Tried this place for the first time.Well the atmosphere was great! It was a sat night so service was slow!!started with lobster bisque which was delicious but had to have it reheated,then all 5 dinners came out COLD!!but the flavors were great,just had to have everything reheated.Very disappointed!Would try this place again but not on a weekend night!! read more

Food is a notch above average. I suggest getting carry out because my issue is the staff. Ill-mannered and rude as well as clueless. We called ahead asking if there was a waiting time and the girl said 15-20 minutes, so we asked to be put on a waiting list and she said they don't take call a heads or reservations. So we got there and what was the very first thing the hostess asked? "Do you have reservations?" We said we just called and was told you don't take reservations. Well the hostess looked flustered at that and said it was ok they had a table. They sat us in the back next to a fireplace which was burning. The room had to be 80 degrees with no circulation. We asked if they could turn it off and the waitress said they were told no but she would ask. 15 minutes later with visible sweat on my brow she came back and informed us it was left on for "atmosphere." we then asked to be moved but the waitress said that there were no vacant tables. Curiously, I went into the center room with the bar and lo and behold two empty large tables that could accommodate us and since "they don't take reservations" and no one was waiting at the door, they should be available. I mentioned to the waitress about the two tables in the main room and that sparked a condescending tone from her about server sections and blah blah blah. My wife and about 8 of her fellow workers from Mercy Hospital had a retirement gathering for another nurse on Friday the 6th. While the server was cordial she was also very apologetic for the meals, at least three of which had to be sent back as either being over cooked, tasteless or barely warm. With the plethora of restaurants in the BV area, there are much better choices than this one. read more

bad history when my sister and I were young we were ruining around as kids the age of 6 or 7 do. there was something wrong with the rung and my sister and I tripped and wipe out in the restaurant. The owner was a dike a simple fact. she was rude. yelled at us kids and yelled out my mom. 19 years later my me and my mom ate there in 2014. the service is bad the food is worse. I ordered a hamburger and French fry. it came out cold and the spirit of the food was ruined for me. the meal was bad and I like hamburgers and French fries. the wait time is long. may time I remember sitting down 40 minutes to wait for my cold bad food. read more

The exterior is misleading, having never been here before I was totally unprepared for how nice it is inside. The library room is something to be seen to appreciate fully, my experience was very good with the service and the food was great. I had the pork chops and portions were generous, meat was moist and seasoned well, sides were fresh and plentiful. Overall had a very pleasant time with 2 other business associates who also liked thier dinners. I will most definitely return with my family and friends. read more

I've gone to Mulligan's for years and generally have had no complaints. However, last night's experience has set me off. Full disclosure: I was part of a large party of about 40 adults and children, so I expected there to be a minor hiccup or two. What I didn't expect was the extra slow, no method to the madness service. Even with large parties, the general rule is that the guests are all served close to the same time. Not so last night. There were no complex orders (everyone had hamburgers, prime rib, leg of lamb or lobster tails) yet there were some in our party who were finished with their entire meals while others were still waiting on appetizers. I arrived at 6:30 and didn't receive my lobster tails until nearly 9. In the three hours that I was there, I never received an offer for a drink refill. My mother's prime rib arrived so late that she no longer had an appetite, so she just asked for a box to take it home. And to top all of this off, this morning I have three pending charges from Mulligan's on my credit card. Despite the service, I tipped my waitress 20% because it's the holiday season and you never know what someone might be going through. However, I might be soured on Mulligan's henceforth. At the very least, I'll never use them for another large family dinner. read more

Waited 10 minutes while two separate parties of people came in. Servers standing around, staring at the people (myself included) pouring in through the door. No sense of order, no one telling us we'll be helped or seated soon, just employees avoiding eye contact. After waiting with no indication of how much longer it would be, we left. I used to love mulligans a decade ago. However my opinion has greatly changed. I have always been a fan if the filet so a few months ago I unknowingly dropped in. The cooks have NEVER been able to get the filet prepared to a proper medium without fileting the filet so I wasn't surprised when it was prepared medium rare. This I can handle..what I could not believe was the taste of the beef. It was cheap and poorly cut. I felt as if I were eating the week old special from some meat truck delivery. I paid my bill and fed it to the dog. I even tried again before I wrote this review. SAME ISSUES ONLY THIS TIME THE FILET WAS FATTY?! NEVER AGAIN. I guess the point is go for lunch but dedinately not for a good steal. And ohhhh don't get me started on the nasty filet on that menu lol. PS if you are going to seat three people at a tiny table how about foregoing the ridiculous glasses. The little triangle plates are ridiculously too small as well. Sorry. I'm all for locally owned and wish I could say something positive. I didn't even get to the service lol. read more

