only regret is that I did find J&S sooner.

I did some searching on Google, read the Google reviews, then took my Chevy Blazer to Waterford Garage on Saturday and could not be more happy with the quality and friendly customer service I got. I like that they listened to my sketchy description of my problem, test drove it, and fixed it right the first time. I paid about $400 for front rotors, ceramic brake pads all the way around, a complete fuel system service, electronic diagnostic of a bad tail light, and a diagnostic of a bad wheel bearing. I had taken my Blazer to "B C Automotive" last August and that guy put cheap metal brake pads on my Blazer and I've had nothing but problems since. When the guy at Waterford Garage looked at it, he said no reputable mechanic would put the cheaper metal brake pads on a vehicle that heavy, he recommended replacing them with ceramic brakes. No more squeeking finally! Also, my Blazer is running like a champ after the fuel system service. They work lightening fast too, I barely had time to go home and eat breakfast before it was time to go back and pick it up. My Blazer is 10 years old and I like not having a car payment. However, the Dealer is way too expensive for repairs now that my warranty is over. I feel a lot better now that I know I have Waterford Garage to go to. ps: see my review of "B C Auto Care"

I was expecting it to take days to get to it, diagnose, order parts, install, etc. Imagine my surprise when they called me within an hour to explain their diagnosis. The price was very fair so I gave them the go-ahead to replace catalytic converters and O2 sensors. They called me back about an hour later to let me know it was done! On top of that, they didn't throw parts at it and ended up saving me another $500 by testing the O2 sensors and determining they were still fine. This was ~25% of the final bill and they could have easily told me it was needed. I appreciate their quick, accurate, and honest work. I will definitely be back!

Master Radiator has been servicing my vehicles for the last 8+ years at least with excellent service. Most Recently, my power steering went out after my hoses for the unit ruptured. Of course, they took photos to show the damage, not just say that something's broken. They serviced it in a timely manner, but unfortunately there were some bumps in the road. They hired a NEW Technician who worked on the vehicle... who basically destroyed my rack & pinion, requiring a replacement, but *he didn't tell anybody.* After the desk called me to confirm they can fix the part (believing that it was broken before they had someone work on the car), they had him install a NEW one, and he destroyed that one too. At this point, they discovered that he was responsible for my original part being destroyed as well as the new one they were supposed to install. That technician suggested they just charge me for a new part & labor, and not disclose it to me. At this point in time, they fired said technician IMMEDIATELY. They called me, informed me of the situation, and then didn't charge me for either of the parts, or any of the labor. UPON RECIEVING THE CAR: I guess they could only find a Remanufactured part for my Rack & pinion. Remanufactured parts typically have light defects, and the new Rack & Pinion's defect was a little bit of play in my steering wheel. After reporting this concern to them, two of the mechanics came out to my car with me, did an inspection right in front of me, and explained that the part was Remanufactured, and there's a chance that if we replaced it again, there would be another defect... But we could still warranty the part out and get a new one if it was bothering me, but ultimately, the car WAS safe to drive (big thanks to Justin and Ben for seeing me right away) I decided that I'd gamble on the warranty, and Master Radiator definitely delivered. They installed a brand new R&P, and didn't even charge me for the labor! As far as I'm concerned, they took a really big financial hit to serve me, the customer. They will be keeping my business so long as I live in Michigan. 10/10, Definitely Recommend. Some service features to note: - You will be able to see pictures from the inspection so you don't just have to take their word for everything - You can call at any time and have them talk you through what they plan to do with your car if there's any confusion - You'll ALWAYS get an itemized bill - You can pick and choose through a list of *suggested* fixes, so you don't have to have to take the "All or Nothing" approach that most mechanics nail you with. And NO. They won't try to upsell you on stuff unless its legitimately necessary.

When I reconnected the battery, I didn't tighten the terminals properly, so just as I parked my car at the dealership, the battery died. I left 2 separate messages to 2 separate mechanics AND told in person a service rep, that the battery was drained but all it needed was to be tightened and recharged. The dealer "tested" the battery, confirmed it was "dead" (duh), and proceeded to tell me I needed a new battery (for almost $400) and a diagnostics (for nearly $200). Knowing perfectly well what the issue was, I refused and had my car towed to Steve's instead (I have AAA) where Shaun and Jordan simply left a trickle-charger connected over the weekend and now the car runs just fine. And I was charged nothing! What a class act! I will never go to a VW dealer again, ESPECIALLY not VW of Ann Arbor. If you have a European car, just go to Steve's and save yourself from being robbed by a stealership.
