This course is #3 on the B-Man's guide to the top 10 Charlotte area golf courses. It's a good course but a #3 seems overrated to me. Understanding it's February so granted, not ideal conditions. Still a problem when you have more than half an entire green surface under repair. You get only one Par 3 on the front and two on the back. The fairways are wide open and forgiving. The tee boxes all in good repair. You get the computerized electric golf carts. The check-in and Staff was smooth and everyone was nice. The bar/restaurant experience was good. As a Senior golfer, you get considerable tee advantage on most all of the holes. There is water but it doesn't come into play. They had patrolling Ranger maintaining pace of play. It is literally right adjacent to the Speedway. On several holes, you can see the Grandstands. I think you want to avoid this place on race day.

The carefully designed layout makes it easier for tournament golfers or anyone that wants to walk the holes. The greens and fairways are well maintained. The groundskeeper has chosen flowers and natural landscaping that brings out the natural beauty of this mature course. You will find a few challenging water hazards. Hole 11(par 5) is challenging. Hole ten is my favorite hole(par 4) it is straight on but you must avoid several bunkers. The dining at Cabarrus is a pleasant experience as well. From hot dogs to prime rib the menu is diverse. They have special occasion buffets that are really good. The chef works hard to keep the menu exciting. Sunday brunch is always a hit. My personal favorite menu item is the Reuben sandwich. The club also offers tennis and swimming. All of the sports at Cabarrus have organized competitions. The club sends out a newsletter and special emails to alert everyone of club sponsored events. They really put the fun in swimming, tennis, and golf! They also offer lessons and private instruction from experts in the sport. They have an amazing reception hall for weddings, wedding receptions, class reunions, or any event that needs a large opulent area. The on-site catering of food simplifies the planning of events. He quickly figured out how she's wired and adapted his instruction to fit her learning style. The results are profound. Her confidence has increased, her overall fitness has improved, and the quality of her play is very different now. Her yardages have increased around 20% across the board and she couldn't be happier with what she's accomplished. What a great facility for practicing all aspects of your golf game!…read more They have a covered & heated driving range area where you hit off mats. They also have an outside driving range where you hit off natural grass. Both are lighted as they stay open until 9pm There is also a dedicated chipping area. There is a dedicated putting area which is really exceptional. It's set up like a 18 hole putting green similar to a putt putt course. There is not a single flat area on the putting course, it's all swales and ridges so you will really be challenged. In addition they have two golf simulators you can rent by the half hour or hour. You can register for free membership to get your bucket of balls at a discount of $1.00. Interestingly most all the balls are Titlest range balls which is a plus. Inside there is an attendant who will rent the balls, There are 3 different size buckets, small, medium and large. The small gets you about 70 balls and runs $10.75 They sell used and new clubs and golf bags. You can buy individuals clubs or a full set. They also sell golf apparel including shoes. You can get cold sodas and bottled water as well. This is a first class facility part of the First Tee Organization of Greater Charlotte. You'll find that on certain days/hours there will be a lot of youngsters practicing so you can ask the attendant about the best times to visit.