Horrible. Went here multiple times because I figured I kept ordering the wrong thing and that I would give it another shot. Nope. All of the food is terrible! The pasta with broccoli I got was so oily and had no flavor at all. The lobster ravioli was drenched in sauce and was also gritty and nasty tasting. My boyfriend and I got an appetizer of nachos and they were a soggy mess! I understand nachos often get soggy but these were so mushy as soon as we got them, you couldn't even pick up anything on a chip. Whoever makes the food needs to be fired because nothing tastes fresh. It all tastes terrible. I will no longer be going to this restaurant. read more

Worst experience ever! If you have kids, do NOT go here. I was told by one of the owners, Joyce Lynn, that "they do not cater to kids!" And boy is that the truth. You cannot get your child grilled chicken, it's fried chicken or "you can buy off the adult menu." "No substitutions". And, to go with the fried chicken, you must get them a soft drink! Remember, " I said, no substitutions" so you can purchase milk separately, but it doesn't come with the meal like a pop does. Not for my 2 year old. Very rude, very hostile. Made the remaining meal unpleasant. No one in my party of 17 that day will ever return. Pretty sad, we have had graduations, anniversary's, birthdays and we just had my sisters rehearsal dinner there. Oh, and if you have a child in diapers, you will be instructed to take them to the car to change them! read more

This used to be me and my wife's favorite restaurant as it was the site of our first date. We have dined here for many special occasions. However after today I will have serious thoughts about coming back. My wife ordered her shish-kaBob prepared rare as she has done many times in the past. Her meal arrived completely overcooked. She cut through each piece and each one was at least "medium". She politely sent it back to be prepared to her liking when a "manager" - Jocelyn I believe- approached us to let us know that she checked the steak and that it was prepared correctly and we could either take the plate or take it off our bill. So basically my wife sat there while I finished my meal. Then it took another 20 minutes for us to receive our check. The funny thing is that we were just about to ask about reservations for tomorrow (New Years Eve) for a party of 8 that loves to eat and drink. read more

Generally I don't write restaurant reviews; however I had to do so as a counterpoint after reading the review of Rob S. We, too, were there on Dec. 30, 2015, and our experience could not have been more different from his. Our food was excellent (which has always been our experience here) -- three in our party had the filets, two had chicken and ribs, and one had a hamburger. Everything was prepared as desired; adding to the positive experience was the service. Our server, Dustin, was attentive but not obtrusive, and did not rush us through the meal. It was such a fine evening as we celebrated my mom's 90th birthday, that we are returning later this month to celebrate my (not 90th!) birthday! read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night. The place was very busy so that may have contributed to the crappy food we received. He ordered ribs and chicken and I ordered filet mignon. We waited about 30 min for our food and when it arrived it was obvious the food had sat for awhile after being prepared. His chicken and ribs were dried out and tough and my steak, ordered as medium well, was extremely overdone and tough. My steamed carrots were cold and both of our potatoes were warm but not steaming as they should have been since they were still foil wrapped. We were both very disappointed and do not plan on returning. read more

Terrible. .. It took too long to get our drinks and about 30 more minutes to get our salads. There was only one another couple in the restaurant. I ordered the colossal shrimp cocktail, when it finally arrived at the table, it was spoiled. When the waitress came to check on us, my husband asked how much longer it would be for the steak dinners and mentioned to her the shrimp was spoiled. She took the shrimp and yelled to the kitchen " table 16 wants there food now." ...she returned to let us know it was only a couple of minutes longer. After the shrimp being spoiled, I didn't feel comfortable eating the rest of the food, that was on its way to the table. I cancelled the meal and asked for the check . I have never done that before. The Manger was polite and apologetic and didn't charge for anything. We left a tip and went elsewhere. We will not return. Poor wait staff , poor service, spoiled food. read more

My boyfriend and I went here about a month ago. Horrible service!!!! With only about 3-4 other tables being occupied, and seeing several servers walk by, a bartender with no customers standing there watching tv, it took a few minutes of standing at the door to even get seated. We finally were able to order a water and diet. We were ready order our lunch, had our menus out at the end of the table as a sign that we were ready to order, there were 3 servers standing around talking and then again, they walked nearby, not close to us, including ours, and all casually smiled as they walked on by!!! After 20 minutes of NO service, we left. And btw, this was on a Tuesday afternoon, when they were not busy, at all. We will never go back. read more

Called 5 days ahead of time and was assured that we could order by phone and pick up for Thanksgiving. When we called to order at appointed time, were told that we could not order over the phone, but needed to do so in person and wait. Meal therefore was one hour late for the guests waiting at my sister in law's home. First time I did not cook (I was ill), but will probably be the last Thanksgiving when I don't. Fries were cold and rubbery, meal was missing 2 of the 4 sides, the vegetarian "chicken" stir fry was missing the tofu/soy substitute (don't care, except paid for it). I've only been there once before and it was ridiculously noisy, so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation at our own table. The supposedly "healthy" vegetarian options were really just crap without the meat. The cakes in the cooler where we waited looked like they had been there about 2 weeks. Had to give them my money for Thanksgiving because other people were waiting for what I was picking up, but NEVER again. Bad food and bad service. read more

Well I've always heard from my dad how great this place is. First sign should have been the help wanted sign at the front door. I made reservations for 10 a week in advance. When we arrived we were seated in the back room with 2 other parties. Wait staff brought water out quickly and we waited a short time for the rest of our party to show. Now is where it went downhill. Never saw the waitress again to take our orders for 20 minutes. She came back took the orders and left. No water no second cup of coffee. Finally she came back a gave me coffee and said she would have the buss boy bring water. 10 minutes later they brought a small pitcher of water. Now we're not happy and still no food. After 1 hour and 15 minutes the food comes out. 3 people ordered turkey and dressing and is was cold. My wife was not happy. Food was sent back and probably microwaved and brought back with mine. Again staff leaves and we don't see them. The group to our lt and rt were both complaining about slow service and cold food. It seemed like everyone out front by the bar was getting good service. Maybe the we're more interested in the Browns then making a living. Needless to say we will never go back. 165.00 bill without drinks so I guess another Canton restaurant can wonder why there failing. read more

We had reservations for the party room. Apparently, the reservation had been lost, and all 40 of us were left standing near the bar for over 2 hours until the room was available to us. During this time, the manager was carrying a tray of food, and dropped it on the floor. Sour cream spilled all over my wife's face, hair and blouse. No one apologized, offerred a towel, or even acknowledge what had happened. The bartender was, while understandably overwhelmed, quite rude. We were served dinner at 10pm. The wait staff was not overly friendly or accomodating. I understand reservations can be lost. However, there were several things the staff could have done to make our wait more pleasant. We could have been offered complimentary appetizers or discounted drinks while we waited. Once seated, we could have been given bread or appetizers to eat during the long wait until we were given the opportunity to order. Won't be going back, which is too bad, because the interior was beautiful and the food delicious. read more

So I gave this place the 2 stars because the food was actually pretty good even though it took FOREVER to get it. We decided to stop in here late Saturday night. We got into the place right before 9 pm, there wasn't really anyone in there, and what guests were left were trickling out the door as we sat down, so we figured this should be a fairly quick experience. BOY WAS I WRONG! If you are on any sort of time schedule, just skip this place completely. It was absurd how long we waited to get 2 meals in an almost empty place. They have an extensive menu with lots of great sounding food on it. We decided to order some wings for an appetizer, as the menu said they were voted best in the area or something. They were right, they were great. They were huge, hot and delicious. That's what I didn't get really. It took 25 minutes to get the wings, but they were piping hot. I don't know what the heck the people in the kitchen were messing around doing back there that we waited that long for wings and they were still really hot. Sounds like a lot of goofing off. So we both ordered sandwiches with chips, so I thought the rest couldn't take that long, we waited ANOTHER 20 minutes to get our 2 simple sandwiches. It was 9:45 by the time we got our meals. It made absolutely no sense. Then there was a particular waitress in the area that we had been sat that was loud, obnoxious, annoying, and saying very inappropriate things that the guests could obviously hear. You can tell she thought she was really cute because of how crude she was. The woman had to be at least upper 30's too, she was just so childish. I'm not sure why she thought she was cute, but she did. She alone was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying, it was almost enough to get up and leave as we had to listen to her for an entire hour. To the management if you are reading this, this waitress said some things that are BEYOND inappropriate for any customer at any establishment to hear. This place obviously needs better management, letting these servers act this way and in front of customers on top of that. Just very inappropriate, negative things being said by this woman. She was short, and petite, she had very long brownish hair, if she reads this or anyone who knows her reads this... you make dining here miserable, and you are very annoying. Back to the sandwiches, I ordered a turkey reuben which was really good, and the other diner ordered roast beef sandwich. His sandwich had nothing on it but meat, he said it was good though, he dipped it in the sauce that it came with. The reuben was good, and the "chips" which I was for some reason expecting to be homemade, were ruffles or similar. Straight out of the bag. I'm torn on whether to return, because the food we got was good, the service and management, and overall experience was pretty terrible and LONG. read more
